Can I replace back of phone without voiding warranty

Thinking about replacing back with custom glass one on amazon. Will this void my warranty or AppleCare?

Yes.
It will void the warranty and Apple care

  • Replace of X230 screen without voiding warranty

    Hi,
My X230 suffers same issues here:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X220-IPS-display-problem-weird-bright-spot-on-...
Too bad that Lenovo refuses to replace my screen. I wonder if I can order the screen myself and get it replaced.
    - Is it damage the warranty of the remaining parts? If yes, then how can I do?
    Thanks.
    /Q

    Hi,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that you had display issues in your Lenovo ThinkPad X230 and the warranty didn’t cover the replacement of the screen.
Normally, replacing or upgrading customer replaceable parts like HDD or memory will not affect the system warranty.
Replacing parts like screen on your own may void the system warranty. I would recommend you to visit the nearest authorized Lenovo Service center to get the screen replaced so that your warranty remains intact.
    Best regards,
    Mithun.

Can I replace a shattered screen without having to replace the phone?

    Step 1 go to amazon.com
Step 2 type (" your idevice" screen & digitizer) make sure you get the tools and adhesive.
Step 3 buy and youtube instructions on how to do it
It will end up costing you around $40 plus about ten minutes of work.

  • How can i disable the internal speakers without voiding the warranty?

The students here annoy other students trying to study, I have made an extension for the headphone so that it is mounted under the monitor, facing the front and hot glued the headphone jack to the back, but the students ripped out the extension and threw it away so that they could play very awful music and annoy everyone.
How can I disable the internal speakers on our imacs without voiding warranty? There has to be a way!
    Thanks-

Have you considered corporal punishment? One instructor I had in high school, when he had detention duty, played classical music an operas all during detention. He was quite "evil". He would have some slow "sleepy" music going for a bit, then it would throw in something to wake every one up like the 1812 Overture or something, and repeat this a few times...and have the music loud enough to prevent talking. Many detention-ees thought that was "cruel and unusual punishment." (LOL)
But to your question. Since opening the case would normally void the warranty (unless you can find a empathetic Apple technician), what I would suggest is a "sleeve". Imagine some sheet metal and form it into a rectangular tube. The tube would closely follow the shape of the iMac covering all the cable ports. Then bolt the tube and iMac to the table. (Or at the very least, bolt the tube to the iMac.) Basically, make it so that there little room between the tube and iMac, that no one could access the ports without removing the tube. You'll also need to secure the cables to the tube so that no one can just pull out the cables, yet leave enough slack to allow for removal of the tube for maintenance. Even if the metal is not a full tube, but the Mac and metal is bolted to the table in such a way as to prevent access to the ports could be sufficient deterrent. If metal is not possible, then perhaps plastic or wood.
I realize that is requires some work, and there is a drawback as pranksters could start dropping stuff inside the tube. Perhaps just have a clear plastic "wall" preventing all physical access to the Mac. Only a USB extension cable for the keyboard/mouse. Use Remote Disk sharing to mount CDs, if necessary.
    Some thoughts, anyway. Good luck!

I'm assuming you can..now I don't know the prices for your area, you'll have to check around, I just did a quick web search and I'm pulling all sorts of prices up, I'd look into a repair facility near you and see what they can do for you :-) shouldn't be too expensive though! Good luck!

Ive purchased a black coloured iphone 5s but i dont like the colour, can apple replace my current phone with a white one?j

If you purchased your iPhone from Apple within the last 14 days then you can return it to switch it for another color if you wish.
If you purchased it through your carrier, then you will need to look at their returns policy, but I expect it would be similar.

What do you mean you have them in iCloud, do you mean you have an iCloud back up, or the contacts are still available at iCloud.com

  • Can I use an Android phone without a data plan?

Please read all of this before responding. You will not be helping when you show a clear misunderstanding of my question.
I do not need a data plan. Everywhere I go has Wi-Fi, and I am perfectly content to not have internet connectivity in the event that I don't have Wi-Fi. What I want to know is if I can buy a phone from a store (not from Verizon or a contract renewal) and replace my current phone with it without needing a data plan. There is NO software/hardware reason why I couldn't, and the only reason I would need to is as a Verizon requirement.
As an additional question, if Verizon doesn't allow it, is there any workaround?
I want an android phone not to have ubiquitous connection to social media. I want an android phone to have platform to run software on in addition to making/receiving calls and text messages. I would not utilize a data plan and it would be a waste of money.
    Additional info:
Can I use an Android phone that I buy from a retailer on my Verizon plan without adding data? There's no hardware or software reason why I need a data plan, and there IS a point to having a smart phone without a data plan: Wi-Fi. I don't need to have redundant internet access.  The only reason conceivable for why I'd need a data plan is because Verizon wants more money for no additional service (I wouldn't USE connectivity provided by a data plan). I don't want to have a mobile platform for running software and a phone filling my pockets, I'd like it to be in one. All the connectivity I need is for calls and text messaging.

    I stand corrected!
Here's an article on the subject with a good discussion and a somewhat dodgy suggestion for non-Verizon service: http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57555091-94/can-you-ditch-your-smartphone-data-plan-for-wi-fi/.
Here's a discussion on a T-Mobile forum laying out the options (as of last November): http://support.t-mobile.com/message/198200. It sounds like it would meet one of the OP's desires: "Can I use an Android phone that I buy from a retailer on my Verizon plan without adding data?" Not on Verizon, but probably on T-Mobile.

  • Can i replace  back of my ipad 3

Bascially i love my new ipad 3 and i treat it like i have my heart in my hand, and  there is a tiny iny scratch on the back silver thingyy , i would like to know if i can buy a replacement back.
i live in the uk, is there a way i can go to pc world or argos and ask them to replace the silver aluminum on the back is this possible, if so how much?

so please explain to me how theres a scratch on the front
You said there was a "tiny iny scratch on the back silver thingyy".  Front, back or both?
Either way, if it's working well, I would not have anyone take it apart, especially a 3rd party repair shop.  Not only is it risky, you will definitely void your 1 year Apple warranty.

  • Can i replace my iphone 4 without bill

im in chennai but i bought my phone in australia can i replace it here

No. iPhone warranty is NOT international, Except for EU countries, only valid in country of original purchase. In your case that would be Australia. You will have to physically return the phone to Australia for ALL warranty & service work. You cannot mail it back...Apple does not accept International shipments.

  • Can you replace a retina screen without replacing the entire computer?

    Hello,
I have the standard issue with a horrible LG screen causing image retention. I've had it for almost a year now and it hasn't bothered me too much but I have Apple Care and am within my rights to return it for a Samsung one.
I have a lot of things setup on my computer (it is for work) so it would be a big problem to have to replace the entire thing. Can you just replace the monitor whilst leaving the hard drive and everything else in tact?
Thank you kindly in advance for your responses
    David

Judging from other responses, it appears Apple would be willing to just replace the screen. But except for your original choice of drive size, CPU speed and RAM, everything set up on your computer is what's on your HD (actually SSD). You've already been advised to make a backup, but if the backup you make is a clone and bootable, it can be written back to the internal drive and you'd be back in operation in a short time.
That would be just as true if you swapped if tor the 2013 rMBP, assuming that was offered with the screen you want instead.

  • After opening Firefox & getting my info, I go into another application but am unable to open Firefox without Quitting it first. I have the latest update of Firefox. How can I get back into firefox without quitting Firefox?

After opening Firefox, I was always able to in & out of it till I shut down my computer. Now, after opening Firefox, I go to another application then back to Firefox, I have to "Quit" Firefox and reopen. How can eliminate the back & forth of starting & quitting Firefox before I shutdown my computer?

uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. I use firefox for so many, many years thta I deserve this kind of support .. thnx Robert

  • Remove STOCKS without voiding warranty!

How can I safely remove STOCKS from my iPhone? I will never use this, nor will I ever wish to use this. A search for "remove stocks iphone" on google represents 588,00+ results of distressed people. Many people suggest I crack my iPhone. This worries me.
I have already moved it to a secondary page, I just want to REMOVE it without voiding my warranty. If there is NO way to remove it at this time, when will apple have a solution, or when do they plan on having a solution. If more than 1 out of every 6,000 americans (500,000 results) desires to remove stocks from the iphone, Is this not something which should be undertaken and Post-Haste?

Excellent suggestion to give apple feedback on how users feed about this issue. I would anybody who feels aggrieved or annoyance to send in their feedback. The more people who send in the same message, the more likely Apple with hear it, lest they become irrelevant (or at least continue to have reluctant and not fully satisfied customers).
To this end, I have cut and pasted (another capability that that the iPhone ought to have) my feedback to so that you may copy and amend in their feedback to Apple (as they see fit).
"Just wondering where the instructions are for removing preinstalled programs/applications on the iPhone 3G such as "Stocks".
Many years ago, Microsoft encountered major legal strife with the Department of Justice for not allowing users to uninstall Internet Explorer on its Operating System on the antitrust (uncompetitive) grounds, and I see striking parallels with the current difficulties that iPhone 3G users are facing with the iPhone 2.2 software."
As a footnote: that application is on page 6//6 of my iPhone.
