Can I reset my lost iPod from iTunes?

My iPod touch 4th generation was recently lost/stolen. I didn't have a passcode on it. I was wondering if it was possible to reset it from iTunes if the iPod connects to wifi.

Go to icloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID and go Find My iPhone > All devices > Your iPod > Erase iPod. It will only work if it's connected to WiFi.

Can't drag movies into iPod from iTunes

Hi,
I had a problem a while back importing movies that I had compressed (using Handbrake) into iTunes. Once I updated/reinstalled the iPod software it was fine.
Last night I did the same with a couple of episodes of 24- both imported and will play in iTunes but only one can be transferred to my iPod. It says that "This movie cannot be played on an iPod" but the formats of the 2 shows were identical.
This is obviously for my own use so I'm hoping I'm doing nothing illegal.
Any ideas?

Ah. Just updated iPod again and movie dragged in fine.
Odd how it should work for one and not the other.
I guess that could a "bug fix" that the update referred to?

Can't get Pacman into Ipod from iTunes

I have just updated to 7.0 itunes and found that I can now buy Games, so I got Pacman, now I cannot get it into the iPod. I have tried to drag and drop in like I do with Videos and music but it wont go in, through itunes, anyone know what to do? many thanks.

I struggled with a similar issue. I had the Apple tech support people on the phone for close to an hour, and they were flummoxed as to why iTunes was recognizing my newly-purchased game but iPod wasn't. Turns out the iPod has the "Games" choice hidden under Extras. Go there, and you'll likely find what you're looking for. It worked for me. I came to this realization after doing a full restore on my iPod. Hope this helps....

I have an iPod Nano 5th gen (click wheel) - 16gb. Apparently, there is no way to view what is/is not on the iPod from iTunes. When I click on music, I can see what playlists/artists/songs are checked for syncing - but not what is currently on the device. So to check, I have to eject, look, then re-connect. Overall, i'm really happy with the iPod compared to my previous zune. But the the zune did display complete device contents, artists, songs, etc from the zune program. Seems like a no-brainer. Overall, I have to say the iPod is way better from the device standpoint - but I'm a bit disappointed with iTunes compared the the Zune program in terms of usability.

If you click the small black arrow next to your iPod's *Device Name* in the left hand pane of iTunes it should open up a submenu underneath. Go ahead and click on Music to see what songs are currently stored on your iPod.

Try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. I can't anymore access my files on my ipod from itunes. I can see what is there, but it won't allow me to delete any files on my ipod.
At start up, it does the syncronicing, finish in itunes but the display on my ipod never go beyond "do not disconnect". It won't allow me to close/remove the ipod from itunes - error message - some files are in use, can't close down ipod.

if you sync iPod, you can NOT delete music, podcasts, TV shows or videos in the iPod itself. if you want to delete it from the iPod, either delete it from iTunes and at the next syncing, the file will disappear.
Sometimes you also simply have to click a second time on the "eject" button after getting the warning that "some files in use".

Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

NO. You have to set a pass code.
