Can I restore cache files to full res?

I somehow deleted a folder from my system months ago that I now need. I can't find the folder anywhere in my hard drive or backup, but I can find the cache files. Is there anything I can do with those?

If I understand it correctly, if you have Bridge set to store full sized previews in cache, then it stores a JPG the full size of the image. If you zoom in to '100%/actual pixel size' with the Bridge viewer, then you do indeed see a representation of a full res of any particular image. But AFAIK you can only access the cache via Bridge. You can't go in with My Documents, and pull out a single JPG.
This also presupposes that the Bridge cache keeps a copy of deleted documents. I can just imagine the outcry on sites like this, if it was discovered that Bridge was that sloppy with cache file managment! So I suspect that you are out of luck, in that respect at least.
But you mention a back up, so the files were stored in two locations prior to being deleted? That doubles the chance of a file recovery program finding them. I'm guessing that you have tried the Recycle Bin, or whatever Mac systems use?

I installed 2 node cluster of SOA 11.1.1.5 on linux and during domain configuration I got errors i.e.

Installation was done and all the servers start/stop fine am able to deploy the processes, am able to access all the urls fine everything coming up fine BAM, SOA, OSB etc . Just wondering if the error above have any effect on the installation or any piece that might not work. As I have already did the installation and ignored those errors above so just wanted to see if anything I need to look for.

It's a cluster install and took sometime to do the full install so it will be a pain to re-install everything over. Currently have tested the processes and seems to be working fine.
Also I don't find
/var/tmp/wlstTemp
I do see wlstTemp appended with linux users who did Oracle SOA install.
Also in-future when creating a new environment besides the above chmod 777 on /var/tmp/wlstTemp is there any parameter we can supply when running config.sh. I read some where that in-order to get by these errors at the time of domain creation we can also pass some parameter.

When I click on Time Machine I see all the dated pages (without an external storage drive connected), go back to a date where all my photo files are there, click "restore", and I get the message: "The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in file cant be read or written (error code - 36)"

Are you using Photostream? If yes, then you will be able to see your 1000 most recent photos on your Mac in iPhoto.
All your contacts, calendar events, emails, etc. will still be on your Mac as part of iCloud.
If you didn't import your videos from your iPhone to your Mac, then you've lost them unless you can restore your cloud backup to another iOS device.

Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications. I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone. I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups. HELP! How can i restore/recover files from Bootcamp with Boot Failure - Missing operating system error?

I am having a few problems with bootcamp on my imac. When i tried to move the bootcamp partition on windows 7 into free space, it crashed and turned off. Ever since i have had the error 'Missing operating system' and it fails to boot. I have some very important files on the bootcamp partition. Is it possible to recover these files or even to restore the bootcamp partition to it's original state? I do not have a backup of my bootcamp partition. Another problem i have is that ever since i tried to expand my macintosh HD partition into free space, when i hold alt while booting up (to choose which partition to boot like i normally do), the bootcamp partition has stopped appearing. This means that i cannot even boot the windows 7 bootcamp partition anymore!
So basically here are my 2 questions:
How can i restore/recover files from Bootcamp with Boot Failure - Missing operating system error?
How can i make the Bootcamp partition appear in Startup Disk and when i hold the option key while starting up my computer to allow me to boot windows 7?

I know that bootcamp (disk0s4) hasn't been fully deleted since it appears in disk utility (i cant do anything to it though)

WinClone 3 is OS X and saves Windows image it makes for restore - that should work but you will have to try and you would need to make a new image unless it also works with a native Windows system restore image. It is now supported and has come a long way.

Paragon Clone OS works and does disk-to-disk clone just like CCC you end up with two bootable drives. But does not work with your setup. It would let you clone and move your Windows install to an SSD or another disk drive though and be bootable.
During its clone process it checks for errors which is very helpful and lets you know - something CCC and others should adopt more of.

Installing SOA 11.1.1.5 on HP-UX and during domain creation/configuration I am getting the below errors

and have lots of cache file errors for different packages
Any idea what might be wrong and whats the cause of these errors and is it safe to ignore these errors if not what is the work arround. As I already looked at the below post but I don't find */var/tmp/wlstTemp* on my machine as suggested in the post below.

JRE7 throws exception Can't create cache file but work fine with JRE6

I am using J-free chart for rendering charts. My application is work fine with JRE6 but while using JRE7 i am getting following exception

Can not restore data files from backup set

I am trying to restore Server A's backup data to Server B (they are all oracle11g) using rman. The restore commands is below:
rman target /;
shutdown immediate;
startup nomount;
restore controlfile from '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100418/ctl_xxx'
alter database mount;
catalog start with '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100418/';
restore database;
recover database;
alter database open resetlogs;
For the first time, it works. But when i tried to restore another backup data by the same way:
rman target /;

The second time, i found that rman restore the old backup data, which means that it restore the data file under '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100418/' instead of '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100425/'.
So I run 'list backup of database summary' to see the backup set lists in control file.

Can all QuickTime cache files be safely deleted?

I'm getting really short of hard disk space on my 12-inch Power Book G4, and I noticed that nearly 4 GB of space is occupied by QuickTime download cache files in my user library. I don't know of any Application that I can use to identify all these files individually. As I understand how cache files work, they simply speed up the launching or opening of the source files; and the only consequence of deleting them is a longer wait the next time I launch any of those files. I'm also speculating that 75 percent of these cache files pertain to QT downloads that I have long ago archived or trashed. But the other 25 percent are linked to some very important videos. Is there a way to identify what's what? Or is it simply safe enough to trash them all, without losing those important original videos?

You could move files from the PBook to another Mac to save space also, if your Macs are networked is one way or Firewire Target Disk Mode another. I have the 60GB PBookG4 and I do that all the time to save space on that drive.

Check the Windows recycle bin, you may be able to recover the files from there. Right-click on the recycle bin icon on the desktop and select Open. This will open Explorer, if the files are listed there, right-click on them and choose Restore.
If the files are not in the recycle bin, you can try a file recovery utility such as recuva - http://www.piriform.com/recuva

And in light of Klaus1's and CT's advice there are data recovery services and programs that MAY and I repeat MAY be able to recover this file.
A lot depends on the exact way you overwrote it and how much free space is on your disk. One program Disk Drill (also in the App Store I beleive) has been helpful in the past. There is a free version that you might find useful to dowload and run to see if there is any possiblity for recovering the file.
But as its been said its a long shot.

Can't restore SPECIFIC files

Here's my issue: I cannot use Time Machine to restore specific Pages documents that are backed up to an external drive.
The current versions aren't corrupted and open just find. But I need the old versions.
Each time I attempt a restore I get "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access “DOCNAME”. Then a "copy" of the document in question appears where it's supposed to. But this file is devoid of data and will not open in Pages. This happens no matter how far back in Time Machine I go.
Similar Pages documents can be restored, even ones from the same folder. It seems the files that can't be restored are the ones I edited last night.
Please help. I'm losing sleep over this.

these are wrong. you should not have such permissions on anything in your home directory even if you are an admin user. your default group is staff and that's what be listed there. did you change permissions on that folder yourself?
make a new Pages file. what are the permissions on that?

I'll admit I tried the drag & drop before posting this thread. I receive the same error message. The files can be quicklooked from there. I can even open them. But they cannot be moved or restored.
ok, I really don't understand what's happening but try the following. select one of those weird files in the TM disk in finder.
then type the following in terminal
sudo ditto --noacl
do not press enter yet. drag the file in question to the terminal window. then press space. then type ~/Desktop. the result should look like this
sudo ditto --noacl /path/to/file ~/Desktop
note the spaces before and after the path to the file. then press enter in terminal. you'll have to enter your admin password (which you won't see). that's normal. the command is supposed to copy the file to the desktop. see if it works.
I'm running a repair on my TM drive again just in case I missed some message in Disk Utility.
