Can I roll back to iOS4?

IOS5 has hosed me. I want it off of my iPad.  How do I uninstall this piece of junk so I can get back to a stable platform?

The install bombed multiple times which should have been my first clue as to the future of this platform.
Welcome any suggestions so the list is as follows:
1)  When i went through the set up questions i had to hard stop the iPad 3 times as the system seemed to have hung up on a few of the questions and would not proceed.  This gives me no confidence in the stability of the OS.  How can i validate that the failures did not impact the installation?
2)  When i used me apple ID that i have had for years  (which was not an e-mail address) i was told that i need to create an id using an e-mail address (which I did).  So now i have music and movies that have been purchased using a different ID than what i have to use to make the functions of iOS5 work.  How do i merge the id's?  Everthing from home share and product purchases as well as my multiple apple products are tied to the old apple id.
3)  My music is gone (assume the iPod icon was replaced w/ the music icon as i cannot find the iPod icon).  Where are the songs that are sitting on iTunes and how do i get them back on to my iPad.
4)  I can no longer attach to my network wirelessly.  any help there would be appreciated.
5)  Several of my apps are no longer working so i have to go troubleshoot all of them as i find them.  wlll post them as they come up.
6)  i use my ipad as an EFB when i fly and found out today that the OS5 platform will delete data from arbitrary applications if it needs additional space.  This would be problematic for me if i am trying to land a plane only to find out that Apple randomly decided that i did not need that information.  How do i stop OS5 from deleting data if it needs more space to accomodate an unrealted application?  I would prefer to control that decision.
7)  iPad Find is not working and neither can I seem to intiatie it.  (although right now i am not really worried about where it is.
8)  may be my bad day w/ Apple, but, the iPad appears to be VERY slow on the things that are working...
Feel free to let me know if you have any ideas.
So why can I not go back to the old version again?!  I like things that work...

  • How Can I Roll Back my iTunes Library?

I'm guessing it may no tbe possible at all, but here goes.
What I would like to do with my music estate is roll back my current iTunes library file, automatically updated to iTunes 11 when updated on MPBr when this was my only PC using iTunes. Now I have three and some iOS devices too. My library has been moved from windows machines to macs and is several years old and has received 100s of hours of tweaking to get it just right.
Now my server is a PowerPC mac and I can only go as far as iTunes 10.6.xx, I want this to be always on and share the library with other PCs accross home sharing (i will sync iPhones over the wi-fi with this PC too, though it may not play with iOS7, so perhaps not).
I want to see the iTunes library on the macbooks, probably through Home Sharing, I also want to be able to sync the iphones, but only have a single copy of the music files on the server. is this possible? This will just be for when out of the house as I can also use home sharing in the house for music.
    Thanks

You say you want to do this with multiple devices.  Let's say you have a new iPhone 5 that requires iTunes 11. You will not be able to sync that if your base iTunes is iTunes 10.6 since your hardware will require at least whatever version of iTunes was current at the time of purchase.  You're seeing this with your iOS7 phone.  Anyway, unless all your hardware is old enough to use the lowest version of iTunes you need to run, you may be out of luck.  You cannot share the library.  Sharing media is different, and relatively easy, but it will be complex to ensure all the multiple libraries are kept up to date.
You also can't roll back iTunes libraries to earlier versions unless you kept a backup of your library from the point to which you wish to revert, or it is still in the previous libraries folder.

i Was considerinf buying a macbook pro, but am reconsidering spending such an amount of money on a company that can screw up such a basic function. I mean you can have your iOS 8 back if this is what it means, I don't want to use your health Kit app.

You cannot 'roll back' your iOS.  That's never been supported or allowed by Apple (with only one exception).
Use this article: iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections - Apple
It's not the iOS.  It may be a setting on your iPhone or the wi-fi network, or a hardware issue.  But it's not the iOS.  If it was, then everyone's iPhone 5S using the same iOS would not be working, and that's not the case.
    Troubleshoot your issue.

That is definitely odd, grantcool. Let's help restore this important data transfer feature. To confirm, when you connect the USB cable to your phone and computer > Pull down the Notification Bar > Select USB Connected > Can you choose Media Sync (MTP) ?

  • Can i roll back to Acrobat 9 Standard from Acrobat X Standard?

Can i roll back to Acrobat 9 Standard from Acrobat X Standard?  I bought Acrobat X license and want to roll back to 9.
    Thanks in advance.

Do you have the Acrobat 9 Standard media?
Do you have an Acrobat 9 Standard serial number?
    If not, then that's a non-starter.
You'll need to talk to Adobe provided that is who you actually purchased the software and not a reseller.
If yes, then it is a matter of removing Acrobat X first
    Rebooting the machines
    Then reinstalling Acrobat 9 Standard.

Seems silly to not allow a rollback from a file repository of previous app versions.

    >All apps are tied to the account that downloaded it, so to be able to sync back the previous version you would need to still have your copy of that version
I'm not sure I follow, I have not sync'd the ipad with my computer. I just saw an update in the app store and took it.
I tried to del and install the app from the purchased tab in the app store, that reinstalled v2.1 of the app. This also fails to launch.
I have made two service requests to the developer, no response at this time.
Is there somewhere I can download and install Remote Files version 2 file? I can only find the new version 2.1 in the app store.

  • Can you roll back updates?

I've recently had a notification on my Xperia T to say it had a software update available. So I installed it today. It's perhaps a bit more modern but it's terribly annoying. For a start it deleted the android browser with all of my bookmarks, which was pretty annoying, but mostly it's the way the keyboard works. I use the swiping method mainly and it worked everywhere and was very intuitive. The new one is garbage. For a start it doesn't work on Google and YouTube and doesn't offer close matches if you got it slightly wrong. Often it won't get basic words and doesn't offer alternatives. It's horrid.
Can I roll back the update (please say yes).

So as far as I can make out. My first problem is the keyboard. When I used to type it would show alternatives in case a word was misspelled. This new one jumps straight to inaccurate predictions for what you type next, so if you've made an error you have to tap your way back to the misspelling. This is crap.
Also you get the full functionality of the keyboard on Facebook and forums and the url bar of the browser. But you don't get it on Google searches. So you start swiping and nothing happens. This is crap.
Could someone explain why you have different functionality of the keyboard on various sites, whereas it used to be one excellent keyboard for everything and also explain how this constitutes progress?
    Cheers.

  • How can I roll back from the latest update - hate it!

I can't get the quick WYSIWYG bar to show up. I want my old version back. How can I roll back?

I can't get the quick WYSIWYG bar to show up.
Not sure what that means.   Can't you switch to Live View or Design View ? See screenshot.
In Creative Cloud desktop app, select Filters & Versions > Previous Version.

    - it's all said in the title. I can't understand why the developers turn things bad ... risking loosing Apples valuable customers.
More examples needed? (check out the communities and the reviews)
    - OSX: Maverick to Yosemite = not recommended (check it out > http://roaringapps.com/apps)
    - iPad: older versions as iPad2 should not upgrade to iOS7/8 (it's not supporting its hardware accordingly, it's designed for the latest hardware)
    - iTunes (it's possible to rollback to 10.7 - 11.4, but you need to breech OSX system security framework)
    - Pages (was a real alternative for many of us, each update reduced features and created incompatibility to older work files)
The list could easily extend to ...

  • Victim of 1.2.2 upgrade??? can i roll back?

After upgrading to 1.2.2, my 5G 60G iPod cannot read its own directory beyond the second submenu. In Music, if I click Artists, it goes to All (instead of listing them), click that & it goes to All Albums, click that & it goes to All Songs, nothing else. (Does the iPod think it's empty?) iTunes on my G5 sees all music, playlists, etc. and plays normally. I have reset the iPod numerous times (see below), but am trying to avoid restoring.
    Anyone else see this?
Can I roll back to 1.2.1? Without restoring?
Other theory: the Hold button can produce some wacky software issues, similar to Sleep on G4s and G5s with audio programs. I had stored the iPod with the Hold button on before using it. (It seems I am always resetting family members' iPods after using Hold.)
    Thanks!

No, you can't roll back. But you can probably fix the issue you are having with iOS 6 with a little searching the forum and support articles.
