Can I restore lost photos from my camera?

I was transferring pictures from my camera to my computer.  I had selected them and was going to drag them to a file on computer but hit delete instead.  Is there a way to recover them?

AngelHill, I can understand how this can be concerning. Did you have your photos backed up on your phone/sd or to a social media site like flickr? If they were not backed up then unfortunately they will not be able to be recovered.^SP

  • Hi, I can't download my photos from my camera onto iPhoto!

Hi, I can't download my photos from my camera into iPhoto!  A few months ago I bought iPhoto 9.1.1 (on it's own from iTunes) and it's been working fine till now.  When I plug in the camera (Lumix LX3) the flying pizza starts and eventually I have to turn off the camera and force quit iPhoto.  I don't think it can be a camera problem as I have successfully dowloaded same photos from same camera onto my laptop (with older version of iPhoto) and it works perfectly. Please help me - what am I doing wrong?  Also, is there a limit to the amount of photos i can keep in iPhoto?  I have quite a lot, and wonder if it simply is full up and cannot take any more?  Thanks! Mands

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • How can I get all photos from the camera roll onto the photo stream so they will share between iphone and ipad?

How can I get all photos from the camera roll, and all new pictures taken, to get on the photostream so they can share between iphone and ipad?

When turning PhotoStream on with photos available in the Camera Roll, only photos captured by the iPhone or saved on the iPhone are placed in the PhotoStream.
For all photos that were in the Camera Roll prior to turning PhotoStream on, import the photos with your computer and add the photos to your PhotoStream on your computer.

How can I recover deleted photos from my camera roll and my photo stream?
    Please, help me!

I finally got up with a solution.
All you need is the photo file from your last backup.
You can extract this file from your backup by using iBackupbot for itunes. Get this via:
    http://www.icopybot.com/itunes-backup-manager.htm
Once you get this file you extract the photos in form of original database file. The screenshots on the website will help you to know how to extract the files.
Okay so now when you've got the photo file you simply need to SSH into your phone to /private/var/mobile/Library/photo were you'll already see a photo file.
Replace the old photo file that you've extracted from the backup by the one that already exist in.
Don't forget to keep an extra copy of the new photo file if in case you go wrong somewhere.
It worked for me and I hope it works for you too.
Thanks mende1, you were indirectly helpful.

You can import the photos and videos from the camera roll on the iPhone 4s with your computer followed by transferring the imported photos and videos from your computer to the iPhone 5s via the iTunes sync/transfer process.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083
Photos and videos in the iPhone's camera roll or included with the iPhone's backup. You can update the backup for your iPhone 4s if not already updated followed by transferring the backup for your for 4S to the iPhone 5s. This will include all data included with the backup for the for 4S.

  • Can I delete my photos from my camera roll and they still be in my photo scream and on my computer?

Can I delete all my photos from my camera roll and still have those photos in my photo stream and on my computer? Or if I delete those photos, will they also be deleted from my photo stream and my computer?

Photos deleted out of the camera roll will not delete out of Photostream. However you want to make sure that you save your photos in your photostream somewhere before they are deleted on thier 31st day.

  • I can longer upload my photos from my camera, after 10.6 update. Unreadable

I used to connect my camera, and iPhoto would open, show the photos in boxes, I would hit Import All, and BAM! It was done! Now, when I connect my camera and iPhoto opens up, the boxes show up with no pictures inside, and if I hit Import All, it goes really fast, but doesn't really import anything. Says, Unreadable Files. But the files are .JPGs. I don't understand! What do I need to do?

What problem are you trying to fix? I thought you were trying to get photos from your camera to iPhoto.
Yes that is a toughie. Plug it in to the Mac. Put your camera's card in it.
    Crap.
    You're welcome.

I have never seen a USB Card Reader. That's why I asked. Remember, despite being consumers with the same computer, we're not all blessed with all the ways of the computer world. Second, the "crap" response was to the fact that I don't want to have to use a stupid card reader to pull my photos from my camera to iPhoto. Never had to do it before, don't want to have to do it that way from here out. My thought was that a Mac just "works." So, when I plug in the USB for my printer, it just works. And when I mount my camera, the pics show up, ask me to import it the way it always has, and imports. Easy. I didn't imagine upgrading to Snow Leopard would cause things like this that no one can help me fix, other than giving me band-aids like puling the pics off with an auxilary device.
It wasn't meant to be smarmy or arrogant, it is a frustrated comment. Another problem happened yesterday by which iPhoto wouldn't even open. Said the disk was locked, and I didn't have access to the library. Wow. And yes, I repaired and verified permissions after I upgraded. I rebooted the computer, came up like a charm.

  • How can I restore delete photos from my iPhone4?

I´ve created a new paste and transfered some existing photos to the new paste. It was ok. I checked the photos and they were in the two pastes. So I went to the main photo paste and deleted the photos that I had transfered to the new one. When I confirmed if it was all done, all photos that I transfered was deleted from the new paste too! 3 months of photos of my 7months baby boy!

When you delete a photo from your Camera Roll that you have also copied to a new album on your iPhone, you get a warining:
Delete everywhere These photos are used in an album. Do you want to delete them from everywhere?
Did you get that message and then select Delete Everywhere?

  • How can I save my photos from my camera roll, my photo stream on the icloud so that I don't lose my photos if I upgrade phone or just because I need space and I don't want to delete or lose pictures.

Can I save my camera roll pics, my photo stream pics from my iphone 5 into icloud so I don't lose pics if I upgrade phone or because I need space

    No.
iCloud isn't a file storage service.
You can backup your camera roll but you can only restore the entire roll to the device.
Backup your photos to your computer.

  • I expand my icloud storage but i can't find my photos from my camera roll?

Before I subscribed for icloud storage I read that all pictures from camera roll will be save also so I did subscribe but now that im viewing my icloud i couldn't find any except the one's from photo stream. What happened now to my photos in my camera roll? where can i find it?

The Camera Roll is for temporary storage. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer ASAP as with any other digital camera. The Camera Roll is also included with the iPhone's backup, which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process.
If the photos/videos were not imported by your computer and your iPhone wasn't synced with iTunes since the photos/videos were captured by your iPhone,
There is another way to recover deleted photo from iPhone 4.

  • Can I retrieve my photos from My Camera Roll from an iPhone 5 if it was stolen?

I recently had my iPhone 5 stolen. I was pretty sure my phone was backed up in iCloud (I had restored that way from a previous phone when I got this phone in question). But it does not appear in my "restore from" devices. I had hundreds of photos on that phone but did not have any specific photo synching or backups (as i thought the entire phone was backed up). Is there any way to retrieve those photos?
    Please help and thank yo,
    Kelly

You would have iCloud backup if and only if you did both of the following on your iPhone:
    1.  Settings > iCloud > Backup > iCloud Backup must have been turned "On"
    2.  Your iPhone must have been plugged in, locked, and connected to WiFi.
If you do have an iCloud backup, the only way to restore it would be when opening another iPhone (or iPad) and having it go through the Setup Assistant (as if it were a brand new device).

  • How can I recover lost photos from a restore on an iPod touch 4g

Ok so I have an iPod touch 4g that I had not used for about 2 months as I have been travelling. When I tried to use it I realised that I had forgotten my passcode and as I sold the laptop that I used to use to sync my iPod to just before I went travelling I have no back ups of data and I couldn't unlock my iPod. So in the end I decided I had to restore the iPod using my sisters laptop so that I could use it again as I didnt know the passcode. However my problem is that I had lots of photos stored on my iPod that were special to me and my family, is there any way that I can retrieve these photos?
If anyone can help I would be very grateful
    thanks

This place might work but you have to send the iPod to them

  • Can I restore just photos from iCloud 4 backup to 4s?

I upgraded my iPhone 4 to ios5 and have a backp in iCloud of the iPhone4.  When I subsequently upgraded to an iPhone 4s my photos and messages were as of September.  Is there a way to get just the photos restored out of my iphone4 backup from ICloud or will it restore everything and therefore obliterate recent emails?

Restore from iCloud is all or nothing. You can't select just a few items.
