Can I revive an expired 4GEE PAYG sim?

Last year I visited the UK form Australia for 4 weeks and bought a 4GEE PAYG sim. Worked a treat for the duration of my visit. I've reverted to my Telstra sim since returning back to Oz and havent used EE since late August 2014.I'm returning to the UK in the next couple of days - can I reuse the EE sim card from last year - I notice the top up card has an expiry date 11/23 written on it - is that 23rd Nov - or Nov 2023?
If the latter I asume I can plughin the EE sim when I get to London and top up my data and keep the same number EE Uk number?Cheers
Dave

Hi s.kouris,
I'm afraid that unless you are able to contact the previous owner and have him wipe the device, or provide you with his Apple ID password so you can delete the iCloud account, you are out of luck.
With iOS 7, an Activiation Lock was added to deter thieves. This lock prevents anyone but the owner of the device from deleting the iCloud account and restoring the device:

Unless you are able to reach the original owner and get the device wiped or the iCloud account deleted, you are stuck with a brick.
Sorry,

  • Can I convert my contract to PAYG when it ends without having to call EE?

I have a contract that expires on the 18th of October. I'm currently in Australia and will be for a year so will not be using my English number and as a result do not want to continue with my contract after it expires. I would however like to keep my number so I'd like to convert my contract to PAYG or put it on hiatus until I retun if that is possible. I know I can do this by calling EE but as I am in Australia calls home are £1.20 per minute, which I really don't want to pay especially if I might be put on hold for an indefinite amount of time. I know I should have got this sorted before I left but I assumed I'd be able to do it online. Is there any way that I can do this without having to call EE?

Unfortunately cancelling a contract including, transferring the contract and number to Pay As You Go I believe can only be performed by contacting the upgrades and retentions department over the phone.
I am not sure if they can put a number on hiatus
I think a new PAYG Sim Card will need to be posted out to you which will need to go to your UK address

  • 3 Network PAYG SIM for iPad

When I bought my iPad 3 months ago I got a PAYG SIM card from 3 that gave me a 3GB allowance lasting for 3 months for £20.49 which has suited me just fine as I haven't used up anywhere near 3GB as I tend to use WiFi connections most of the time. Now it has expired I was intending to top up the card with exactly the same allowance, but when I try to do so directly from the iPad the only options I get are Pay Per Day 500MB £2.99, or Pay Per Month @ £10/1GB, £15/3GB or £25/7GB but no option to buy 3GB that lasts up to 3 months as I had to start with. If I go to the main 3 shop on-line I can buy another SIM at the same price I paid initially, which may well be the easiest solution, but it seems a little bizarre that I can't just top up the SIM I have installed. Anyone else noticed this

In case anyone's interested - I called into a local 3 Store to find out how to top up my SIM card to give me another 3GB for 3 months @£20.49 and apparently you can't so had to buy another SIM card - weird!

  • I need to know if I buy an iPhone 5 or 5c in the US whether it will work in the UK with a PAYG sim

I am currently living in the USA but will be moving back to the UK next year. I am not familiar with US phones or network providers. I have done a little research re CDMA / GSM  / frequencies etc but am just confused!!!
I would like to buy my daughter an iPhone but would like her to be able to use it when we visit the UK on vacation or when we move back. Ideally I do not want to be tied to a contract here and would prefer PAYG but if thats not an option would possibly consider it.
Is this going to be possible?
If so What do I need to be looking out for?
In the UK it is quite simple...I would just buy an unlocked phone or have one of the UK carriers unlock it for me and then just use overseas with a PAYG sim but are the phones here sim free?
    Please help.
    Many thanks
    Jo

The answer is complicated. None of the major carriers offer PAYG service in the US, but if you buy a contract-free phone for full price you can get a plan that can be canceled at any time from any of the major carriers (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile). There are smaller resellers that offer PAYG service (StraightTalk, for example), but they are hard to deal with.
The most liberal is the GSM carrier T-Mobile. They have "unbundled" the phone from the service, so if you bring your own phone or pay full price for a phone the monthly cost will be lower.
The other 3 will charge you the same monthly cost whether you pay full price for the phone or get a subsidized phone.
Verizon iPhone 5 series phones are unlocked out of the box for international use (thanks to a condition the FCC imposed on Verizon when they were allowed to buy a substantial chunk of spectrum). They are the only phones sold in the US that will work on LTE bands in the UK and Europe.
Sprint is not a good choice, because they give you a hard time if you want to unlock your phone.
AT&T phones are locked, but they will unlock the phone if you pay full price or pay off your early termination fee. However, they will only work on GSM in the UK, not on LTE (4G).

  • I have a EE PAYG Sim to fit in my house alarm, however i have tried to register

I have a EE PAYG Sim to fit in my house alarm, however i have tried to register on EE and as you go through the process it says you need the pin number that has been text to the the mobile. I cannot access the text. Does anybody have a way i can register. I have tried ringing customer service and they have not been able to help. All i want to register for is to see how much i have left on the sim.

    Hi,
Put the sim in a mobile phone register, obtain the pin and then put the sim back in the alarm.
    Thanks

  • I get "ANONYMOUS PAYMENT - ERROR" when I try to register a new PAYG SIM?

I am trying to add a PAYG sim to my account. I fill in the detail, get the access code text and enter the 6 digit pin. I then get an error "ANONYMOUS PAYMENT - ERROR", "We're working on fxing this page" and "INVALID_INPUT". I have seen other posts with this error and one mentions that it is a problem with EE servers?

Thanks P Spier, we think this may be to do with a recent installation of Anti-Virus, my user has stated the following:
"Yesterday I copies all my pages over to a brand new file….deleted the corrupt file….and now this new file is having the same problem.
I find I can make a copy of the file on my desktop but I cannot save the same ( edited version) file…it will give me the error and then it crashes."

  • Italian 3G Iphone, Spanish Vodaphone PAYG Sim card English idiot! Help!

Hello Newbie here, I am hoping someone can advise me.
The situation is this. I have been bought a 3g 16gb Iphone from Italy, legally unlocked from "Vodafone Gestioni S.p.a."
I am English and live in Spain. I have a Spanish Vodafone "Pay as you go" sim card.
This has been put into the Iphone, the Iphone activated and all works well! No problems at all. I have downloaded songs, got maps, sent and received e-mails etc..(I might add that the Iphone software is up to date 2.2)
However all this is done via WIFI, as the Spanish Vodafone PAYG card is just for normal phone calls.
If someone who has the knowledge could please advise me... is it possible for me to keep this "Vodaphone sim card" and add on internet access? if so how?
If I had to put in a different Spanish Vodafone sim card would the Iphone still work?
I realise I have put this on an English BB but I am afraid my Spanish is just not up to speed on this type of thing!
Any help or advice would be gratefully received, and thank you for reading this!
    Sincerely, Mike T

I have an Iphone 3g 16gb from Vodafone Italy, legally unlocked. (I live here in Spain) I put in my Spanish “Vodafone” PAYG sim card and it works well. No problems, maps, songs, applications and phone calls etc.
I went into a "Vodafone” store here today and asked how I could get internet access and how much.
I had to take out a 18 month contract but the pricing was not too bad. It was:
€12 + IVA per month for unlimited internet access (first month free) and
€9 + IVE per month for phone calls (a call costs 18 centimos a minute.
If you make less then €9 worth of calls per month you still have to pay the €9
if you make more than €9 then you have to pay the extra.
Well it is now Friday 05, and I can report success, thank you everybody for your help.
I signed the contract which was €12 for internet access and €9 for talk. when you add IVA it comes to a total €24:36.
For that I get internet access at a pretty consistent 3/4 of Mb or 7816 kbits, with no limits.
For talking it is a 15 cent connection charge plus 18 cents a minute ( I only use it for emergencies) plus I have one special number (to the wife mobile) which is the same connection charge but only 3 cent a minute.
The contract was for 18 months, so all in all I am pretty pleased, especially when I compare it with O2 here in Spain.
Finally the settings (airtelnet.es vodafone, vodafone) worked fine.
Once again thanks for all your help and thanks for reading this. Mike T

  • Can i use my iphone without a sim card as a ipod

can i use my iphone without a sim card as a ipod?

The SIM card is not required to use an iPhone as an iPod or to be used for anything else besides cell phone related services.
For a no longer activated iPhone, the no longer activated SIM card that was used with the iPhone when it was activated must be inserted in the iPhone in order to install an iOS update and for no other reason.

how can i import contacts from my regular sim to iphone 5 (nano sim)

Sync the phone with the regular sim to the appropriate program on your
computer. When you set up the iPhone 5 in iTunes on that computer, you
will be offered the chance to import the contacts, etc.
Or take old phone and new iPhone to your wireless provider. They have the
    equipment to do this quickly.

  • How can I check the expiration date of a Certificate Keychain from terminal?

Hello, I am writing a bash script to alert me when my corporate certificates are about to expire. How can I check the expiration date of a certificate in keychain? I'm running Mac OS 10.6.8 on a newer MacBook pro with full admin rights.
Specifically I will be checking three certs: a Root Authority, Issuing Authority, and a user cert (Identity).
I was exploring the Security and Openssl command line tools. But I can't seem to get the info I need.
    Any recommendations would be appreciated.
    Thank you!

  • Why do i have more than one "Sites" cert after updateing and expired cert. Can i delete the expired cert?????

Hi After getting the below message i updated my cert but now have 3 of the same certs? Can i delete the expired cert?????
There is no valid SMTP Transport Layer Security (TLS) certificate for the FQDN of SERVER.domainname.local. The existing certificate for that FQDN has expired. The continued use of that FQDN will cause mail flow problems. A new certificate that contains the
FQDN of SERVER.domainname.local should be installed on this server as soon as possible. You can create a new certificate by using the New-ExchangeCertificate task.
    I used "Get-ExchangeCertificate | Select CertificateDomains,Thumbprint,Status,Services | fl"
to see which cert was expired
    I used "Get-ExchangeCertificate –Thumbprint 91D4C277BE4DF5FA15FC76D936375B7766ABCC23 | New-ExchangeCertificate" to replace the expired cert
    I re-ran "Get-ExchangeCertificate | Select CertificateDomains,Thumbprint,Status,Services | fl"
to see if it had worked
but now i have two certs one expired the other not. Can i delete the expired cert?????

    Hi
Yes you can delete the expired certificate which are showing  as it is not functional anymore and they remain as stale entries
    You can use  below command
Remove-ExchangeCertificate -Thumbprint "specify the value "
