I do not use youtube. It seems to lack any justifying attribute.
Can I remove it?

This is a mystery. Both YouTube apps have different icons so they're not duplicates.
One is a picture of an old fashioned television and the other is the YouTube logo.
The old fashioned TV was able to be disabled in the ipod settings so that must be the one that belongs.
I'm pretty sure the other one also came with the unit.
Maybe I should start a thread?

Tap and hold the app until all apps begin to wiggle. you should see an X in teh upper left corner of the app. Tap that.
If you appear to be unable to delete any apps, it may be that restrictions have been set on the iPad preventing app deletion. Open the Settings app > General > Restrictions to check that.

Can I remove the compass app?

The golfing powers that be have determined we can no longer use our Golf GPS apps in competition because Apple have a pre-installed compass on the phone. Hopefully if the golfers generate enough fuss about this then Apple will release a software update that allows its removal. Removing the compass app would not stop the compass working in Golf GPS apps. The compass is a hardware feature with software to view its output. The phone needs to know which way it is pointing to provide an accurate GPS view.

This is highly suspicious, as there is no Flash Player for iOS. That seems like a message from a scam site, but it shouldn't be a scam if you're using the official YouTube app.
First, make sure that you have the official YouTube app, and not an imitator. If you do, try deleting the app, then re-download it.
If that doesn't help, that suggests that your network, or the DNS server your iPad is using, has been compromised. Can you try other iOS devices on the same network, to see if they exhibit the same problem? (Comparing to a laptop accessing the YouTube site isn't meaningful, because I don't know if the YouTube app accesses the same site or uses a special site designed specifically for that app.) Also, check to see if your iPad behaves the same way on another unrelated network, such as a free wifi network at a public library, coffee house or whatnot.

Why i can't open the youtube app in my ipad mini??

Let's try and see if it is indeed onboard. Use Spotlight for the task. Drag finger down starting from the middle of the screen: that will drop down Spotlight's search box, where you'll type YouTube (and watch the search occurring live as you type). It will also tell you where it is, IF it is.
If it doesn't work, may be cause it has not been upgraded for iOS 7 (there WAS an update). So, we'll delete it for sure in a roundabout way: go Settings / General / Usage and look for it in the list under Storage. If it doesn't appear in the summary list, tap on Show All Apps to expand. Tap on the YouTube name to visit the next screen where you'll see the version number (which currently is v2.1.0), the space occupied and, most important, the Delete App control. Tap on that and it will begone. Now you can download it afresh from the App Store.

Can I set the YouTube app to default to High Quality?

I've looked through the settings several times, no luck. Every time I go to watch a YouTube video it defaults to Normal Quality, I want it to default to High Quality. Can this be done?

Try pressing the "HQ" button in the lower right hand corner of the video. You can also tap the menu button, hit more, and select "Watch in high quality."

Removing the social app 1.5 from N8 Belle

How can I remove the Social app version 1.5 from my N8 Belle. Is there a component catalogue with descriptions what to delete in program manager?
I don't need Social/Twitter/Facebook on my business phone especially when these apps are modifying my addressbook.

You can go into Settings -> Installations -> Already installed and remove everything Social as I did
But if you do this then you will always be "warned" that you have an update waiting for you!

I updated my iPad to iOS6 and the YouTube app is no longer there, no restrictions have been set and I have checked them to make sure they haven't been. I can't get it back and have no idea where to find it or get it back on my iPad, anyone have an answer

Just like the topic states........updated iPad, and lost the YouTube app, and no it's not because of restrictions cause I've checked......it's gone and I can't get it back, I've even hooked up to my computer and iTunes to see if I could get it back there also but no luck there either. Any help would be appreciated

youtube is no longer a built in app on ios6. Apple contract with google expired so youtube and google maps were removed. try the app store or youtube mobile website

The application Youtube is gone from the home page and is no longer listed in the Settings. When I use Safari to access Youtube most of the videos will not play and state "Not authorized by subscriber" or another such statement. The YouTube app is not included in iOS 6 (I think because the licensing agreement with google ended). You will either need to try one of the YouTube apps from the store (there is an iPhone optimised app from google, and other people have said that they are working on an iPad version), or (if this isn't the version that you have tried) try accessing the mobile version via Safari : http://m.youtube.com (you can create a home screen shortcut for the site)
