I Need more room on my phone. I have a lot of photos and I have photo stream on. if I delete all my photos in camera roll, will I still be able to keep the photos in photo stream? My phone is not backed up to a computer, and I don't want to risk losing the photos.

  • How can I import photos from iPhoto '09 to Elements Organizer 10 while keeping the tags attached?

I have spent a ridiculously long time tagging photos in my iPhotos but I would now like to transfer all my photos to Elements Organizer and preserve all the work I had done.
From Adobe's help website (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/elementsorganizer/using/WS73c05ee9864270ea-417df45c129593bfa05 -8000.html) it says I can import the tags along with the photos but does not explain how:
"Elements Organizer 10 supports importing photos, along with their associated captions, tags, and ratings, from iPhoto. You also have the option to import information such as events and albums to maintain the organization of your library"
When I follow the steps outlined on the website my photos are imported but there are no tags attached to them. I am particularly interested in keeping my facial tags but I suppose it would be useful to know how to keep other keyword tags and ratings as well.
There was a previous question put out on the forums similar to this but it was unresolved and the person decided to just leave everything in iPhoto. I really would prefer to transfer all my photos to Elements Organizer. I don't like the way iPhoto organizes photos but I had to deal with it for several years before I bought Elements Photoshop with built-in Organizer.
    Please Please help!
    Many thanks
    D.M.

You don't import one library to another.  Just copy the library from the iBook to the Pictures folder on shout new MacBook Pro. If you have another library already on the MBP rename it so you don't overwrite it with the old library.
Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and select the newly copied library and let iPhoto convert it to the new version.
Do you have photos in the library on the new MacBook Pro that you want to combine with the older library?

  • How to export photos from Elements Organizer on Mac?

I saw someone asked the same question and it seemed not to be possible with the Mac version. Surely this can't be possible as this must be one of the single most important functions in an Archving system.

    rugfoot wrote:
The problem is I can't move them to a new folder. If I could I wouldn't have the export problem. I just dragging and dropping but it doesn't work. I have made a selection (15) of photos in Elements Organizer but I can't identify which ones they are (from 300) in the Mac Finder app (= Windows Explorer).
Sorry, I can't test that on a Mac, but I thought that 'Windows only' features would be stated on the Adobe pdf help file, and moving file is not mentionned as Windows only, whereas 'export' is clearly stated as Windows only.

    Edit,
By the way, the very useful faq list in the right panel of this forum links to PSE9, not PSE10 for the location of the guides.

  • Crash issues with elements organizer while running Apple OS 10.9 Mavericks

Crash issues with elements organizer while running Apple OS 10.9 Mavericks.  Crashes then ask if you want to reopen or not.  Also when you are trying to manuver the page with your mouse things go crazy from a full page edit back to viewing all photos on the site and skipping around from picture to picture.  Unsusable as it is today!

It is very critical to delete all preferences when you do a major OS X upgrade. You need to go to your username>library>preferences and delete everything pertaining to PSE. To see that library in 10.9, open a finder window, click your user account in the list on the left (the little house with your name), and then click the gear wheel at the top of the window and choose View Options. At the bottom of the list of checkboxes you'll see Library. Turn it on and then you can easily find the preferences folder.

  • Can't open RAW photos on elements 10 using windows XP. is there a solution?

i'm using a Nikon D3300 and can't open RAW photos on elements 10 using windows XP. none of the plugins i've tried worked.
please help.  i really don't want to have to buy a new version of elements or a new computer.

    Hi,
Unfortunately the Nikon D3300 requires camera raw 8.4 which is not compatible with PSE 10.
Even worse, the DNG Converter 8.4 will not run on a XP or Vista comtuter.
I don't know if the software that came with the D3300 will run on the XP system but if it does, your only option would be to use it to convert the NEF files to TIF files and then PSE 10 will be able to use the TIF files.
I think that you really need to think about upgrading your system sooner than later.

  • Can I recover these photos!?  Help!

As described here: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=5949036#5949036 I lost a bunch of photos in iPHOTO. But here's the update. I'm wondering if there's hope for me to recover these photos.
Based on what I read on the forum, I figured out that I had to reconstruct my iPHOTO library. Before I did this, I made a back up of the iPHOTO library file and saved it under a different name. Okay, I tried a couple of ways to reconstruct the library file, but nothing worked. I was resigned to the fact that I lost the images.
Well, last night, out of curiosity, I looked through the event just to see how many photos were gone. My camera numbers file consecutively, so this was an easy task. I'm at work, so I don't have the exact numbers, but out of about 300 photos in the event, about 35 or so were lost. Now here's the interesting thing, just out of further curiosity, I put a few file names into finder to see if it could find the pics (e.g., img_3333). Well it found the files in the iphoto library file that I backed up. The only thing is that it's not in the "original" or "modified" folder. I believe it's in a folder called "data". (I can be more specific when I get back to my Mac.) From the size of the file it's absolutely clear that it's only the thumbnail, though. (I shoot with a 10MP camera, so the files are quite large.) They're also found in a file with a .xml extension.
Anyway, now that i see the thumbnails there are definitely some that I want to recover if possible (One is a f18 blowing by me at very close range and only 10 or 15 feet off the runway!) Is there any hope to recover these from the back up file?
any help would be appreciated! Mahalos

Sorry for the lack of details, but I guess there's nothing really to tell. Everything was fine, the pictures were there, no problems. I loaded them up around Oct 14th, so about a month and a half ago. I showed them to a bunch of people already because I was showing off my new 24" iMAC. I looked at them plenty myself and my screen saver even points to that event.
Anyway, my father-in-law returns from being overseas for the past several months, so I was showing him pics from when he was gone (plus again I'm showin' off my new mac!). As I'm double-clicking images, instead of the image blowing up to full screen I get these huge exclamation points or blank screen. As I'm showing him pics, I notice this is happening for a lot of the images I'm trying to show him.
From my vast experience with XP, I figure something is corrupt. At this point, I hit the forums and try to reconstruct the library.
Here's the weird thing from today. i used time-machine to go back to my events and I do see some of the images that are missing. (some of them have blank frames with exclamation points in them) When I try to restore the image, it looks like everything is fine, but then I get an error message indicating that the file is missing. so I don't know what's going on. I know the pics were there on the date indicated on Time Machine, so I'm not sure why they're not there?

  • Repair of demaged photos with elements

    Hallo,
caused by a flood in my location (Bavaria/Germany), I have many demaged photos, which where stored in cellar, which was flooded. The photos are dirty and wet, but they can be cleaned and dehumidified. Many photos have now areas with ruined colours (see uploaded sample image below) and "fire blizzards" on it. My question: can I prepare demaged photos with photoshop elements (8, 9 or 11) in that way, that I get back a good picture? Or is there no chance to do this?
    regards
    hfreiwald

I don't know Corel PSP X5 but from your description it sounds like PSE has much of the same tools. The Clone tool could certianly be used to fix a lot of the speckles and scratches. My old PSE version 2 does not have this, but there is the Healing Brush (similar to Corel area correction brush?) which might do a a better job, epecially on the scratches.
Here I used the Clone tool to fix some scratches/speckles on the man in the foreground and used the Dodge tool to lighten the left portion of the picture.
Again, PSE11 might have other tools to do a better overall job than my PSE2.

  • I can't access edited photos with iphoto

I am new to iphoto 08.
I have preferences set up to edit iphoto images with photoshop CS3. After editing a photo, I use the option save in same folder but iPhoto does not show the edited photo, just the unedited photos. I can see the location of the new photo using spotlight (the path indicates that the photo is in the same folder as the unedited photos in iPhoto) but am unable to see the photo in iPhoto.
    Any ideas? Thanks, David

    David:
    Maybe this will help:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Photos in Elements Organizer 8 have developed a ? mark on the thumbnail. Cannot print.

Some of my photos in Elements Organizer 8 have developed a ? mark on the thumbnail.  I no longer can print a photo from these.  How do I get rid of the problem?

Thank you for a prompt reply,  the photos have not been moved or deleted.  The only thing in common is all problem photos were originally sent via e-mail.  The files go missing without any action on my part after a few months. I can get the missing file to give a computer location, but cannot get the system to “reinstate” the photo in elements to be printed.

  • How can i recover deleted photos from my iphone 5 - help!!

How can i recover deleted photos from my iphone 5 - help!!
I have tried many online programs but nothing seems to recover the last 60 photos i accidentally deleted.

i have i cloud but because my phone memory had been so full lately i believe it wasnt being backed up?
the last back up noted on my phone is 9 nov 2013 - i deleted the photos just on monday - does this mean i can still recover them somehow?
they were never imported to a comp but yes the pics were saved on my photo stream buti acutally first deleted off photo stream. what i did was create a folder within my albums then added the 60 photos to the album, then deleted 1 off photo stream to test and it didnt delete from my new folder, then deleted all off photo stream and then i thought i could delete off camera roll, then did that and realised it also deleted off my new folder created - so was left with nothing!
if you know anyway pls help?

  • Can i recover my photos from iphone stuck in recovery mode?

Can I recover my photos from an iphone 4 stuck in recovery mode?

    Not likely.
You can try a reset (Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears) to see if it kicks it out of recovery but most likely you will need to restore.
Did you backup with iTunes or iCloud?

  • How can I recover deleted photos from my camera roll?

How can I recover deleted photos from my camera roll and my photo stream?
    Please, help me!

I finally got up with a solution.
All you need is the photo file from your last backup.
You can extract this file from your backup by using iBackupbot for itunes. Get this via:
    http://www.icopybot.com/itunes-backup-manager.htm
Once you get this file you extract the photos in form of original database file. The screenshots on the website will help you to know how to extract the files.
Okay so now when you've got the photo file you simply need to SSH into your phone to /private/var/mobile/Library/photo were you'll already see a photo file.
Replace the old photo file that you've extracted from the backup by the one that already exist in.
Don't forget to keep an extra copy of the new photo file if in case you go wrong somewhere.
It worked for me and I hope it works for you too.
Thanks mende1, you were indirectly helpful.

  • Can I sync Photoshop photos with tags to Android phone

Can I sync Photoshop photos with tags to Android phone

The easiest method is to get the free Picasa which works well alongside elements and will index everything on your hard drive automatically. Elements tags and captions will show up in Google Picasa and you can sync via an Android app on your phone.

  • I have a large number of photos imported into iPhoto with the dates wrong.  How can I adjust multiple photos (with varying dates) to the same, correct, date?

I have a large number of photos imported into iPhoto with the dates wrong.  How can I adjust multiple photos (with varying dates) to the same, correct, date?

If I understand you correctly, when you enter a date in the Adjust Date and Time window, the picture does not update with the date you enter.  If that is the case then something is wrong with iPhoto or your perhaps your library.
How large a date change are you putting in?  iPhoto currently has an issue with date changes beyond about 60 years at a time.  If the difference between the current date on the image and the date you are entering is beyond that range that may explain why this is not working.
If that is not the case:
Remove the following to the trash and restart the computer and try again:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.iphoto
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto (There may be more than one. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: to get to the "home > library" hold down option on the keyboard and click on "Go" > "Library" while in the Finder.
    Let me know the results.
