Recording sound on Macbook Pro

HI,
I am a Dj who has recently bought a Macbook Pro. I have setup my dj software and find it excellent but i'm struggling to find a way to record my sets on the Macbook. I have 2 USB ports but use them both when dj'ing and it also has the Thunderbolt and Firewire ports which i'm unsure about. Can I use either Thunderbolt and Firewire ports to record onto Garageband directly from an RCA output?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Is this a POP (POP3) email account? If so, you MacBook Pro may be retrieving the email and deleting it off the server before your phone can. Another possibility is that both your Mac and your phone are trying to retrieving it at the same time, and the POP server, which will only allow a single email client connection at a time, is locking out your phone resulting in the "has not been downloaded from the server" error.

Adobe usually offers digital downloads for all of their software (at least they did before Adobe Creative Cloud came around).
I don't know which suite you purchased, but you can Google it and see if there's still a .dmg file available for download and then simply enter your activation key.
Since I've been on ACC since it began, I don't do anything BUT download the digital editions of Adobe apps...

Ive been trying to do this for a long time, and have looked throughout this forum but cant find an answer. All I want to do is be able to record video from the built in camera to my external harddrive. Photobooth lets you record it but not to an external HD, and I cant find a way to do it with the new iMovie either. I am starting a graduate school program and I would like to purchase a MacBook Pro. The options for the non-retina display fit my needs best, but it sounds like the resolution requirements for Windows 8.1 Pro do not match the MacBook Pro without retina. I need Windows to run a statistics program (SAS) and ArcGIS for mapping. Any thoughts or experience installing Windows 8.1 Pro on MBP without retina?

The native res on my 13-inch non-Retina is 1280x800. You might check with Parallels support or their forums to see if this is a problem.
If you go with the non-Retina 13-inch, I'd recommend getting 8GB RAM (standard is 4GB) because Win emulators need a fair bit of memory.

The photos you synced to your iPod through iTunes are no longer in their full resolution, but instead are scaled down thumbnails of those photos. So if you do manage to get them off your iPod, they will be quite small in size compared to the original ones you lost.
In order to get them off of your iPod, you'll need the help of some sort of 3rd party software. Here is one option.

I'm assuming your dvd drive is broken? if you have a thumb drive large enough (8GB or better), you can use another computer to make a bootable image from the install dvd to the thumb drive. then you can install from the the thumb drive.

apart from the MacBook Air this feature is of no use for other Macs right now.
Simply ingnore it (click "I already have the Drivers...) and continue with the installation.
Sorry to say but you need the OSX Install DVD for the BootCamp Driver installation.
The 3.0 version of the BootCamp Drivers is only avaiable on the disc.
Later updates (3.1 and 3.2) can be downloaded from Apples Support website.
Call Apple and ask for a replacement and they usually send you one for a small fee.
And have the Serial-Number of your Mac at hand when calling.
And since the OSX Install DVD can also be vital for maintenance and repair it is best to have one.
The needed BootCamp Drivers are on the OSX Install DVD 1 that came with your Mac.
Insert that disc while in Windows after the Windows installation to install the drivers.

If you are running 10.6.8 then you must have bought it 3-4 yrs ago?
Might want to check the specs and then look at various programs and their requirements as to whether Final Cut Express and ah, you want to import media to an app, not "upload."
