Can I reset iTunes app sync to copy phone apps to computer not viceversa

Hi,
I haven't been syncing apps since christmas (can't remember why i stopped...), but now I want to back up the apps and of course iTunes will only sync one way, overwrite phone with apps on computer
Is there any way to reverse the sync so that the apps on the phone overwrite those stored on computer?
thanks,
Scott

Is there any way to reverse the sync so that the apps on the phone overwrite those stored on computer?
No. The iTunes content sync is one way: Computer to Phone. For purchased content on your phone, not in your iTunes library: iTunes running, phone connected, File>Transfer Purchases. From there, select what content you want on your phone & sync.

  • HT4759 Today I purchased an iPhone 5c and tried to go to itunes to sync my old phone with my computer gave me an error message R6034,saying itunes had to be reinstalled.  How do I do that?

Today I purchased an iPhone 5c.  In trying to sync my 4s to my itunes and save my photos, videos, and music to the cloud, I received an error message on my computer (R6034) saying reinstall itunes.  How do I do this without losing everything?  There was also a Windows error 1114 that kept coming up.

Back your library up, uninstall iTunes and all related components, and then reinstall them; this process may need to be done multiple times, but only one backup is needed.

  • HT204406 How can I reset iTunes Match to my original version, before it was corrupted by iMatch?

How can I reset iTunes Match to my original version, before it was corrupted by iTunes Match? I have a extensive library I developed over years and it has been totally destroyed by iTunes Match and I have not been able to rectify it, no matter what.

Hallo Jim, thanks for the response.
I have a library of around 9000 songs, about 40 playlists and all albums sorted etc. It was originally kept on a Windows 7 based system. After linking the entire library on iTunes Matc (which took forever), all was fine for a while, then suddenly double playlists start apearing, songs disapeard form playlists and I started to loose all my settings!
In a last attempt to solve my problems, I purchased a Mac to use at home with all the other Apple devices. (Appletv, iPads etc) Unfortunatelly despite numerous attempts I have not been able to copy the library over to the MAC, as I keep on loosing half of the data. I tried iTunes Match, but this made things even worse.
Reading several forums and tutorials and trying everything, simply helped me to recover an older version of the Library by copieng a pervious version and replacing the current .itl file. (on the Windows based system)
So, I now have a fairly updated and complete iTunes Library on my Windows based computer at work, but all my other devices and MAC at home have skeleton versions of the original Library.
I have disabled iTune Match on all sytems as well as Genius , as this seams to be escalating the problems by creating multiple versions of my existing playlists, but none that are complete.
If you have advice for me, or can refer me to a detailed and accurate tutorial, I will be very grateful.
    Thank you,
    Hennie

  • How can I force iTunes to sync with an specific folder?

I have all my music in an external drive, but anytime I start iTunes, it go to the folder created in the HDD. How can I make iTunes to sync with the folder in the external hard drive?

You cannot sync the two devices over WiFi at all. You can turn on automatic downloads on both devices in Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Automatic Downloads>Apps>On, whatever you download on one device will download to other device as well.

  • How can i reset my app store setting? i have signed in and out with my own apple id but i used a different one at first and that one is not going away

How can i reset my app store setting?
I have signed in and out with my own apple id but i used a different one at first a few years ago and that one is not going away how do i change it to my own apple id?

    Content and Apple IDs -
Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID. Your only option is to delete the content and buy it again with the new Apple ID.

  • Can't get iTunes to sync and update with iPhone 5. Help!

I can't get itunes to sync some metadata over to my iphone 5. For example, for all of my metadata for Orianthi is correct, but When I choose her on my iphone, it shows thw songs all broken up followed by artwork from AC/DC! So I opened itunes, made sure all metadata was correct and then connected my phone to sync. Nothing. It doesnt change my music on the iphone to match itunes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ok, ran updates, found 3 new updates and after this was done all was well again. Still not sure why it only affected the touch and iphone, but guess i don't need to LOL.

I messed my color sync profile up. How can I reset my color sync profile to factory settings?
Core 2 Duo, OS Lion (not mountain)

Hi, yes, I messed it up by trying to edit it.
I just clicked configure and changed the options. Is there a factory setting I can reset it to?
The problem when I try to get it back to normal is that it never looks just like it did. It looks mainly fine, but things like light blues look wrong.

  • I recently purchased new Mac Mini with Lion installed. Now I can't get iTunes to sync iCal from my iPod Touch (3rd gen) to my Mini.

I recently purchased a new Mac Mini with Lion installed. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes. Now I can't get iTunes to sync iCal from my iPod Touch (3rd gen) to my Mini. Everything else syncs great, and iCal syncs from my Mini to my Touch. My Touch has the latest iOS installed. I have tried rebooting my Touch, removing the sync calendars option from iTunes>Info and checking it again after applying and closing iTunes, and restarting my Mini. Any help will be appreciated!

  • Can I force iTunes to sync a video even if it says it's not compatible?

I have a video podcast where iTunes refuses to sync some of the videos even though I know they are compatible. When I stream them on my iPod touch from the iTunes store, they play. When I download them directly to my iPod, they play. When I sync my iPod, the videos are removed and iTunes says they aren't compatible with this iPod. Can I force iTunes to sync the videos? Are there other ways to fix this?

Yes, but the issue is the IP address. If you have a static IP from your ISP it is easy.. Or if you use another router with dyndns it is easy.. but Apple make it exclusive to their network so you can have loads of issues without a computer to function as a client for dns.
Look up remote Time Capsule access .. there is plenty of info out there.

  • My computer crashed.  is there a way that i can put my itunes account and library on my husband's computer even though he has an itunes account?

My computer crashed and instead of buying a new computer, is there a way i can put my itunes account and library on my husband's computer.  He also has an itunes account and library.

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your ipod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your iPod for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the ipod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

I went I to my phone and I tried to unlock my passcode but it did not let me in, how can I reset my lock passcode without plugging it onto the computer on iTunes, or restoring it or deleting any data ?

You don't. The only way to remove the passcode if forgotten is to restore the device. If you have a backup, you can restore to that last backup, but anything done since that last backup would be lost.Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support

If it's in recovery mode, the data is already gone. Why did you never back up your important data?
