Can i replace  back of my ipad 3

Bascially i love my new ipad 3 and i treat it like i have my heart in my hand, and  there is a tiny iny scratch on the back silver thingyy , i would like to know if i can buy a replacement back.
i live in the uk, is there a way i can go to pc world or argos and ask them to replace the silver aluminum on the back is this possible, if so how much?

so please explain to me how theres a scratch on the front
You said there was a "tiny iny scratch on the back silver thingyy".  Front, back or both?
Either way, if it's working well, I would not have anyone take it apart, especially a 3rd party repair shop.  Not only is it risky, you will definitely void your 1 year Apple warranty.

  • How can I automacilley back up my iPad 2?

Is there an option that I can use to have my iPad 2 automiclley back up my iPad 2 everyday? I know you can do iCloud but doesn't that only backup your notes and stuff like that? I want my music, apps, and settings and just everything to backup.

As mentioned, the backup for iCloud contains the same information as backing up to your computer.  The difference is that backing up to iCloud can be done automatically without having to sync to your computer, but you have to be on external power, have the screen locked, and be connected to a viable wi-fi network.  You can also manually initiate an iCloud backup.
However, note that neither method backs up your music or apps.  Your iTunes purchases remain in the cloud for re-downloading, but any mp3's or CD rips you've added to your library are not backed up in iCloud (unless you sign up for iTunes Match).  If you want a backup of your files, you should have your own (local) backup routine for the best protection.

    Hello paulfromclarendon hills,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To backup your iPhone, you can either use iCloud on your iPhone, or use iTunes on your computer.  Take a look at the support article below to learn more about backing up your iOS device.

  • HT4060 how can i replace the battery on my ipad? it wont charge all the way

my ipad will only charge to 14% then goes down...how can i replace the battery?

    iPad Owners
Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your coverage to two years from the date of your iPad purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPad. During the plan’s coverage period, Apple will replace the battery if it drops below 50% of its original capacity. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery replacement for $99, plus $6.95 shipping, subject to local tax. Apple disposes of your battery in an environmentally friendly manner.

  • ITunes backing up my iPad.

My iTunes account was deleted so i can't back up my iPad to anything because other wise I have to reset it. I have a mac with iTunes so I how can I now back up my iPad without restoring it?

Those two articles that I linked to should help, the should let you sync to a new computer and copy your content from your iPad.
If you have photos on your iPad that were originally synced from a computer then you will need a third-party app on your iPadsuch as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.
To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard

  • HT4059 can I archive books on my iPad?

I love reading on my new iPad but with a growing number of books, I would like to be able to archive those I've read.  I could do this on my Nook & was surprised when I couldn't find a way on the iPad.....anyone know of a way?  Thanks...

You can delete them from your iPad via the Edit button at the top right of the bookshelf in the iBooks app, and as long as they remain in the store then you can re-download them via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app - but you may first want to copy them to the Books section of your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so that you have your own copy of them that you can then sync back to the iPad.

  • Where would I look on desk top computer for back ups from iPad that tech helped me back up to try to fix my iPad?  Apple replaced my iPad but I can't find any of my photos.  Tech told me they would be on my desk top. Can u help me? Thank, MEC

Where would I look to find my back ups from my iPad onto desk top computer?  The tech. Who helped me try to repair my iPad helped me back them off the iPad onto desk top. Apple had to send new replacement iPad.  Tech told me the back ups would be on my desk top but I can't find them.  I have lost all my photos.  Can anyone please tell me where to look?  Thanks, Marti48

I think that the tech probably meant that your photos would be in the backup. If he helped you backup your iPad on your computer, then you have to restore from the backup in order to recover your photos.
Did you bring your computer with you when you got this help from the tech backing up your iPad, or did he talk you through this over the phone?

  • How do I get game data back on the iPad after being sent a replacement?

I took my iPad into a shop for repair and they replaced it. Before I took it I backed it up to iTunes. When I got my replacement I synced my iPad with iTunes and got all my apps back. Only problem is I've lost all my game data. My achievements are on game centre. How do I get the game data back? Also I bought extra levels on a game and they have disappeared to? Can anyone help?

You should have restored from the backup before you synced the iPad. If iTunes created a new backup when you synced, the old backup may have been overwritten and the data may be gone.
Without connecting the iPad to your computer, launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. Do you see a backup in that window from the day that you backed up the iPad before you sent it out to be replaced? If you do have a backup from that days, you can try restoring from that backup. While you are still in that window, click on the box that says - prevent iPods, iPhones .... From syncing automatically. Click OK. Quit iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes, right click on the iPad under devices and select Restore From Backup. Select that backup from the window that pops up and restore from it. Then sync with iTunes.
You can turn Auto sync back on in the prefers when you are done.

  • Ipad mini with broken digitizer - can it be backed up if passcode cannot be entered?

    Hello,
I'm not sure if i entered the right category, I have searched around for questions similar to this but have not been able to find a thread that answers my question. My ipad mini is 1st generation, 4G compatible, 16gb. iOS 7 (as specific as i can get).
I dropped the iPad which shattered the digitizer which means I am unable to to type in the passcode in order to back it up on iTunes. The screen was left undamaged. I have a backup from a week or two before it was dropped but I want to be able to retrieve the photos and garageband files that were made past that point. I am wondering if there is any way of backing up the iPad without a passcode or somehow the passcode could be entered on my computer, ect.
I am planning on bringing the iPad to get the digitizer replaced, but to be on the safe side I would like to have a backup just in case a mistake is made during the repair or if a storage dump is unavoidable.
    Thank you

You could try attaching a bluetooth keyboard to your ipad and typing in the passcode.  This assume you have enabled bluetooth on the ipad before.

  • I recently got a new iPad from Apple, everything was stored to the cloud now I have set up new iPad i have nothing. Apps can b replaced pics cannot. Can anyone help me please?

I recently got a new iPad from Apple, everything was stored to the cloud now I have set up new iPad i have nothing. Apps can b replaced pics cannot. Can anyone help me please?

Sorry to read about this. A relative had a similar experience. Just a few things she was told to do. Hopefully one will get your content back. Make sure you are logged in to the same Apple Account the last iPad was. You should have a recent backup that can be downloaded to have your new iPad look like the one you replaced. When I changed from one iPad to another I used my last backup and all my apps and photos reloaded with no issues. This was done over wifi.
Another way is connecting your iPad to a computer that is logged into your iTunes account. It will show what backups you have available to download To your iPad. Again hopefully a recent backup was made of your iPad with all your most recent content.
In my cloud settings I made sure any photos I took were uploaded to the cloud to be downloaded automatically to my iPhone and visa versa.
If you had your photos setup to be uploaded to the cloud they should still be there. You just need to be logged into your Apple ID and your new iPad and I see no reason you cannot access them. Hopefully it is a simple fix.
    good luck.  Jeff
