Can I Replace an Imported Ppro Sequence?

I set all my chapter points for 2 sequences in Premiere Pro. Then in Encore I used Abobe Dynamic Link to import one sequence and built all my menus. Now I want to use all the same menus and links for the 2nd sequence, but when I select the old sequence in Encore, the "Replace Asset" option is grayed out.

Sneed,
I cannot recall which version of PrPro/Encore you are using. Is it CS4?
You can use ADL to choose other Sequences from the linked Project, so can bring in more than the initial one. Jeff Bellune just did a reply with the exact steps for CS4 & CS5. It was within the last 2 mos. here. As I am on an earlier version of each program, I do not use ADL. Also, I work in DD 5.1 SS Audio, so no ADL there, even if I had CS4, or CS5.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Can't import video sequences saved as mpeg-2 files for video editing

    this is urgent!!!
is there a way of importing video sequences saved as mpeg-2 files? i don't have the dv tapes nor the videocam right now but need to edit the files pronto.
i can do this on a windows xp computer with pinnacle studio 9 except that someone else is using the computer also to meet an urgent deadline.
thank you for any help. btw, i'm a newbie w/ final cut.

FCE does not support that type of file. It is DV only editing program.
Depending on exactly what you have (do you have the orginal DVDs or VOB files) you could use something like DVxDVD to rip the files. MPEG Streamclip does this for free but you need the Apple MPEG2 compenent to work it. FFMEG is a shareware program ... it may be able to do this, but I'm not sure

  • How can I import image sequences into Fireworks???

How can I import image sequences into Fireworks???

    I quote:
Not specifically "import" but you can open a series of images as an animation. This will place each image in its own state, suitable for creating an animation.
    Choose File > Open
    Select the images
    Enable Open as animation.

  • Imported image sequence in PP CC 2014 causes animated layers to flicker

I have a project which has a primary layer formed of imported JPGs that are in sequence. These are shots from a time lapse and are sequentially named and imported without issue into Premier Pro. I then have a secondary layer with a simple After Effects composition that comprises a slow fade and animation of some title text. The problem I have is that during playback in PP (or once rendered) the animation of the text in the AA layer flickers. Watching it frame by frame in the preview window it is slowly fading in but each alternate frame it's opacity seems to go back one frame before advancing.
Now I can completely fix this by exporting the image sequence clip in my bin to a video file. If I then replace the image sequence with a video made using exactly the same images it works fine and the animation is perfectly smooth. My question is why does PP not treat the imported image sequence the same as a video with its interaction with other layers?

    Hi there.
Looking at the footage, you are exporting at 24P. There are books written on 24P and how to shoot (or edit) for it. What I see as a possible mistake.
You are moving the photo too fast across the screen. That could be the same as panning too fast in 24P. Same result. The video clips are moving much slower and don't show the staggering.
    Give it a try.

  • Import Image Sequence not importing all images

I have a sequence of 99 JPG images that I am trying to import into Premiere Pro. These images were created by an export from Lightroom.
When I perform the import starting at the first image, only 35 images are imported.
If I import the sequence starting at the 34th image, only 2 images are imported.
If I import the sequence starting at the 35th image, only 1 image is imported (and it is imported as an image file it appears).
If I import the sequence starting at the 36th image, the remaining images are imported.
I have tried a number of different settings for the export from lightroom, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. For example, if I export as TIFF I see the exact same problem. If I export as JPG using a smaller image size I see the exact same problem.
I have tried "Replace Footage..." to no effect.
When I inspect the image files using an image view there appear to be no issues with the files. File sizes are consistent and not inordinantly large (~5MB).
The filenames are all properly numbered as expected by Premiere Pro.
I have done this successfully dozens of times before this problem arose, and I have done it successfully a number of times since the problem arose. The problem appears to happen only with this particular set of images.
I can work around the problem by importing the images as two separate imports (one starting at the first image and a second starting at the 36th image) and putting them both in a single sequence. In fact, this spliced sequence looks as expected with no missing frames or anything else untoward that I can see.
I've poked around with this for a couple days, and cannot discern any other factors that may be causing this.
Does anybody have any idea what might be going on?

I checked the filenames again and they're properly sequenced with no extra or missing spaces or anything else that doesn't follow the pattern of the first 34 images. In fact, I took a screenshot of this, and in doing so I figured out what the problem is.
Here's a screenshot of the directory with all the images.
As I was reviewing this screenshot, I noticed that the "Date" column goes over midnight. Images 0001-0034 all took place before midnight, and images 0035-0099 took place after midnight.
This column shows the capture time of the images, coming from the camera and through the export from Lightroom. This is different from the creation date of the exported file, which is shown in the "Date modified" column (cropped out of screenshot). In other words, you can see that I took the pictures on February 25 and 26, but exported them on March 1.
To verify that this might be the problem I used "Edit Capture Time..." in Lightroom to shift all the images an hour earlier. This means that there is no longer a date change in the sequence as they all have capture times before midnight. I then exported the images from Lightroom again, and imported them into Premiere Pro.
When I do this, all the images are imported into Lightroom successfully.
I realize this is only one data point, but it sounds like Premiere Pro is maybe using the capture time as part of its sequencing heuristics, and for some reason it isn't handling a date change properly. Or maybe something else is afoot.
    What do you think?

  • Replacing footage with image sequence

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to replace footage with an image sequence. It seems like when I choose replace footage and navigate to my image sequence there is nothing I am able to check off for image sequence. So basically if I have an image sequence in my timeline, I can only replace it with a movie which defeats the purpose of using an image sequence. Thanks in advance!

You need to have a single directory filled with one or more supported still images which are named with a number a the end for the 'Image Sequence' checkbox to be un-grayed out in the 'Import', 'Replace Footage' or 'Locate Files' dialog. From the screenshot above, it looks like you've met all those criteria and that the checkbox is not even there, as opposed to being present but dim. On windows 8 (which it looks like you're on) that checkbox would be in between the 'File Name' label and the bottom of the file list area. The fact that you're not there makes me think your on an older version before we had all the relevant features. I'd have to check to remember just when that would have been, but I know that as of CS6 the 'Image Sequence' dialog was definitely there for the Locate Files and Import dialogs, so it's reasonable that it was an option in the replace footage dialog too. It may be something system specific which is not allowing all the UI to draw in correctly when using OS dialogs. In that case, Kevin's suggestion might still be viable since the Link & Locate workflow uses its own Premiere UI instead of OS dialogs.

  • AE crash after importing premiere sequence with trimmed r3ds. (Bug report)

(all tested in premiere and AE cs6, up to date from creative cloud) Hello, I have RED footage raw as r3ds, that I have edited in premiere. If I try to send that to after effects in premiere, or if I try to import the sequence directly through AE, The machine continually locks up over and over again until I close out the application. I have figured out potentially what is wrong and I have figured out an annoying work around.
I believe what the problem is, is that after effects is having a hard time reading the renamed and trimmed r3d clip. Point being, if I hit caps lock disabling preview, I can right click on the RED footage that was imported from premiere, and reveal in explorer (or finder for Mac, and yes, I have tested this on both OS) Then drag the original footage back into after effects, and then alt drag and replace the footage that is trimmed in the AE sequence, and lastly delete the premiere versions of the RED clips, then I can use it just fine. No more lagging, all is well.
This is a huge pain in the butt...Can this bug PLEASE be looked into for AE CC or Premiere CC whichever is causing the problem. It is very useful to cut in premiere and keylight/ special effects in AE. But this workaround is quite a time saver.
Can anyone else confirm this issue? I hgave confirmed it on a mac and a PC of cs6.
And if anyone has an easier workaround, that would also be appreciated, although, this was the quickest work around I could come up with.
    Thanks Adobe! Love your tools!

I have found another fix, which is much easier! But yes this is still broken and must be fixed. After you import the RED footage from the preiere file, with caps lock on, right click on the red footage and go to interpret footage> Main. At the bottome of the window that pops up, click more options, which should bring up the RED R3D Source settings. This is blank, with no video attatched...all you do is click reload from RMD, and the problem is solved.
This is still a massive pain, Can anyone from adobe confirm this problem, and confirm this work around?

  • How can I replace an administrators account?

I have an older Powerbook G4 laptop that someone else would like. How can I replace the adminsitrator's account?

    Hi Bob,
    2 ways to go...
      1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
       2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
       3. Click the Erase tab.
       4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
       5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
       6. Highlight the drive, select Partition Tab, then Format type... MacOS Extended Journalled, select the Security Options button, choose Zero Out Data, Erase... after completion do a new install.
    Or...
Open System Preferences>Accounts, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
In the same pref pane highlight your old account, click the little minus icon, then use Disk Utility to Secure Erase Free Space.

  • Quicktime Pro 7.6.9 crashes when I try to import image sequence

    Hi,
I'm running Quicktime Pro 7.6.9 on a Windows XP machine with service pack 3.
I shot some timelapses with my Nikon D7000 as jpegs and while trying to import the image sequences into Quicktime so I can export them out as .MOVs, I noticed that Quicktime crashes when ever I try to import a sequence that has 240 or more pictures. Most of my timelapses have 240 or 360 pictures. I was able to import a sequence that had only 180 pictures. Does Quicktime Pro 7.6.9. have an image sequence limit that I don't know about? I don't have any sequences that are anything between 180 and 240, so I can't test out numbers like 190, 200, 210, etc.
    Any ideas on what's happening?

The files are 4928x3264 JPEGs. I'm trying to make 1920x1080 .MOV files. Quicktime crashes as soon as I select the first pic from the image sequence.
I tried another sequence that had 600 pics and it worked fine, so it's obviously not some sort of image limit. But I can't figure out why these three sequences that each have 240 images would cause the program to crash everytime.

  • Importing picture sequence in Media Encoder ? like in the help

If you look in this help document   http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AdobeMediaEncoder/4.0/WS8A54CAA7-268E-4af0-B8A4-0EA3EACEC1A3.h tml
it says you can import TGA sequence and JPG sequence. From the document :
    - JPEG and JPEG sequence (JPE, JPG, JFIF)
    - Targa and Targa sequence (TGA, ICB, VDA, VST)
but I was unable to do that. You can drop a jpg file in MEdia Encoder and it will convert just fine - but only the first frame. How to load the entire sequence ?

I'm trying to import. When you're working with 3d graphics and rendering - the common work-flow would be to render a series of frames, a sequence. Many people work like this also even with normal footage.
Or some programs expect also a sequence. For example the software Nuke (commonly used for compositing in films like Watchmen and Avatar).
And because I think Adobe Media Encoder is one of the fastest encoders around I would like to use it to convert a sequence of JPG in a WMV or H264.
Since it can export a sequence of TGA or BMP it's only normal to expect that it can read also a sequence. And more so the Help says it can :
    Supported still‑image formats :
JPEG and JPEG sequence (JPE, JPG, JFIF)
Targa and Targa sequence (TGA, ICB, VDA, VST)
But if I drag a JPEG file in the encoder - it reads only the first frame. Is there a special method to read the rest of the frames ? Maybe a script , or maybe I have to make a text file like a playlist ..or something.

  • Can't open or import project

I have a project that was working and I cannot open it now. I believe that it is related to dynamically linked objects since I accidentally imported the project into After Effects instead of just the piece I had wanted to import. I've gone through the forums and tried just about everything that was mentioned in other threads:
When I try to open the project, it gets about 95% of the way and then stops. I have let it sit at this stage for a full day. While it is at this stage, the CPU is not maxed out (it's barely in use), and memory usage is not increasing or maxed.
When I create a new project, and try to import sequences or the entire project from the original one, I get a Dynamic Link error occurred message.
I've opened the project using XMLWrench to validate it, and the xml is fine.
I've trying opening it and importing it after hiding my assets by renaming the directories. I've also tried with renaming preview directories, and so forth. While the bar shows loading at about 95%, it apparently doesn't get far enough to ask for the location of the missing assets.
I've created another copy of the project, and imported that into After Effects, and that worked fine. Unfortunately, trying to import that back into Premiere will just result in Compositions and I need my sequences and edits back.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere & After Effects as well.
Is there a way to enable logging during the load process so I can see where it's sticking? Or is there a way to remove or at least temporarily remove the dynamic linking in the project file (I'm assuming that's where the problem is since I got a Dynamic Linking error). Or is there some way to easily import select sequences from another project file without it going through the dynamic linking process before it displays the sequences?
I'm completely stuck. I was 99% done and ready to start exporting it to use in Encore. I just need to make a few small edits and changes. I don't want to have to start over.

It's a quad-core 2.6 ghz with 6 gig of RAM. The scratch disk has 400gig free and the drive with the footage has 200+ gig free. The system drive has 10gig free and the drive I use for a paging file has around 10 gig free.
Is there a reference somewhere that I'm missing that might help me remove the dynamic linking from the xml in the project file? Or is there some way to trigger logging during a project load so that I can at least see where it's hanging?

  • Can I replace the 20G drive in a 2070NR to have two 1T drives?

I have an Envy 17 (2070NR) and it has a 1T drive and a 20G drive.  Can I replace the 20G drive with another 1T drive?

The second, 20g drive is a flash module that is designed to speed up the system and hold important files so that the mechanical hard drive is not accessed as often, leading to better battery life, etc. blah blah. I am not sure the 20 gig drive is a standard SATA interface. You might want to look here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qOzkiY3MZ8
You will need the hard drive caddy for a second drive I believe.

  • Importing Image Sequences...

When I export a video clip into an image sequence and import those images back, they become 10 second long stills. How do you import them and automatically have their duration as only 1 frame?

  • Importing a sequence of photos

Hi, I am sure this is a newbie problem, but I am a newbie.
How can i import over 700 photos into the stage, automatically
creating a new frame for each photo so they play in sequence. I
need this for a stop frame animation project. I have done some
research and apparantly flash does this automatically if I open a
new doc, new keyframe, highlight it, file > import > import
to stage, then select my photo sequence, which is numbered 1 - 734.
It is then supposed to recognise the sequence and do it all for me.
Not only is it not doing this it is also resizing my photos.
    Help!!

If your sequence is properly numbered then when you import
    the first image
Flash will say something like ' sequence detected - should I
    import the
sequence or just this image?' If it's resizing anything on
    import then it's
probably because the images are not 72dpi.
