Can I reinstall icloud on my mac?

I ncan't enable mail &notes unter icloud in system preferences - it asks me to create a @me.com add - I want to sign in with myexisting @me.com address instead of the id i use for iTunes. How can I do that?

I want to sign in with myexisting @me.com address
you need to visit www.icloud.com and migrate your old ME.com account over to iCloud. After that you can use the Apple-ID to log in iCloud from Mac or iOS.

How can I remove iCloud from my Mac Book and iPad and Mac Book Air and then just reload back on the MB Air and iPad only, which have a different user with a separate Apple ID?

You have quite muddied up the waters, I'm afraid. Assuming you now have a single GUID partition formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled, you should try reinstalling Lion:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • HT4759 how can i install icloud to my mac which is running on Mac OS X version 10.6.8?

how can i install icloud to my mac which is running on Mac OS X version 10.6.8 ?

You must first upgrade to 10.7.5 or later.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

No.  You must be running at least 10.7.5 to get some of the basic iCloud features. And you Mac must be able to run Lion:  System requirements for OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6 - Apple Support

You won't find iCloud in Snow Leopard. Upgrade to Mountain Lion.

  • HT5625 Can't get icloud on my mac?

How do I get icloud to show up in my system preferences? It isn't there at all.I

iCloud requires OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher.  If you’re running 10.6.8 or earlier you will need to upgrade to either Lion higher in order to set up iCloud on your Mac.  First check to see if your system meets the system requirements to upgrade.
    Lion system requirements are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Mountain Lion requirements are shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5444.
Mavericks requirements are shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842.
If you can run Mavericks, you can purchase an upgrade from the Mac App Store.  If you can only run Lion or Mountain Lion, contact the online store in your country and purchase a redemption code to download it from the Mac App Store.
After upgrading, you will find iCloud in System Preferences>iCloud on your Mac, and can set it up as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html.
Before upgrading, you may want to check the compatibility of your existing programs by checking here: http://roaringapps.com/apps:table.

Your signature says you have 10.6.2.
@knitternutter: you don't state you system (please always do so).
Snow Leopard and earlier are not compatible with iCloud: the minimum requirement is Lion 10.7. 2 - as Lion is no longer available you need Mountain Lion if your machine is capable of being upgraded to it.
MobileMe closed in July. Even if your username and password are correct, you can't sign in in the MobileMe preference pane because there is nothing to sign in to.
I know that the login and password are the ones that I use for my Mac
If you mean your username and password for your user account on your Mac, this has nothing to do with MobileMe or iCloud. If you had a paid for MobileMe account you would have a username in the form [email protected] or @mac.com and you could use this to open an iCloud on Lion or above. Otherwise you would have to create or use your Apple ID, again on Lion or above.

  • Can't reinstall Icloud 4.01

I first tried to update 3.1 Icloud to 4.01 through the Apple Software Update program several times. It failed and said to do a manual only install through Tools. I did that several times. If fails with the message 'There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact support personnel or package vendor'. I then removed Icloud through Control Panel, Programs and Features. I then downloaded Icloud for Windows from the Apple site, again the install failed with the 'There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact support personnel or package vendor'. When I did the 'manual only' it copied 'SetupAdmin' application and 'iCloud64'  Windows Installer Package' to the 'administrator/AppData/Local/Apple/Apple Software Update' folder. When I run 'iCloud64' I get the message stated twice above. When I run 'SetupAdmin' it brings up the install window:
    User Account Control
Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?
    Program Name: iCloud
    Verified Publisher: Apple Inc.
File Origin: Hard Drive on this computer
I then select the 'Yes' option and nothing comes up, nothing happens.
    Please help, Thank you.

  • How can i get icloud on my mac os x 10.6.8

    need help plz!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm afraid you can't get the full iCloud functions: Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud. You cannot set up a new iCloud account on Snow Leopard. However as you are running iOS5 on your iPhone or iPad you can use that to set up a new account. Go to http://appleid.apple.com and create a new Apple ID. Then follow the instructions here:
    http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ios.html
Once set up on your iPhone, you can set Mail on your Mac up manually to access your iCloud email:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard
You may be able to sync your calendars to iCloud by means of an unsupported hack, and there is a convoluted hack which has been reported as working for Address Book (and as not working by others - I've not tried it), but iCloud's other facilities, such as PhotoStream, will not work. This page outlines the situation when you migrate to iCloud, including a link to the calendar hack:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudSL.html
There are a couple of third-party solutions which may be of interest.
BusyCal is an iCal-like calendar application with extra facilities: it can sync with the iCloud Calendar while running on Leopard, Snow Leopard or Lion. A single user licence (two machines allowed) is $49.99.
Soho Organizer can sync Calendars and Contacts with iCloud on Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion. A single user licence (multiple machines allowed) is $99.99.
(I have no connection with either firm.)

  • Can't locate icloud on my mac

    Mac OS X (10.6.8)  < your profile
You need to upgrade to Lion v10.7.2 in order to setup an iCloud account.

You can download Lion v10.7 from the App Store but make sure your Mac meet's Lion's requirements

  • Can I get iCloud on my Mac?

I have a Macbook OS X, Version 10.6.8, purchased a couple of years ago.  I don't see the iCloud in my System Preferences and I am trying to get pictures that I backed up to iCloud from my iPad.  I can't seem to locate these pictures.  Is my Macbook too old?  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

You can set Snow Leopard up to access the email on an existing iCloud account which has been set up on a compliant device, and you may be able to sync iCal using an unsupported (and possibly unreliable) hack, but no other facilities will work. You cannot open an iCloud account on Snow Leopard.
This page outlines the limited use you can make of an existing iCloud account with Snow Leopard:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudSL.html
To make full use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mountain Lion, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.
The requirements for Mountain Lion are listed here:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications). (If you are currently pre-Snow Leopard you will have to upgrade to that to access the Mac App Store: it's available in the online Apple Store.)
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

  • Can i download icloud on my mac with snow leopard?

Where do i find the icloud download for my mac?

You can't download it - you need Lion (which includes icloud); you can purchase it at the app store as long as your iMac is a Core 2 Duo and has a minimum 2 GB RAM - mind you, that is an absolute minimum: 4 GB would be much better.
