Can i restore my phone from the last back up after settingit up as a new iphone
I just got my replacement phone from the sprint store and the guy couldn't back it up or restore it from my last back up. It won't allow me to restore it without the new update. Help anyone? I'm getting frustrated

And that's exactly the problem, because everyone should have their own account for iCloud. You can share an Apple ID for iTunes & App Store purchases, but you shouldn't do that for iCloud (Mail, Calendar, Contacts etc. ... ...and Photos). The problem of using the same account together could mean that only your dad's photos were stored.

I just lost some photos stored on my iphone by saying "yes" to restoring my phone to the latest back up (this is a new phone having had the previous phone stolen). I (stupidly) didn't realise this would delete photos I had taken since the last back up. Does anyone know if I can recover these photos?
Unfortunately, if these photos had not been transferred off the phone in some way, before restoring from the previous backup, they are now gone.
Did you have iCloud's Photostream feature setup? If so, they may have been uploaded to that. -
is there anyway i can retrieve recent text messages from the last 2 days and have them printed off after they have been deleted from my phone? this is seriously important i need this for an attourney!

I recently had to get a new phone due to damage. But when I backed it up from the last back up which was a week ago, it didn't put any apps or songs that I purchased on my phone during the last week. How do I get those back?
Itunes content and pics are NOT part of the backup that itunes performs.

You should transfer any purchases from iphone regularly: File>Transfer Purchases , if they fail to be transferred when you sync.
You buy one and only one download. It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your purchases.
You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception, but they are under no obligation to allow.

I am trying to restore my phone from the backed up information on my computer. It is asking me for a password. I tried my screen lock code and my apple id. Does anyone know what password it wants?

open itunes on computer
plug cable into computer not phone
turn phone off
hold home button and plug cable into phone. do not release home button until an itunes graphic appears on device.
look to computer should have message about recovery mode click ok and restore

My son and I both have iphones with the same Apple ID. Since I installed iOS this morning I have started receiving all my sons texts and when I send him a text it is delivered to both of us. How can I remove my phone from the joint Apple ID and remove myself from finding out what he is up to during Freshers week!

Having a bad day my iTunes library got corrupted and my back up disk has failed how can I restore my purchases from the iTunes store? When I try it tells me the pruchases have already been downloaded to this computer.
Does your purchased rmusic appears under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) ? If they do and you don't have the cloud symbol against them so as to re-download them, then do you still have the entries for them in your library i.e. where you would normally click on them to play them ? If you do then try deleting them from there (iTunes will be seeing them and assuming that you still have them somewhere) and they should then get the cloud symbol for re-downloading in the Purchased link.

I work for an Enterprise with around 30 devices so far, 5 of them have been upgraded to iOS 5.01 and we are having this issue, the steps below are appearing, these are both on iphone and ipad 2's with exchange 2003:-
- Exchange Calendars not sync'ing, but Yahoo account working fine.
- Create an appointment on the ipad / iphone and this sync's with Exchange.
- Close the Calendar and re-open the appointment disappears, but stay's within Exchange.
- Meetings created within the Exchange Calendar do not synch with the iphone / ipad.
This is starting to cause a lot of issues.

Some facts to consider before replying:
1. I do not have the ITL file, so that solution is out.
2. My ipod was restored so NO ratings there either.
3. So far I have only seen programs to use BEFORE losing your itunes library. IF YOU KNOW a third party's program can help me AFTER THE FACT then tell me about it.
4. I HAVE searched these forums for previous threads. (a) searching engine needs big help and (b) among the 2 dozen finds, no solution for "only XML" found. If you got THAT threads url, post it!
So, using an old library.xml file, is there a way to get this info into itunes.

How do I do a back of all new music beginning from the last back up date?
The built in backup to disc feature was removed from iTunes several builds ago. Either start a new spanning disc set with 3rd party software or switch to a more reliable process backing up to a secondary hard drive or shared network folder with the method in this User Tip.

You re-sync them by setting up your iCloud account under Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and turning on the 'contact sync', assuming that's what you were syncing them with before. If you were not syncing them with iCloud (syncing is NOT the same as backing up), then you will have to re-sync them from whatever you were syncing them with.

Find my iphone... does it find it from the last back up?
I lost my phone today and when I used the find my iphone tool, it says it is somewhere in my home, but I have searched high and low.. to no avail. The device has nto been backed up in months, becuase theres to much data; does it work from the last time i backed it up, or does that not amke a difference
That backup function of iCloud and the Find My iPhone feature are two seperate features and have absolutely no effect on each other. If you are able to locate the device, that means it is currently on and you should be able to use the 'Play a Sound' feature form the Find My iPhone App or icloud.com/find and it will make a very loud annoying alert just for situations like yours, even if the iPhone is on silent.
