Can I restore an accidentally deleted account?

I think I accidentally deleted my wife's Firefox Sync account when we were swapping computers. How can I check this? If so, can I restore the account?

Hi,
Depending on exactly how the account was deleted, you may well not be able to recover it.
Try running Windows System Restore.  If you have Norton Internet Security installed, you will need to disable Nortons Tamper Protection as shown in Step 2, on the link below.
http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20091112171719EN&ln=en_US
Once you've done this, shut down the PC.  Windows System Restore is usaully best run in Safe Mode.  Tap away at f8 as you start the PC to enter Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit enter.  When this has loaded, from the Start Menu, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and launch System Restore.  Pick a restore point before the account was deleted and then proceed with the restore process.  When complete, Windows will reboot as normal.

I successfully installed my iPhoto but I can't see I accidentally deleted my "Photo Booth", Can you please help me to install it?

    Hi BDAqua,
I tried to install Pacifist, THEN the Choices are:
    -Open Package
    -Open URL
    -Open Apple Install Discs
    -Search Receipts
so i choose " OPEN APPLE INSTALL DISC"
THEN I inserted one of the DVD, the "APPLICATION INSTALL DVD"
THEN this what came up in the
    Package Contents
    > Contents of Install Bundled Software
    > Contents of InstallBundledSoftware.mpkg
    > Contents of CPUHelpFiles.mpkg
    > Contents of iWeb.pkg
    > Contents of GarageBand.mpkg
    > Contents of iDVD.mpkg
    > Contents of iPhoto.mpkg
    > Contents of iMovie.pkg
    > Contents of AppleIntermediateCodec.pkg
    > Contents of iLifeCookie.pkg
    > Contents of iLifeSoundEffects_Loops.pkg
I open everything just to see the one you send me but I can not find it,
Do I have to insert Mac OS X Install DVD too?
The Application Install DVD was installed twice already,
Does that affect the memory of my Macbook?
    Thanks again,

  • Is there a way to restore an accidentally deleted activity log?

I am soooo embarrassed.  I accidentally deleted the activity log of a phone number I wish to keep.  Is there anyway that I can have that activity restored or is it gone forever??

Backing up the device AFTER the calls have been deleted will not backup something that has been previously deleted.
Weekly backups, or more often, are very worth doing.

  • How to recover mail history of an accidentally deleted account

    Hi
I accidentally deleted a mail account and all its history.  the history is not available from the mail account server.  I don't seem to be able to recover it using Time machine recovery.  I think the only way is to try and recover the deleted mail history file but have no idea how to do this.  Is it possible for me to do this or do I need to take my imac to a specialist third party?
    Thanks

It all depends on the type of account and how it was configured. For IMAP-type accounts, mail is stored on the server, and setting up the account again is all that’s needed to regain access to your mail.
If you deleted a POP account, however, then all your mail stored locally in that account’s mailboxes has certainly been wiped out, not just moved somewhere, and you were warned that this would happen by the following alert:
    Remove Account
Are you sure you want to remove the <AccountType> account "<AccountName>"?
This will permanently delete the account setup information, mailboxes, and messages from your computer. Messages stored on the mail server will not be affected.
If the POP account was configured to leave mail on the server for some time instead of removing it right away when downloaded, incoming mail that’s still on the server can be re-downloaded by setting up the account again, just like for IMAP accounts, but keep in mind that this would only work for received (i.e. not sent) mail that has not yet been removed from the server.
If the messages are not on the server, and you don’t have a backup, your only option in the case of Mail 2.x is to try to salvage as many deleted *.emlx files as possible with a data recovery tool such as Data Rescue II, TechTool Pro, or FileSalvage (the files to be recovered would be different in the case of Mail 1.x). Of these, the only one I know for sure that can recover deleted *.emlx files is FileSalvage. Stop using your computer right now if you want to try that, as anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted files to be overwritten.

  • Help, how to restore an accidentally deleted Wiki

    Hi All,
I have been running the wiki on my OS X server for some time now.  Currently using Mavericks 10.9.1 and I went to delete a page from one of the wiki's and when prompted I didn't read the dialog box and clicked om "permenantly delete" and my whole wiki disappeared.  I have two others on different topics that still appear and operate just fine but the other wiki is now nowhere to be found.  I've found old posts when the wiki was stored in /Library/Collaboration/.... but nothing on the "latest" wiki locations.  Can someone point me at a method to restore (from time machine) my wiki.  I have not make any changes to any of the wiki's since I accidentally deleted this wiki, I'm hoping it is as simple a restoring a file or files from time machine.
    TIA
    ron

Well I have resolved the issue and thought I would post here to let anyone else know how it was done.
First using the original input from Linc Davis that I should restore /Library/Server/Wiki I gave that a shot, however the restore aborted after a couple seconds with the error the PostgreSocket was in use.  This caused some problems since some of the other files in the directory were deleted or something during this activity.  Now I had no wiki's and any attempt to access the wiki resulted in a crash of the wiki. (Remember I had 3 wiki's and accidentially deleted one).  So some head scratching ensued, I absolutely did not want to even consider restoring OS X in its entirety from a backup, this was just a non-starter for me.
So back into time machine and this time I restored the /Library/Server/Wiki directory from time machine and by right clicking (or CTRL + click) in the Wiki entry in time machine it prompts for an alternate location to restore to, I had it restore the Wiki directory into /Library/Server/Wiki so now my old Wiki was in /Library/Server/Wiki/Wiki.  From here I booted into the Mavericks recovery partition (hold the Option key when starting the machine), then began a terminal session and renamed /Library/Server/Wiki to "xyzzy" and then within /Library/Server/xyzzy entered mv Wiki .. which moved the restored wiki data back to /Library/Server and then I removed rm -rf /Library/Server/xyzzy to get rid of the corrupted Wiki.  Started up the Wiki within the server again and I was back in business.
I don't know that this is an officially sanctioned approach but it worked just dandy for me.

  • How do you restore an accidentally deleted thread in iMessage

My wife accidentally deleted a thread on her 5C in iMessage.  Is there anyway to undelete the thread.  I wish Apple would change that thread delete so that it is no so easy to accidentally do it.
    Thanks in advance.
And yes i have looked but can't find a way to recover an entire thread.

You'd have to restore the phone from a backup made when the thread was still there.
I wish Apple would change that thread delete so that it is no so easy to accidentally do it.

  • Can I retreive an accidentally deleted note form Ipad?

I accidentally deleted a very important note from my Ipad.   Help, is there any way to get it back??

If youare backing up the iPad using icloud or itunes, and you made a backup after the note was created (but prior to deleing it), you can restore from the backup. you will, however, lose data created after that back up was made.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859
If not back ups exist, then no. there is no way to retrieve it once it is deleted.

How can I recover a note that I accidentally deleted from my iPhone 4?

I'm not a Mac user, but google showed this: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3824044?start=0&tstart=0.  If that doesn't help, you should google "sync notes to macbook" and see if you find something that does.

  • How can i restore erased (by mistake) account?

I tried to erase my main account, due to some problem with Java that even Apple suport could not solve, but by mistake i pressed "erased immediately" instead of saving the user folder first....

i think you can try only with a data rescue program.

  • Can you recover mail from deleted account?

Using Mail 2.0.5, I kept getting a message that port 25 was blocked, and couldn't receive mail from that account. I didn't think to check .mac for solution, but created a new mail account under a different name, with the same settings. When it worked, I deleted the original account...but didn't realize I'd lose all the mail associated with it in my mail program. Thought it would be stored someplace, but I can't find it anywhere. Is there any way to recover mail from a deleted Mail account?

Never did find a solution to this. However because we are using IMAP accounts most of the mail was cached on the client Macs. So I offlined them, loaded Mail, copied all the mail into local mailboxes, recreated the users, went online and copied the mail back into the new hierarchy.
Still can't believe I did such a daft thing!

  • Restore Mail after deleting account

I deleted an inactive account in Mail after setting up a new internet account and name, but did not realize that all of the e-mails would be deleted; thought I was just turning off future downloads at the inactive address. It was two years of e-mails. Is there any way to restore those e-mails?
    Help please!

You need to look up the definition of a computer bug since this is not a bug but part of the account and mailbox filing structure by design.
I agree when deleting an account, the Mail.app should include either an automatic transfer of the account's mailboxes to the Mailboxes folder within the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail or placed in the Trash first which requires an additional step before the account's mailboxes are deleted but a warning message is provided.
If you don't pay close attention to a warning message provided by any application, etc. during use or you are not sure what will occur when selecting OK when a warning message is provided, you better maintain a regular if not daily backup of all data.
    This is not a bug.

  • How can i restore memory after deleting all photos on my iPad 8.1.2

    iPad 4
    8.1.2
    Photos; not iPhoto app
Under GENERAL I cannot restore my capacity memory after deleting all my photos from the iPad.
I do not store photos in the Cloud. I do not use Photo Stream
I have reset my iPad as well as checked in Image Capture for possible photos still there.
I have also deleted last 30 days of photos.

In iOS 8.1.2 photos that are deleted from the Camera Roll are moved to the Recently Deleted album. They remain there for 30 days unless you delete them again from that album. The Recently Deleted album was created because so many people complained that they deleted photos and wanted them back. The Recently Deleted album gives people 30 days to change their mind about deleting photos. For the rest of us, it's kind of a pan to have to delete the photos twice to free up the storage space.
Oh, and there is no longer an iPhoto that works on iOS devices running iOS 8.1.2.

  • Can I restore my accidentally erased music library from iTunes match?

I was making room on my external drive for my back up, when I erased the Time Machine back ups as well as my iTunes library. Is there a way of bringing my library back from iTunes Match?

    Hi,
I presume that you did not not delete your iTunes library from within iTunes. Can you recover from trash? Also why did you manually delete your time machine backup? Time machine manages your hard drive space and removes older backups when more space is required.
If you have iTunes Match, open iTunes and turn on match.
If you see the tracks listed and you see the " ! ", delete all tracks but don't delete from cloud. Highlight tracks and download. If you see the tracks with download icon, highlight tracks and download.
