Can I run 34 bit Captivate on a 64 bit OS

I am experiencing RAM issues and want to upgrade to a 64 bit OS so I can upgrade my RAM above 4GB. I want to know if a 64 bit Captivate will run on a 64 bit OS.  If not, will there be any compatibiliy issues if I do upgrade to a 64 bit Captivate and editing my previous 34 bit captivate files.
Thnx

In other words, yes, there are 32bit and 64bit versions of Captivate.
The 64bit version will work on a 64bit OS (of course).
The 32bit version will also work on a 64bit OS, but I'm not sure why anyone would do that.
There's no difference in source files (that I'm aware of) between those created with either bit-version; a CP8 source file created with either version will open in either version. The 'bit' version only has to do with how the program itself interacts with the OS - no source file or published file concerns.
(I run 64bit CP8 on a Windows 7 and a Windows 8 machine, and often have those source files opened by colleagues on Win7 32bit machines with no issues).
HTH!

  • Can we run domain controller windows 2008 32 bit and additional domain controller on 2003 server

    im my environment we are trying to upgrade from server 2k3 to 2k8, out testing done on server 2k3 to 2k8, but can we run domain controller windows 2008 32 bit and additional domain controller on 2003 server ...kindly suggest

    Yes you can. If you have two 2003 AD servers currently and upgrade one of them to 2008 AD then they'll continue to be able to work together. The domains functional level will remain as 2003 across both servers so at this stage you won't get any benefit from
    the new AD functionality available in 2008.
    Once you've then upgraded the second 2003 server to 2008 you can then upgrade the functionality levels in AD to make it 2008. It's been a while, but I believe it doesn't happen automatically, so once all AD servers have been upgraded you have to go into
    AD and upgrade the functionality levels yourself.

  • Can not run VMwareplayer on OEL5.6 64-bit

    I have installed vm player3.1.3 successfully on OEL5.6 64-bit. But when I tried to run a vm virtual image, got this error message:
    Could not open /dev/vmmon:No such file or directory. Please make sure that the kernel module 'vmmon' is loaded.
    Then I run ./vmware-modconfig console install-all with root, but after all I got the result as
    Starting VMware services:
    VMware USB Arbitrator OK
    Virtual machine monitor FAILED
    Virtual machine communication interface OK
    VM communication interface socket family OK
    Blocking file system OK
    Virtual ethernet OK
    The Virtual machine monitor still can not be started up. The vmware image still can not be run up. Who can help me to resolve this? thanks!

    I am using 2.6.18-238.el5xen, and I tried on OEL5.3 64-bit, it still can not.
    But someone from other department can runVMplayer on the same kernel (OEL5.3 64bits). Is there any other config would be done?

  • Can I run lightroom 3 off a 32 bit windows xp?

    If so how???, im having problems with it being very slow, any help greatly appreciated

    IMO the specs of your PC are very much on the low side for LR3:
    your AMD Sempron 1.6GHz is a single-core CPU which AMD advertises as 'Affordable performance for everyday computing' - sorry but LR3 is not everyday computing. You would definitely benefit from a faster, multi-core CPU.
    2GB RAM - that's the minimum system requirement for LR3 (only for the application), add to that the RAM the OS uses and you will end up with at least 3GB. The OS will start to swap when it runs out of physical memory - and with your total 2GB of RAM that will start to happen quite soon when you use LR3.
    ..but I need it for my work,so what can I do????!!!!
    if you need LR3 professionaly then I'm sorry to say but you will need a faster PC...I would go for a 64-bit Windows 7-PC with dual- or quad-core CPU and 6GB RAM

  • Can't run Photoshop on win 7 64 bit - licensed creative cloud member

    Starting today I have been unable to run photoshop cs6 and can't find a work around.  I have logged into my creative cloud account and reviewed adobe forums for solutions.  Very, very frustrated with adobe licensing model.
    Message comes up indicating that I have "trial version" of software (I do not).  When I try to "license this version" I can only input a serial number - unable to input my creative cloud password.
    Right now I am uninstalling photoshop and I will try re-installing using the adobe application manager - which I can sign into using creative cloud membership.
    This sucks!

    Make sure to install the latest PS updates. There was a bug in the 13.1 update that got fixed in the immediately following 13.1.1 patch. Otehr than that going  back and reinstalling seems just as good...

  • How can I run Safari version 8 in 32 bit mode?

    I have a business application which requires Safari to run in 32 bit mode (Oracle E-Business).  Before the holiday I upgraded from version 7 (which worked fine) to version 8 (which no loner works).  I don't believe version 8 supports 32 bit mode.  Is there a way to 'downgrade' back to version 7?

    Thanks for you response.  Just to clarify, when I upgraded to Yosemite, Safari was upgraded to 8.0 with 64 bit mode only?  If this is the case, that helps me in my troubleshooting process with E-Business.

  • Can I run Firefox 7 in a 32-bits mode with Windows 7 64-bits?

    I use a lot of web based programs that will only work in a 32-bits enviroment.

    Current Firefox versions on the Windows platform are only available official as 32 bit versions, so that shouldn't be a problem.

    Whatever you read was incorrect. You can upgrade directly to Mavericks. It is in the App Store and is free.
    Snow Leopard predates the operating system you already have. That's the reason it will not install on your MacBook Air. You spent $20 needlessly for it, but it's yours to resell if you wish.

  • HT1846 The 2012 Mac Mini's are listed on this article. Can I run windows 7 64-bit on it and/or the 32-bit?

    The 2012 Mac Mini's are listed on this article. Can I run windows 7 64-bit on it and/or the 32-bit?

    I would buy nothing less than Windows 7 64-bit Pro.
    32-bit only addresses 3.5 GB RAM ... 2012 Macminis can hold 16 GB.
    64-bit Home addresses 16 GB RAM.
    64-bit Pro addresses 192 GB RAM and han an XP mode.
    This is all about having a good version of Windows for future use.  Yu can buy "Syem Builder" version of 64-bit Pro for $140.

  • Can I run 32 bit version of Oracle 10g grid  on Linux x86-64?

    Since Oracle did not release 64 bit version of Oracle 10g grid for Linux X86-64. Can I run 32 bit version of Oracle 10g grid on Linux x86-64? If so did anyone tried this? and also any known issues?

    All I had to do was use the 32bit version of "/usr/bin/gcc" and "/usr/bin/g++" to run the installation
    That is:
    bin]# cp -p /usr/bin/gcc /usr/bin/gcc_old
    bin]# mv /usr/bin/gcc /usr/bin/gcc323
    mv: overwrite `/usr/bin/gcc323'? y
    bin]# ln -s /usr/bin/gcc296 /usr/bin/gcc
    bin]# cp -p /usr/bin/g++ /usr/bin/g++_old
    bin]# mv /usr/bin/g++ /usr/bin/g++323
    mv: overwrite `/usr/bin/g++323'? y
    bin]# ln -s /usr/bin/g++296 /usr/bin/g++
    AFTER INSTALLATION REMEMBER TO
    move back the 64bit files to their former state.
    bin]#rm /usr/bin/g++
    bin]#rm /usr/bin/gcc
    bin]#mv /usr/bin/gcc_old /usr/bin/gcc
    bin]#mv /usr/bin/g++_old /usr/bin/g++

    Does that program require the Flash Player ActiveX Control, or the plugin?  If you only have the ActiveX Control (for Internet Explorer) installed, then you may also need the plugin (for other browsers).  Get it from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

  • If my Mini is running 64 bit can I run more than 4Gb RAM?

    I hear ALL over the place that the mini can not use more than 4Gb RAM.
    Is this a hardware limitaion of the motherboard/Processor?
    OR
    Is this due to the fact that mini's run at 32 bit?
    You can now easily run modern mini's at 64 bit:
    http://blog.leanopen.nl/2010/04/23/doesnt-your-mac-mini-want-to-boot-in-64-bit/
    So who knows the REAL answer?
    Thanks -
    skibum

    Most of the Minis are limited to less than 4GB and that is a hardware limitation. The newest Mini with the nVidia video can access more. Apple only supports 4GB because they use matched DIMMs, which on paper have a slight performance improvement over unmatched DIMMs. For whatever reason, Apple doesn't yet support 4GB DIMMs in the Mini. (I suspect that the power requirements or prices for the larger DIMMS may have affected Apple's decision.)
    If you do have an appropriate Mini, then you can get compatible 4GB DIMMs from [Macsales|http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/mac-mini> or others. Regardless, although I normally trust Macsales, more than 4GB is not supported by Apple, so you have to take that in to consideration. (i.e.: warranty from Apple or Applecare.)
