Can I replace the HDD in my Satellite C70D-B -00P model with an SSD?

Hi
My question is in the subject line. If anyone has done this I would appreciate some tips.
regards Stuart

Generally speaking yes, you can do this but problem is that your notebook model doesn't have HDD cover at the bottom side.
To have full access to the HDD the bottom cover must be removed completely but it should be done by authorized service only.
Of course you can try to do it alone but Im afraid you may lose the warranty.
If possible contact nearest Toshiba service provider in your country, explain the situation and ask for help.

  • Replacing the HDD on a Satellite M50-A-110

    Hi,
I just bought a new Satellite M50-A-110 and I wanted to replace the HDD that came with the laptop with my existing SSD.
Unfortunately, there is no way (that I could find) to reach the HDD bay.
In the previous versions I could replace it with no hassle at all, but here the whole bottom panel is made out of a single piece of plastic that I couldn't remove.
Can somebody please help me out?
Is there a trick in removing the bottom panel that I'm not aware of?
Thank you for your assistance in advance and all the best,

    Hi
Well, the HDD as well as the memory modules or battery are placed under the plastic cover at the bottom of the unit.
You will have to remove the whole plastic cover to get access to such parts.
From my knowledge there are 12 screws securing the bottom cover.
Then you could gently remove the logic lower from the upper by prying the edge of the lower from the right corner.

  • Qosmio X500-10W - Can I replace the HDD with another one?

    Hello
I have a Qosmio X500-10W with two HDD Toshiba MK5055GSX 500GB 5400RPM 8MB ??SATA II but is one of hs so I wonder if I can be replaced by a more powerful style HDD 750GB 7200tr / min 16MB Toshiba course?
    merci

    Hey,
Your question is a little bit hard to understand but I think you want to replace the HDD with another (faster) model, right?
Well, thats no problem. HDDs with 7200rpm will work, they are a little bit louder but they are faster so if you need more performance no problem.
Also 750GB or more is no problem because SATA interface is not capacity limited. Theoretically 1TB or more should also work.
Anyway, you can buy the 750GB you mentioned it will work. :)

  • Can I replace the HDD in my Pavilion Dv7t-2000?

Ok so I bought my laptop a little over a year ago with a 320gb HDD. Now I know that's a good bit of space but I've nearly maxed it out a few time so I want to upgrade it.  I already have the new hard drive, 750gb and have it set up but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the old hard drive out.  I easily found where it is but I can't figure out how to lift it out.  Can I just push the data cable off and then it can rotate up?  If asked I can post a picture of it but for now I just want to know if any one has any guesses.

This is the official HP Services Media Library for your dv7-2000 Intel system.
Select the "Primary hard disk drive ( CSR) " at the left-handed side menu, it should pop up both video and text to guide you to remove the hard drive.
However, I am not sure the Operating System can support the hard drive size upto 750GB or not.
    Anyway, good luck.

  • Can I replace the hard drive in my HP HDX16-1140US with this hybrid hard drive?

Hi. I ran the SMART test on my hard drive (500 GB) and it said that it was about to fail soon. I would like to replace my hard drive with this one:
    http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Momentus-Solid-Hybrid-ST95005620AS/dp/B003NSBF32
Is this possible? What are some other hard drives to consider?
    This question was solved.

Alright, here's what I've decided to do. I'll buy the Western Digital Scorpio Black but get the 500 GB version. Then, I'll buy an external hard drive because I know that the HDX16 in general can support two drives but I don't think my particular model has the second drive bay. Also, I think it would be cheaper too and that way I don't have to buy another drive that is the same size as my primary drive. How does that sound?

  • Can I replace a failed hard drive on mid 2009 MacBook Pro with 1tb ssd +hdd?

    Any help?

    You might be able to.
Check either Macsales.com or iFixit.com for guides of how to add a second drive to your 2009 MBP.
I know that the SSD needs to be placed in current HDD bay and the HDD needs to be placed in the optical drive bay. So you would need a dual drive kit from either of the places mentioned above.

  • Can I replace the HDD in my early 2011 MB-Pro with SSD?

Hoping to improve performance speed by moving to SSD. Can I do this, and how do I do it. Will time Machine restore to a newly installed SSD?

    So like leroydouglas references.
Makes a world of difference. I've done it to 5 machines so far. Earliest so far 2009 MacBook Unibody.
Started w/ this early 2011 MBP 13" 120 GB SSD and bumped the RAM to 8 GB.
Last week I was working on a client's computer and saw the spinning beach ball. I realized I hadn't seen it in the 6 months since I put in the SSD:
I only use parts from OWC:

  • I want to replace the hard drive on my 15inch mid2012 macbook pro with a SSD but I just cannot clone the HD or reimage the SSD and I've tried everything. Please help...

What can i do to format, image and use the SSD as the primary drive on my macbook pro?

Install the SSD in an enclosure and connect it to the MBP via USB.
Open Disk Utility>Erase and format the drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
    Then select Disk Utility>Restore.
Drag the internal HDD to the Source field.  Drag the SSD to the Destination field.  Click on the Restore button.
This may take a few hours depending upon how much data has to be transferred.
When complete, Boot the MBP with the OPTION key.
Select the SSD and if it boots the MBP, swap the two drives.
    Ciao.

can I replace my HDD in my late 2009 iMac myself? The current drive is toast and I've heard that late 2009 Apple started using HDDs with thermal sensors.

The short answer is maybe. How tech savvy are you? It would require disassembling the iMac, removing the LCD panel and installing your replacement components. The job is primarily complicated by the wiring being very short and needing at least 4 hands to get things neatly unplugged and replugged. There are lots of YouTube vids of these teardowns, it is doable because people do it, the question remains can you?

  • Replacing the hdd to a ssd.

I would like to know if the action of replacing the hdd will void the warranty, and also which is the size of the hdd?

    Hi:
There should be no problem with the warranty as long as you don't break something trying to install the HDD.
HP will not support the SSD however and your recovery disks won't work because the new drive will need to be the same size as the 500 GB HDD you removed.
I have a workaround for the recovery disk issue...
According to your PC's system specs it came with W7 Home Premium 64 bit.
It has to be the English, French or Spanish version too.
If so, download the W7 Home Premium 64 bit ISO file at the link below.
Burn the file to a disk using a DVD burning program that can burn ISO files so the DVD is bootable.
Burn at the slowest speed you can.
Then use the 25 character product key on the bottom of your notebook to activate the installation.
Visit your notebook's support and driver page to install any drivers you need.

Just how do you do an internet recovery on a system that has a blank HDD with no operating system that the unit cannot boot from????
If your Mac came preinstalled with Lion or Mountain Lion after you install your new blank HDD, restart the Mac while pressing/holding the COMMAND+OPTION+R keys until you see a spinning globe. Make sure you have an Internet connection (WiFi or Ethernet). This will boot into Apple's Recovery HD servers and present you with the OS X Utilities Menu. From there you can select Disk Utility to format your new HDD and then reinstall Mac OS X for the OS that was preinstalled.
Internet Recovery doesn't care if you have an unformated HDD because it boots over the Internet to Apple's servers, not your HDD.

You've been down this path before  - and the response is exactly the same.
    how to replace cursor logic
And I'll suggest that you post the entire code - since you repeatedly delete 2 table variables but only populate one. The setting of @maxID also seems to have no purpose. And perhaps the issue here isn't the cursor but the general approach.  Who knows
    - but it appears you may have prematurely assumed that the cursor is the problem.
