Can I Restore ORACLE PORTAL HOMEPAGE?

I deleted some portlets for the Oracle Portal's homepage. Now I am unable to use some of the administration features. Is there a way for me to restore this page or do I have to uninstall Portal and install it all over again?

Pl see if this link can help - http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/index.html

    Hi,
I've installed Oracle 9i Portal on Windows2000. Login server

    Pl. reply.
    Thanx in advance,

8.1.7 installs scott using System for the default and temporary
tablespace. This can sometimes cause problems. To avoid problems,
do the following for scott user:
    a) As system, issue the following commands:
    ALTER USER scott
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE users
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
    b) Log in as scott and move all of scott's objects to the
    users tablespace.
    For example:
    ALTER TABLE tablename
    MOVE TABLESPACE users;
    I hope this will help.

    Thanks for the reply Rohini.
The SYS password is change_on_install and SYSTEM password is manager. It still causes the same problem. The database I am using is an Oracle 8i database which is automatically created while installing Oracle 9iAS.
I also tried to install Oracle Portal on an Oracle 9i Database on the same machine and this comes out with a different error. It tells me the SHARED_POOL_SIZE is less than 31457280 whereas as I checked through SQL*Plus its actually much more than that!
    Can you please help?
    Thanks,

  • Oracle Portal not working after upgrading from 1.0.2 to 1.0.2.1

    Hi All,
    Previously I had
    9iAS : 1.0.2.0.0
    Portal: 3.0.7.6.2
    OS: Win NT
    and I upgraded to
    9iAS: 1.0.2.1.0
    Portal: 3.0.8 (using scripts)
    Now the scenario is
I can access: Apache, Servlet(IsItWorking) and JSP samples. But now I can't access Oracle portal (ie http://host:port/pls/portal30/). Even Login Server is coming properly (ie http://host:port/pls/portal30_sso/)
There was no errors during upgrade scripts. Also I check the portal30 schema for invalid objects. But there were no invalid objects in that schema.
According to me, all the modules of apache are working only except mod plsql and so i can not access Portal. It gives misconfiguration error from apache. So what can be the problem??
    Any ideas in this.
    Thanks in advance.

There was an issue reported on this upgrade having to do with multiple entries in the Apache configuration files. Check your .conf files for duplicate entries.

  • Oracle Portal as site builder

    Hi,
We found Oracle Portal very strange!
We used to work with OpenCms Portal, for building our site. This is a Content Management Tool; which enables users to build a site easily. Please look at www.opencms.org.
If user wants to create a page
1- He clicks on new page button.
2- System displays some templates. The user selects one.
3- System shows a WYIWYS screen, User can add his test to page (make it bold, italic, draw table...) or drag & drop some images from image gallery.
4- After editing a page, the user saves the page and close.
5- Site administrator will publishes the page on the net.
After publishing the page the end-user access the site from internet. The page is automatically added to site menu and is displayed in the site structure.
Can we do above if we switch to Oracle Portal?
In other word, can I get Oracle Portal to build a site which looks some like: http://www.alkacon.com or http://www.bp.co.za
Is there some WYIWYS tool in the portal

  • Oracle Portal with Oracle Web Cache

How can I configure Oracle Portal (or Web Cache) to work together?
I have installed and started both of them. Now, Web Cache works fine with standard html pages (for example Apache docs) but after trying to reach portal the url is redirected to standard port - on which Portal runs (Web Cache works on 1100 and Portal on 7778).
So it seems that portal pages are not cached.
    Web Cache:
    Application Web Servers:
    hpwin 7778 100 30 5 / 10
Where can I find any information about that?
    best regards
    KJ

Portal PM, I thought you said that this solution would not work. Everyone I have heard so far has said that you cannot configure webcache to work with Portal documents. Does this work or does it not?
Read the messages below from the bottom up.
It's not possible to do that today.
In 9.0.2 (the next release) we will be using WebCache configured out of the box so you won;t need to, however, till then you cannot use webcache with Portal 3.0.x
    Thanks

    Port <webcache port>
    Listen <apache listen port>
    ServerName <webcache hostname>
you must running ssodatan script again.
    Note :
this config only make portal work together with webcache.

  • Oracle Portal 10g WSRP allways requires registration

    Hi
i'm trying to register a provider in Oracle Portal and my producer doesn't support the optional WSRP registration service.
When I try to register the provider I get an error "serialization error: unexpected null value for literal data."
I've setup a proxy to look into the SOAP messages and I can see that Oracle Portal is trying to call the RegistrationService even though the producer is returning "requiresRegistration=false".
Is there any way to configure the Portal consumer not to use the RegistrationService?
    My environment is:
    Oracle Portal (10.1.2)
    Repository Metadata (10.1.4)
    Windows 2003 Server
    Cheers
    Nuno

You need to install Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 and then run a simple repository upgrade to bring Oracle Portal to 10.1.4. This will enable the 3rd registration option: WSRP. This is the OTN software download page.

  • Downloading Oracle Portal Pages

    Hi,
I have made a demo site using Oracle Portal on my Computer.
I need to give this site to someone who does not have Oracle Portal on his computer.
Is there anyway I can download the Oracle Portal pages to normal HTML pages and view the files on the local machine for offline browsing.
Please let me know if there is a tool which can do the above.
    Please reply urgently
    Thanks

You're in the wrong forum. Try the WebCenter forum:
    WebCenter Portal
And I'd suggest narrowing the scope of your question. A fully-fledged portal that... does what? (Again, don't answer here :) )

  • Oracle Portal X ECM

    Hi Gurus,
Someone knows how can i integrate Oracle Portal with ECM ? Can you pass to me any link about this question? I need to know if it is possible and how can i do. If anyone could help me about this?
Thank you very much for attention,
    Thiago Leôncio

    Hi
I have done the integration of Oracle ECM with the Oracle Portal and I am putting down the steps that I followed to get it working. It's a plain vanilla integration that I have done without any customisations yet deployed.
    1. Install a CIS on one of the webservers (weblogic, oracle or anyother) and install the CIS helper component on the CS that will be the base for the portal to communicate with.
    2. Install the latest portal server (Oracle 10.1.0.4) as this version is the one that supports JSR and WSRP v1 and v2
    3. Install a standalone OC4J that will act as the producer for the portal( the same can be deployed on the OC4J_Portal as well but i preferred a standalone one)
    4. Deploy the Stellent CPS portlet ear file on the portal application server and verify that the portlets have deployed fine by testing the test page URL.
    5. Now Logon to the Portal Builder Application and then add the WSRP url for the portlet deployed on the portal server by extracting the url for the same from the portal server admin page.
    6. Add the WSRP producer url on the Builder with the required values as given in the CPS deployer guide and then you can just go to the Buillder App and see that the portlets that you have deployed on the Portal App server could be seen from there and then accessed as well.
This is just a basic way of integrating the ECM-Portal server and have not detailed the nittie gritties of the integration. The details of these steps can be found in the CPS deployer guide.
Let me know if this helps you out.

  • Can no longer connect to iProjects using Oracle Portal

From one day to the other, I can no longer connect to iProjects using Oracle Portal. It gives the message "Cannot connect to iprojects-files.oracle.com" because the username or password is incorrect. I can connect using the web interface though, using the same username and password. I type my username in uppercase and password in lowercase. Tried other combinations (upper and lower) as well, to no avail.
    Any Idea?

JEM24 , your suggestion is included in:

  • How can I connect to the portal homepage on a 9i Database

I successfully installed Oracle 9iAS on a MS Windows NT machine
and configured the Portal Server on an Oracle 9i Database on
    another machine (Windows 2000).
But when I try to call the portal homepage (portal30.home), I
get the following error: "The preference path does not exist:
    Oracle.Portal.Page (WWC-51000)".
I can successfully call the .../admin_/gateway.htm page and
connect over there to the database.
The shared_pool_size parameter is large enough (92274688).
I installed the portal server manually, without the GUI, because
the connection to the database during the installation was only
    enabled as SYSDBA or SYSOPER.
How can I also get connected to portal homepage?
    Thanks,
    Reinaldo

can i connect my roku box to the 2nd AE's ethernet port?
    Yes
will it make any difference? (as opposed to the roku box, used for netflix, picking up it's signal wirelessly).
Probably not, since the AirPort Express is picking up its signal via wireless.
The same signal just appears at the Ethernet port. If anything, the signal at the Ethernet port will have a bit less bandwidth than the wireless signal since the Express must convert from wireless to Ethernet...and you always lose something in the conversion process.
Normally, you would use the Ethernet port if a device did not have wireless capability.

  • How can I uninstall a damaged installation of Fusion - PFRD 11.1.1.6.0 - Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer

    Hello,
I am upgrading EBS 11i to 12i, Discoverer 4 to 11. After completing ebs installation and upgrade successfully, I am now working on the Oracle Fusion piece of the upgrade.
    I have installed
    1. JDK
    2. Repository Creation Utility - RCU (schema)
    3. Weblogic - WLS 10.3.6
    4. Oracle Fusion - Discoverer 11g Release 1 Patchset 1 11.1.1.2.0 PFRD
    5. Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g Patchset 11.1.1.6.0 - Patchset 13517084
    6. Executed config.sh and it failed with but continued.
During the Configuration of Oracle Fusion with config.sh there was failure at with "fails at creating data sources" and accidentally proceeded and all seem to go well until after shutting down the servers when Weblogic Managed Server is unable to start.
The start log indicated: "weblogic.store.PersistentStoreFatalException: [Store:280105]The persistent file store "_WLS_WLS_DISCO" cannot open file _WLS_WLS_DISCO000000.DAT." and I have been unable to find a solution for this error?
See log file error at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15497130/oracle/ebs11/startManagedWebLogic.sh_nohup.out
If re-installation is my only option, then what are the steps to uninstall, and which components do I have to uninstall given that I had upgraded all the schemas involved?
    Mathias

    Hey,
You can always change the JDBC datasources in the Weblogic admin console . but have you recorded what is the specific error you got during the datasources creation .
I prefer...create a new user , give him sysdba privillages . Start RCU and create the DEV_DISCOVERER , DEV_DISCOVERER_PS schemas (prefix is your choice)
The Admin server will start . so go to admin console .
    click services -> Data Sources
Check the data sources you have . edit each datasource and update the connection pool information .
after this you can start the Managed server WLS_DISCO
i believe this will solve this .........
if you still get issue again . you can try the link Using the WebLogic Persistent Store
    Thanks

  • Can Oracle Portal work without Oracle HTTP Server ?.

    Hi,
We are developing on Oracle Portal 10.1.4.
We are trying to use IPlanet Web Server instead of Oracle HTTP server. In such a case can Portal run with IPlanet Web server. alone ?.
Can we eliminate Oracle HTTP Server altogether ?.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Panai.

Third party HTTP Servers can be used with the OracleAS Proxy Plug-in. I have not done any tests with them however. The documentation states that it will enable you to integrate Sun ONE Web Server Enterprise Edition on UNIX and Windows systems, or the Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) on Windows systems.
Oracle Portal is tightly integrated with Oracle Web Cache. This might limit the usability of the OracleAS Proxy plugin.
More info is available in the documentation :
