Can I renew iCloud storage plan with an iTunes card?

is it possible to renew an iCloud  storage plan using an iTunes card?

I think my original answer was wrong; I was thinking of an Apple store gift card, and I'm not sure if this is considered the same as an itunes card.
Apple says:
You cannot use Apple Store gift cards as a form of payment to upgrade your iCloud storage (payment methods accepted include iTunes store credit, credit cards, and debit cards).

Is it possible to pay for iCloud storage plan with money from iTunes?

    Hey LARISAFROMTX,
Thanks for the question. Yes, you can use iTunes Store credit to pay for an iCloud storage upgrade:
Accepted payment methods for iCloud storage upgrades include credit cards, debit cards, and iTunes Store credit. If you don't have enough iTunes store credit to complete your upgrade, you'll be charged the remaining amount. Apple Store gift cards are not accepted as payment for upgrading iCloud storage.

  • Is there a way to share icloud storage plan with family members?

I have set-up my icloud storage plan to 200G and i want to share the plan with my husband that only has the default, can i do that? I already have family sharing of photos, apps, etc.. but i want to share storage space. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but iCloud Storage is tied directly to the iCloud ID that it is linked to, and only to that ID.

  • HT4847 can you share icloud storage space with a family member?

I used to have MobileMe family, and my wife and I are now both receiving alerts that we are running out of icloud space. Can you buy a shared icloud plan?
    Thanks

If you are both using the same Apple ID, then you can share the iCloud storage that you have. However sharing an Apple ID for iCloud is not really recommended, it results in confusion over contacts, calendar, notes etc etc.

  • HT201318 how to upgrade icloud storage plan with  10.6.8?

I haven't upgraded my computer software, so how to upgrade my icloud storege plan as when inside system preferences
there is no icloud icon just the old mobile me. Thanks

You can only do this from a Mac running 10.7.5 or above, or Mountain Lion; or an iOS5 or above device; or the iCloud Control Panel on a compliant version of Windows.
If you only have access to the Mac and don't want to upgrade the system you could go to an Apple Store and ask the 'Genius' to do it for you (make an apppointment). Note that you won't be able to cancel the automatic renewal yourself .
If you decide to upgrade your Mac you will need to check that it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.
The requirements for Mountain Lion are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
    and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

  • Will I lose free storage by renewing iCloud storage plan before Sept. 30th?

A former MobileMe user, I just received the emailed reminder that my free 20 GB additional iCloud storage will end on Sept. 30th. I'm presently using 17 GB, so I want to continue my 25 GB plan.
My question is: If I "Purchase Current Plan" before Sept. 30th, will the purchased plan not begin until that date and thus not expire until Sept. 30th of next year OR will the purchased plan begin immediately on the date of purchase; i. e. would I be wasting money by purchasing now instead of waiting until the end of September?
I could find no answer to my question in iCloud's email or in their linked "For more information" article.
    Don

The mystery continues. Here's what I get when I go to "iCloud > Manage > Change storage plan:"
When I saw that, I thought "Fine, they'll automatically renew and charge me on Sept. 30th."
However, when I go to "View account," I see this:
I suppose iCloud will automatically renew and charge me, but it's certainly not clear from their email, from their "For more information" article or when I view my account in System Preferences.
My view in the blue "20 GB" screen shot might be different from the one in the Tech note because I signed up for the 20 GB plan last year. I think it was before they announced the free 20 GB for MobileMe users. I clicked to purchase the plan but was not charged the $40. Obviously, though, I was entered into the 20 GB automatically renewing plan.
But why then did they just send me the email saying:
As a thank you for being a former MobileMe member, you received a 20 GB complimentary storage upgrade when you moved to iCloud. Your upgrade expires on September 30, 2013.
When it expires, your iCloud storage will be automatically adjusted to the free 5 GB plan. Note that you are currently using 17.38 GB of storage. If you exceed your storage plan on September 30, 2013, iCloud Backup, Documents in the Cloud, and iCloud Mail will temporarily stop working.
To continue using these iCloud features without interruption, reduce the amount of iCloud storage you are using or purchase a storage plan by September 30, 2013.
    Only Apple knows....
Thanks to you and Kappy for your responses.

  • Can't downgrade iCloud storage plan

Can't downgrade my wife's plan.  Says I still have the 20G plan but we don't need it.  Can't select free plan.  Tried restarting and have read several articles.

Don't know if it will help or not, but try resetting your phone (hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release), then try downgrading again.

  • I can´t donwgrade my icloud storage plan

    Hello,
I bought a new storage plan for my phone, but it never worked, I could never back up my phone to my iCloud! And yes I followed all the instructions on your site, like plugging to a source and connecting with the Wi-Fi network. Besides all of this, it remained impossible to complete the back up. So I decided to do it manually in my computer and cancel my iCloud storage plan because of it uselessness, and on top of all the hard time I had, like paying and trying to make that **** back up work, you are now giving me a hard time on downgrading my plan! I demand that it´s downgraded right away! It´s been three months that I am paying something I´m not abble to use and nobody in apple support can find a way to help me!
I beg for someone to help me please!
    Thank you

You can cancel an iCloud storage upgrade but only within 15 days of buying:
Apple seem to have made this as difficult as possible. You may be able to do this using http://expresslane.apple.com -  click 'See all products and services',  then 'More Products and Services, then 'iCloud', 'Account and setup' then 'This topic is not listed'. Explain the situation in the box provided and wait for a response - include a phone number. However you may find you cannot proceed without entering a hardware serial number which is still eligible for AppleCare.
In that event you will need to phone them directly, using the Apple Online Store number given at the bottom of this page. The first person you speak to may tell you to do it from the iCloud website but this is not possible. Politely insist on escalating the issue to a more senior person and eventually you should be able to get through to someone who can deal with this (you may have to wait for them to call you back) - you will be asked security questions and for part of your credit card number to identify yourself.
If it is more than 15 but less than 45 days you may be able to get a partial refund by the same method.
If it is more than 45 days since you purchased the storage you cannot cancel it for a refund; you can downgrade your plan as from your next renewal date. Please see

  • Can you have one icloud storage plan for multiple devices

    hi,
i'm wondering if there is a way of consolidation various icloud storage plans into one.
i only use my free 5gb for my 5s as i back up photos to my mac, however my wife has already upgraded her storage plan for her 5c to the £1/month.
with the new release of backing up your entire photo library on you mac (which im keen to do) im going to need to upgrade my own account as the mac is set up for my apple id.
i currently also pay for itunes match.
im keen to know if there is a way we can use one large back up facility for: my 5s, the mrs's 5c, the mac, with out paying for multiple storage plans.
im guessing the itunes match is stand alone but if i can have one payment for large storage and put everything there that would be ideal, and seem a reasonable request for most families.
    any help greatly appreciated
    thanks
    Scott

    Accounts can't be merged.

  • How can I cancel my iCloud Storage plan?

When I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 and it turned into a "brick" I was forced to use iCloud to backup and restore and it kept complaining that I had 5.9 gb which is over the 5.0Gb free storage provided, so I purchased an upgrade - in a dazed and confused state as my iPhone was a "brick" I must have done this twice to recover my iPhone.
Result is that I now have an additional 20Gb Storage Plan.
Nice email saying that I can cancel it within 15 days, but not where or how to do this. I spoke to Apple iPhone support who said its another division, try iTunes support website and I should be able to email and cancel - but not seen any email address.
Tried iCloud Express Lane but they want £20 for an incident ticket which is about what I paid for the 20gb Storage Plan!
Problem overall is that I use an iMac (PPC not Intel) on Mac OS 10.5.8 and although I have upgraded to iTunes 10.5, I am finding that WiFi sync or iCloud do not work unless you are on Mac OS 10.6 (needs Intel) or greater.
So I want to cancel my iCloud storage plan. Please can someone help me.

    Taken directly from http://help.apple.com/icloud/index.html#mmd602084a
    Do any of the following:
On your iOS device’s Home screen:
Tap Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Buy More Storage.
Tap Downgrade Options, then tap to put a checkmark beside your current plan.
To confirm you want to set up iCloud to renew your current storage plan when the next payment is due, tap Confirm.
    On your Mac:
Choose Apple Menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud.
Click Manage, then click Buy More Storage.
Click Downgrade Options, and enter your Apple ID password.
Click to select your current plan (so that a checkmark appears), and then click Done.
    On your Windows computer:
Choose Start Menu > Control Panel > “Network and Internet,” then click iCloud.
Click Manage, then click Buy More Storage.
Click Downgrade Options, and enter your Apple ID password.
Click to select your current plan (so that a checkmark appears), and then click Done.

  • HT201318 How can I get a storage plan on iCloud that's more than 50GB?

How can I get a storage plan on iCloud that's more than 50GB?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you purchase a higher-tier storage plan for your iCloud account to replace your existing storage plan (for example, a 20 GB plan to replace a 10 GB plan), the existing plan will be canceled and you will receive a prorated refund for the time remaining. The new storage plan is applied to your iCloud account and the annual payment date is updated to reflect the purchase date for the new plan.

  • Will my iCloud storage plan be paid for with my iTunes credits if I have any?

If I have iTunes credits, can they be used to pay for my iCloud storage plan? If they can, is it automatic or do I need to contact Apple to arrange it?
Thanks to all who can answer this for me.

Money from a gift card can be spent on iCloud storage upgrades, but this will require having a credit card on file; the upgrade is a subscription model and not a one-time charge.
