Can I reinstall my OS (on iMac) and not have to worry about losing my Creative Suite?

Every now and then I feel the need to reinstall my OS to clean my computer, but since I have gotten CS I have been in fear of losing my copy if I do so. Can I back up the Suite or can I reinstall using my products serial or is there anything else I can do to ensure I will not lose my product?

You can do a clean install on your Mac. But you can't reinstall from a backup. You need to reinstall from your original install disc, or from a backup of the install file if you downloaded the software. If you don't have such a backup, you can download the software fresh from here:

Using a normal backup of your computer, or using the Migration utility doesn't restore all the miscellaneous files in different locations that Adobe places in different locations.

Numbers sorts full rows on values in selected column(s). The technique for sorting a single column is essentially the same as Jerry is describing for Pages tables—separate the (data in the) column to be sorted, sort it, return it to the table.
In Numbers the actual column may be separated from the original table, sorted, then returned. In Pages, the data must be extracted, sorted, then pasted back in, overwriting the unsorted data (if it was left in the original table).
iWork tables follow a database model in which each row is a Record, and each column holds a Field within the records.
As evidenced by the current question (and several similar questions arising in the Numbers community) that model doesn't apply to the way some users, especially some who come in from the MS Excel world, use tables.
With Excels model—islands of data on a single large table, the ability to sort one or a selected few columns of data makes sense. One 'island' may comprise only cells AA21:AH50. Sorting that small 'table' should be possible without disturbing the rest of rows 21-30, which are probably part of one or more other 'data islands' in the sea that is a MS Excel spreadsheet.
In Numbers, each of those 'islands' would be a separate Table, and that Table would be sortable without disturbing other Tables in the document.

How can I switch my primary apple ID and not have to buy apps again?

I would like to switch my primary ID to another one because I don't have access to that email address anymore. I have few apps which I bought under that ID which I'd like to keep if possible. Furthermore, I'd like to use the original apple ID for my icloud account and use the new ID for the same device for itunes store. Is this possible? Thanks.

Yes you can sign out of iCloud and log in with a different account. (System Preferences > iCloud > Sign Out)

Launch Keychain Access and click on Login in the left hand pane and then on Passwords. Next do search for Apple in the search field at the top and click on Apple ID Authenicication in the list that comes up. That will give you the ID no. and password.

No. You cannot link your contacts to hers. However, you can use Home Sharing to share the information:

I'm no Lion expert, but I believe you can boot from the Recovery partition by pressing the Command and R keys on startup, then reinstall.

Lion uses Recovery to reinstall OS X. Press Command and R keys when your Mac starts, open Disk Utility, erase the drive and reinstall Lion. The other Mac has probably got its hard disk damaged, so take the Mac to an Apple Store

I bought a Syba SD-CM-UAUD USB Stereo Audio Adaptor and tried to use it. All the sound came in on the left channel, the sound level was very high and could not be adjujsted down, and was very distorted. After about 5 minutes of trying to adjust, my iMac showed a dialog that said It was having a kernnel panic! I discontinued trying and returned the Syba. Can anyone recommend an adaptor that will work with the iMac and Toast Spin Doctor?

How do I determine if the memory problems are with my imac and not the RAM?

I've heard of some vague problems with intel imacs and their memory slots. I'm about to replace (for the 3rd time) RAM, and think I need to test further to see if the problem is with my imac and not the RAM. Right now I put back in the original 2-512 sticks that came with the imac, and the rember test is only showing 594mb (odd amt!) testing OK. But, in "about my mac" it will show as 1gb.
Problems I've had with each set of RAM: occasional KP's, excessive spinning beachballs, sudden closing of apps (esp. if I have several apps running), won't fax usually (will hear a fax tone instead of a dial tone at the onset), disappearing documents section under my username.
I bought this imac refurbed thru the apple store last fall: 2.16 C2D 20" imac
Any ideas before I have to separate myself from my imac to send it in??

The pin strips on the new modules maybe a little thicker than your original modules, and it's going to take more force to seat them properly. If the new Memory Specifications are correct I would try them again. Slide them in untill they stop, then push real hard untill you feel them seat into place.
I've never seen a report about an odd amount of ram shown. If reinstalling the ram modules does not solve your issue, and may be a indication that there is something wrong with one of the slots.
