Can I replace an animated Image

Using AE 5. I have imported a .png and animated it but now unfortunately I need to replace it with another .png but want to keep it’s position and animation properties ( I don’t want to reanimate it) Is there a “replace image" or some other way to replace the image but keep it animated?
I tried selecting the image in the project files then selecting (replace footage > browse to file) but I think this only replaced the image in the Project folder and not in the timeline?

Replacing footage in the project window will replace footage in the timeline because the footage in the project panel is only a reference to the original. If you've replaced the png it has to be replaced in the comp because the original doesn't exist any more. If your original footage is still there then you didn't replace it.
If you want to replace the footage in a layer in the timeline with different footage from the project panel then all you do is select the layer in the timeline then select the new footage in the project panel, hold down the Alt/Option key and drag the new footage from the Project Panel to the Timeline. All Done, All Thru...
These instructions are available if you type Replace footage in the Search field at the top right corner of AE or if you search the help files, or if you look at the keyboard shortcuts from the help file.

How can I replace a damaged Image Capture in locked Lion Application folder?

I am running a MacBook Air on 10.7.2. Image Capture is "damaged or incomplete" and cannot be opened. I have a copy of IC from my other mac running Lion, but cannot copy it into the Apps folder on my MacBook Air because IC cannot be modified or deleted since it is "needed by Mac OS X." Is there an easy way to unlock the Apps folder? Thanks.

I finally figured out a way to do this. I right-clicked to show the package contents for the corrupted application. Then copied in the contents from a functioning version. Gave administrator permission to make the change. Relaunched the finder and the damaged application was back up and running and no longer greyed out.

Image Capture.app is missing. How can I replace it

I cannot find Image Capture.app on my Mac (OS 10.5). I assume it should be in the Applications folder. Can I replace it and how?

In browser editing: Can my client add new images with hyper-links to their websites without having to replace images already there?

My client would like to be able to add new images to their site themselves and use them as hyper-links to external sites without having to replace an old image with the new one (or blank place holding images - far from ideal). Is there ANY way that this is possible? They do not wish to update and add new images/links regularly and it is certanly not intended to be used as a blog or way of being able to constantly keep content new and fresh otherwise I would set them up with a blog account and add that to the site. It is merely a way of adding links to other local businesses every once in a while.
Please see the page they wish to update... Friends. (Please excuse the layout... the customer will not be able to resize or edit the images themselves and wishes to add them as-is!)
Thanks in advance for any help. If anybody knows how I can ask an Adobe official mod, that would be great... that, or make a request for a future addition in an update?

Hi Ravi,
it is possible to replace an OTR Text with an image.
You first have to define the Link in the OTR Text where your image is located. This can be everywhere in the Internet or better on a secured intranet server which everyone can reach easily without permission problems. Maybe in the DMZ.
You can even link it into the MIME Repository of your SAP System as well.
Then you have to put that OTR Text into a
<htmlb:textview> Tag and ensure that the switch
" encode = "TRUE" is enabled.
Well thats all.
Keep in mind that the a different language, set in the Internet Explorer or other viewing instances, disables the link if it not "translated" into that language.
This can also be an advantage if you got multilingual fixed pictures with drawn text in it.
I suggest you put all your links ( with a Value Field and at least a name field) into a seperate table into the repository for easy maintaining.

Can you replace existing images in Captivate 7 the way you can when using InDesign? I need to replace some images but wondering if I'll need to reformat, resize, rename for the Advanced Action, etc.

The work flow is a bit more complicated than in InDesign (keeps only a link to the image as you know in the frame). I understand the problem with the advanced/shared action references. This is my work flow, maybe someone else has an easier, shorter one:
Right-click on the image and use 'Find in Library' or use CTRL-ALT-F if it works on your keyboard (doesn't on my AZERTY one)
In the Library use the right-click menu to open the Properties or double-click the name of the image
In that dialog box, choose 'Import' and choose your new image; for some reason you cannot choose from the Library however, which I find really sad because I'm used to import all assets to the Library.
Drawback: if the new image has not the same width/height ratio, it will adapt to the original size of the image, you can use Edit image to repair. You'll keep the name of the image, you don't have to change advanced/shared actions.

Just grab and look through Help in Carbon Copy and SuperDuper, both excellent and each has their use - together - for cloning.
And do you have two TM backup sets? ought to consider that also, rotate daily or make a weekly set. Otherwise you are putting all your eggs in the proverbial one basket.

I have gif animated images that are not showing up in my web page when I am view in Firefox. The images are fine in IE. I would like to tell all of our clients to use FireFox but with this issue I can't recommend firefox. Please let me know what I can do.

I am using a word document, converting to html and I am not seeing my animated image.No problem in IE 9 and I wouldn't think it would be a problem in Firefox.

Am working on a webpage with some animated gifs in it. Everything works fine when it is loaded up, the images display and animate continuously. But these gifs may be updated on the server. I have some javascript that checks if the gifs have been updated by checking the modified meta data. If it has that image is reloaded. this works fine and the new image is brought up but that animation is never started. it just sits there on the first frame.

Noel, I am doing something wrong. Here's what I did.
1) I exported my type from Illustrator as a .png.
2) I then imported the .png into the Flash Library.
3) I then selected the keyframe in the Flash movie and then
selected the .jpg on flash stage. I then see in the "Properties"
inspector that the "SWAP" option is availavble.
4) I then look in the SWAP list of images and the .png I
imported to the Library is not in the list but the .png is in the
Library.
What am I doing wrong? Can I not swap a .jpg for a .png file?

Look at menu Window and open the Animation panel and create a frame animation use save for web to save an animated gif or menu file>export to export a sequences of images for the animation. The information may be a little off for I don't have access to CS3 any more and CS6 replace the Animation palette with the timeline palette which can do both frame animations and video. Photoshop help has some information on the subject.

How can I replace just the corrupt page(s) in the domain file of iWeb using Time Machine?

I back up with Time Machine and have an extensive elaborate website I created in iWeb '09 over a couple months and publish to a local folder and then upload to my server, but in the last few days I notice certain pages (that I haven't even worked on or touched) somehow become corrupted or "cross-contaminated" with elements and images from other pages. Once I see they are corrupt I make sure not to publish them (if the current published versions are the correct, non-corrupt versions) or if they did get published I can use Time Machine to retrieve the .html file and page files folder for that specific page and replace it in my published folder/server so it shows correctly on the Web. However, that does not replace the corrupted page(s) you see and work with when you launch iWeb and try to edit or continue working on that page.
I am confused as to how I go to the package contents of the domain file and replace just that page with a previous version from time machine. I don't want to replace the entire domain file because I have new changes I made to other pages even in the past hours. How can I keep the good pages and just get earlier, non-corrupted versions of the corrupt page(s)? I know it's not as easy as with the published site folder where you can just replace the page's .html file and folder, but I don't want to have to re-create the corrupted page(s) from scratch or have to replace it with the last non-corrupted domain file and then have to redo all my recent changes to new pages I made before discovering the corrupt page(s). Thanks for your help as now I can't make changes to the page(s) within iWeb itself.

Thanks for the response, Wyodor. I don't know what that is, but I'll have a look. Is it an alternative to iWeb or a way to transfer pre-existing iWeb sites? When you say merge domain files, is that like so multiple copies of the same site show up then you can pick and choose the non-corrupted pages and group them then delete the corrupted ones? I am on Snow Leopard with no plans or need to upgrade anytime soon.
And yes, I will read your links but just wanted to ask those questions. Maybe they'll answer my questions, maybe not.
I was able to discern that within the domain file is a domain folder with all the site folders, each with their own page ".gz" files which expand into ".xml" files. I was trying to figure out if you could simply drag the corrupt pages out that way and replace them with backup copies that are still good. I am having trouble discerning which pages are which as they all have random names like site-page-30F175E3-AE33-4F10-A490-1A096D9B185B.xml and although I expanded and opened each in Text Wrangler, I still couldn't discern which were which for sure, and trial and error proved cumbersome. Also, I did notice some of the later corrupted domain files had one or two more pages than the site itself has, so not sure how they got added or duplicated or what.
Again, I'll look at your links, but do you know about swapping out individual page .xml files this way within the domain file?

How can I exchange all the images in a slide show with new ones

I have 18 slide shows each is a different competition for our camera club. How can I exchange all the images from each slide show with new images as our club competitions commence? I am reluctant to just delete the slide show because I will have set it all back up. I want to leave the size shape and format of the show as is, but just exchange all of the current images with new ones. I am hoping there is a quick way to delete and replace all images for each show? Each slide show has around 40 images and I have 18 shows

1. Activate "thumbnails" in the configuration panel
2. Select one Thumbnail.
3. Rightclick and choose "Select same"
4. Press "backspace"
5. Open the configuration panel and load the new images.
