You have 14 days from date of purchase. You need all the packaging plus your receipt.

Can i exchange the new ipad that i bought yesterday even if i used and downloaded a few apps? I bought the 16g wifi only from apple store and wants to exchange it to 16g wifi with 3g.

You have a 14 day return period for iPad bought from the Apple store so yes, you can take it back for a refund and buy the 3G version instead.

Clifton I must disagree with you on the above statement. It is my opinion and experience that you should never connect the camera directly to any computer, Mac Windows Whatever.
It is always best to Remove the memory card from the camera and put it in a card reader, whether an external reader or one built into the computer, to copy images from the card.
Hi Shootist. I would be interested in hearing some reasoning on this. I almost always use a USB cable to connect my camera to the MBP for transferring pictures, and have moved about 30,000 this way over the last 6 years since my photography went digital. Recently, on the rare occassions when I have only a few to transfer and I was too lazy to go for the cable, I have used the card reader; about half those times I have difficulty getting the MBP to recognise the card. I find I have to press the card very hard into the slot for it to be recognised.
My rationale is quite possibly wrong, but I feel that the USB connectors are more robust and hard-wearing than the flimsy connectors on an SD card. Also, I haven't measured it, but I think the data transfer is faster with the cable. (I just came across this test, which reports noticeably faster transfer for cable than built-in card reader, but the computer was a PC)
Chiara, sorry for hijacking your thread.

  • HT204150 I have only 2 choices for contact groups on the iPhone 5, hotmail and iCloud. If I click both then I have all my hotmail contacts which I don't want. However if I only click iCloud, any new contacts I add don't show up :(

Only contacts added to the iCloud group will sync with iCloud.  To make this your default, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...scroll down to the Contacts section and tap Default Account.  Here, choose iCloud as your default.  After doing so, new contacts will be added to iCloud and sync with your iCloud account.

I have a WiFi-only iPad, so do not know what I'm talking about.
According to one source, only the US AT&T version can be used with SIMS from carriers in other countries.  But you can get one that is universally compatible if ordered from Apple as 4G with no carrier specified.
Perhaps someone with a more reliable source can shed light on this.  Or you can contact Apple directly!
    Fred
iPads are not carrier locked. All new iPads 3G/4G have sim slots and will work with foreign sims. Wifi-only iPads do not have sim slots, for obvious reasons, no 3G or 4G capability.
Here are the specs from the most reliable source. http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/ What is it that is not clear?

  • How do I get my ipad charger working when i've only had it for 3 months

I plugged my ipad in when it said low battery. Then it got very hot and said unable to support this device. Then i thought it might be the outlet, so i plugged it in somewhere else. When I left in alone for about, 5 minutes and came back to check on it, The ipad was dead plugged in. I got this ipad in November and the charger came with it, the ipad was brand new and not used! So i have no idea why it is not working! and if anyone has any idea please help. Also I am unable to go to a store to see what the problem is, because of the current snow storm!
    Thank you,

Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

    In the meantime....
Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.htmlhttp://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Can I buy a new iPad that uses a sim card to use with my local carrier? They only offer the iPad 2 for sale.

A quick Google search shows Union Wireless is GSM.  Buy the AT&T version (GSM) iPad.  You don't have to purchase iPad 2.  You can purchase the newer iPad from Apple or Best Buy, or even Walmart.  In either case, you get a micro sim from Union Wireless, purchase a data plan and enjoy.........

Are you trying to download them from your purchased list?  If so, make sure you are signed in with the Apple ID you used to purchase them in Settings>iTunes & App Store, and that the apps are still available for purchase in the App store.  Then you should be able to download them as explained here: Download past purchases.
If that isn't your question, please explain further.

IIRC, you can only download  a maximum file size of 100MB with cellular.

I had a belkin keyboard for my old iPad.  I have upgraded to an iPad air.  Can I get a new case that will allow me to use my old keyboard?  How?  Where?

You might look for generic cases. They're not as sturdy or durable as custom made ones - they tend to use elastic to hold in the iPad and keyboards - but that elastic does give them some flexibility.
Or see if Belkin has anything.
Or you may simply be out of luck with the compatibility. My Keyboard is in a case custom built for my 2 and I know whatever tablet I replace my iPad with I'll be getting a new keyboard as well because it most likely won't fit in a new case.

  • Can I return my new iPhone?

    Hi all,
Can I return my new iPhone 4? I have had it for a week, and just wondering if I can return the phone, and how that would work with AT&T?
Why, you ask? I think overall the phone has sub-standard quality, at least what I had grown used to with my 3Gs. My 3Gs was a tank, and had fantastic reception, and was fast. I am a power user, use my phone all day for business, uss Apps & games everyday on wifi and 3G. My 3Gs was very reliable, and rock solid. No complaints. And I am also a decades long Apple user, having bought several MacBooks, and an iPad earlier this year.
My complaints? The phone is slow. I live in Manhattan where there are cell towers on every block. Sending/receiving email is painfully slow and often times out, even when I am connected to a high speed home wifi signal. Calls now drop nearly every time I call someone. And again, I live in one of the best places for AT&T coverage in the US. Games are also slow, they "stutter" as if the OS is slow.
There are yellow spots on my screen. With a case the squared body is thick, and does not lend itself to slipping in your pants pocket. And sorry, if you dont use a case and a screen protector your phone will get trashed in no time, its common sense. This phone feels fragile, as opposed to the 3Gs which was a tank. My dropped my 3Gs several times over the last two years, only breaking the screen once which was easily replaced. I feel like if I drop this phone it will crumple.
Overall the iPhone 4 has been a low performing fragile phone. The yellow spots really top it all for me. The quality is not Apple, and this recent update wasn't revolutionary(it doesn't change the way we compute), its cosmetic & merely the old OS in a better looking body with some superficial new features.
Again, I am a proud life long Apple owner. But this is the first time I have been very disappointed by their products.

Like Obama says... yes you can
I did it last week because I bought an iPhone 4 as a wedding gift but then I changed my mind and wanted an iPad, so the bride could use it together with the groom (while the phone is personal).
I returned the iPhone to the apple store and I paid the difference to buy the 32GB iPad, no problems
I didn't opened the case, but the guy at the apple store told me I could have returned the phone even if it was opened. It must be undamaged tough.
