Can I run aperture on 2 machines,desktop iMac 27 and a Mac book pro on the same licence, and why is the app store not showing that I have a legal copy.
I think I bought the download direct from the Aperture site not the app store from memory about 3-4 years ago

You will want to up your RAM to the maximum. You can put two 2gb RAM sticks in your model 2,1 but it can only use 3,3gb. This is a hardware limitation and cannot be changed.

Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly. In summary in can access the db only from localhost BUT you CAN use ssh tunneling to access the remote fcsvr computer and get access to the db (in your case fcsvr_client).

Can't run app from another machine

Some time ago, I created a prototype using the Flex 2 Beta
tools, and it is working fine on the machine I built it on. When it
runs, it reads in some XML files. It runs fine if I run it directly
from my file system, or from the IIS server on my machine. But if I
move the files to another directory - on the same machine - I
cannot run the demo from the file system. I get errors on startup
saying "file:...blah.xml may not access Internet URL". Also, if I
move the files to a new machine I get the same problem.
This demo is being used internally to my organization to try
to foster the acceptance and potential adoption of Flex
technologies within the enterprise, and we have a big presentation
coming up and I need to get this to work on a laptop. What would be
causing these errors, and how can I fix it? Do I have to install
the Flex release version (which I will be doing pretty soon,
anyway) and recompile it? I just would like to understand the
problem, first.
P.S. I tried adding a crossdomain.xml file to allow access
from any domain, but that had no effect, and I'm not sure how that
even works when launching from the local file system.

Try adding -use-network=false to your compiler options. I
don't know if that will work but your symptoms sound
similar.

Is there any way I can run two Time Machines for one computer? I want to have one external Time Machine backup sitting on my desk, and another stored offsite for safe keeping, then swap them over every few days so that they are both generally up to date.

not across internet. you can back up across local network to a Time Capsule, a drive connected to Airport extreme base station or another mac running leopard, leopard server or a Xsan storage device. all other network backups are unsupported. and it's definitely not possible to do it over internet.

Are you referring to use the display of one with the other Mac or are you referring to use the hardware of both computers into one?
If you are referring to this first option, you have to use an application like ScreenRecycler, because only 27-inch iMacs and iMacs with Thunderbolt can be used as an external display officially.
If you are referring to my last option, you can't do it

In checking the requirements I am left a little confused. Apple states that a AGP or PCI Express graphics card is needed.
Is anyone on this forum running FCS with an Intel iMac like mine?
I want a Mac Pro in the future, but not ready for the leap just yet.

Yes,
Motion may well be slow since a very good graphics card and lots of RAM are required for best performance, FCP will be fine, you'll be limited by the lack of expandability options (i.e missing eSATA port, limited FW connections for external drives etc.) but if this machine is a starting point you are ready to start.

Can I run aperture on a clocked G4

Hi, I have a G4 Giga-ethernet with Dual Powerlogix 1.2 ghz Processors and 2 gigs of ram.
It also is fitted with a Radeon 9800mac pro graphics card.
I want to install Aperture but the System requirements state that I need 1.25 ghz or faster, is it possible to "overclock" the processors or will the Dual 1.2"s be sufficient?

Neither the installer nor aperture itself runs on a 1.2 GHz G4. It is not because the hardware is incapable of running the app but because Apple has build-in a hardware check into both and decided everything less than a G5 (or G4 PowerBook) is not suitable for Aperture.
Some brave hearts managed to change Aperture to run on G4s but I believe it is against the board rules to discuss this in more detail, so you are on your own to google for this information.

I have a point-of-sale form that I currently run over the web. I have a great need to be able to open a cash drawer at the end of the
sale. From the vendor I have a demo program (a Visual Basic executable) located on the local drive that I would like to run that will
open the cash drawer. I am not sure if this is doable, if it is how?
We are using Forms version 6.0.8.11.3 on Windows2000 against Oracle database 8.1.7.1.0 on Unix. We run our web forms from the
Unix box as well.
If anyone has any insight on how I could do this I would greatly appreciate it.

Unfortunately, to use iCloud a computer must run Lion 10.7.2 or greater. Here are the Lion requirements:

Can't run multiple instances on same page!

Since I got no response on the shadowbox forums after 2 weeks, I thought it's worth to post it here and hope someone can help me out.
Note: This is also related on non-joomla pages. I've tested it on plain html as well (by Dreamweaver) and get the same issue.

I've tried almost everything where I can think of, but no luck.
Searched many forums and googled a lot, but without success.
I got feeling that I'm so close and missing some simple solution.
So I'm stuck here, I'm not able to figure it out.
This is what I want to achieve:
My website is running on Joomla 1.5. And I'm using a Shadowbox extension.
In an article I've put multiple SWF movies, like previews acting like buttons.
So when clicking on a SWF button/movie, Shadowbox opens and plays a related FLV movie.
To achieve this part I've followed the instructions at this site under FAQ > first paragraph.
So far so good...
Now the ugly thing is when putting multiple swf buttons on a single page, after clicking a random button Shadowbox always displays the same flv movie. I did some altering with ID's and such but had no luck.
Even try to alter with the Shadowbox options and variables, flashVars and such (at this site under Options and Usage) but that worked out for me.
The strange thing is when placing the buttons, let's say in an article belonging to a section and category and make the articles paginated, after clicking the swf button the related flv plays. Browsing to the next page and clicking the button, the related flv will play also. This is the way it should be. Unfortunately it doesn't work when multiple buttons are displayed on the frontpage or an single article regardless whether they belong to sections and categories or not.
Even when a single code is placed in a single article and display 2 or more articles containg a different swf and a different related flv link only the last added flv plays with every random swf button/movie.

Sorry...I still don't get it. What is it about Windows FUS that keeps iTunes from running running the process twice? It can run many other non-Apple windows apps in multiple user sessions (commercial apps, open source apps, audio/video apps, networked apps). I can even run two different virtual machines at the same time under two different user sessions.
Why can iTunesHelper.exe run twice but iTunes.exe cannot? Why can I run Safari at the same time? Quicktime Player runs fine under multiple user sessions.
Blaming it on Windows and/or FUS sounds like FUD. Can anyone give a valid technical reason? Semaphores? Mutexes? An admission (and explanation) that the Windows version is purposely crippled?

If you are purchasing a new MBA it would be worth paying the extra $100 for 8 GB of RAM. If you are purchasing a used MBA then 4 GB of RAM meets or surpasses the minimum memory requirements listed above but should you start composing or editing more complex objects/scenes you would notice a difference.

Got new iMac, can no longer run Aperture on MacBook

I recently upgraded to Aperture 2. It was running fine on my Mac Book Pro. Then I got an iMac. I've been running Aperture on that, no problem. Now when I go to launch Aperture on my MacBook, it tells me to enter the serial #. I enter my upgrade #, and it asks for the original. I cannot find my original Aperture 1 package or serial #. What can I do?? Is there any way to get my original serial # and run Aperture on both of my machines?

Can I run 2 different domains with same name but on 2 different machines?

I am trying to setup 2 domains with same name (sharedcds1) on 2 different machines (Machine1 and Machine2).
          When I start the weblogic managed server 1 (sharedcds1managedserver1) on Machine2, it throws an error saying it has some conflicts with the managed server 1 running on Machine1. How did the managed server of one machine know about the other server. Can I run 2 different domains with same name but on 2 different machines?

Yes you can. Make sure that domains configured to use different multicast address. WLS uses multicast for communications between nodes in domain.
          although your configuration will work, you could have troubles if you going to execute inter-domain calls between domains/servers with the same names.
