Can I run RCU without uninstalling SOA Server?

Hi All,
I want to get one clarification.
I am getting some SOA infra database problem when I started the SOA server(it is telling some queues in SOA Infra database don't not exist and it(SOA INFRA DATABASE) is also having some database problems).
My question is :
In order to resolve the issue,Can I run RCU(drop the old schema and create new schema) in order to have  fresh SOA INFRA AND SOA MDS etc databases without uninstalling SOA Server?
(or) DO I need to uninstall SOA Server and then I have to run RCU and then again reinstall SOA component?
Plesew let me have clarification.

No you dont need to uninstall SOA.
If this is not critical or is not a production you can run the RCU directly and remember to drop schema first then create. Also if you already created the SOA domain so remember to give the same schema name as you gave previously.

  • Can I run logmnr without setting  SUPPLEMENTAL_LOG_DATA_MIN ??

Question is can I run logmnr without setting SUPPLEMENTAL_LOG_DATA_MIN ??
I had a situation where I had to run log miner to undo some changes. I ran the log miner on the database where SUPPLEMENTAL_LOG_DATA_MIN was not set nor the dictionary was specified. I ran the following and was able to get the undo. I am a little confused there, as Oracle doc stats that SUPPLEMENTAL_LOG_DATA_MIN should be set to YES, before you can mine the logs.
    These are the commands :
    -- set session
    ALTER SESSION SET nls_date_format='DD-MM-RRRR hh24:mi:ss';
-- start log minor, change datetime in the below SQL for the time frame
    BEGIN
    DBMS_LOGMNR.START_LOGMNR(
    STARTTIME => '17/07/2012 13:30:00' ,
    ENDTIME => '17/07/2012 14:30:00',
    OPTIONS => DBMS_LOGMNR.DICT_FROM_ONLINE_CATALOG +
    DBMS_LOGMNR.CONTINUOUS_MINE +
    DBMS_LOGMNR.COMMITTED_DATA_ONLY +
    DBMS_LOGMNR.PRINT_PRETTY_SQL);
    END;
-- change table_name to find out undo statements relating to that table
    SELECT sql_undo FROM v$logmnr_contents where table_name =upper('machines');
    --stop logminor
    exec dbms_logmnr.end_logmnr;
    Thanks

If supplemental logging is not enabled,It would be difficult to identify the user and session information details from V$LOGMNR_CONTENTS views

  • Run RetroArch without an X Server?

Hello All! Been messing with Linux distros for years now (~8, you name it, I ran it) and finally tried Arch. It's a fun learning experience, and almost like LFS.
Anyways I was just wondering if there was a way to install/compile RetroArch to run without an X Server? And have that automatically boot? Thanks for any tips.

ifrit05 wrote:Thanks for the replies. I just thought of something. Maybe I could install the very minimum Xorg stuff (xorg, xorg-xinit, xorg-twm, and video drivers) and just add RetroArch to the xinitrc file? I think that could work.
What you call 'the very minimum Xorg stuff' is basically the full stack :-)
    Yes, it should work.
If you want to run it in X, you can start X automatically https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Start_X_at_Login

  • Can Oracle Portal work without Oracle HTTP Server ?.

    Hi,
We are developing on Oracle Portal 10.1.4.
We are trying to use IPlanet Web Server instead of Oracle HTTP server. In such a case can Portal run with IPlanet Web server. alone ?.
Can we eliminate Oracle HTTP Server altogether ?.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Panai.

Third party HTTP Servers can be used with the OracleAS Proxy Plug-in. I have not done any tests with them however. The documentation states that it will enable you to integrate Sun ONE Web Server Enterprise Edition on UNIX and Windows systems, or the Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) on Windows systems.
Oracle Portal is tightly integrated with Oracle Web Cache. This might limit the usability of the OracleAS Proxy plugin.
More info is available in the documentation :

  • How can i run Pear on my Mac Server?

    Hello
i need urgent help to run Pear on my Mac Server. I am building up a local Enviroment for Magento and need Pear running.
Would be very happy if somebody can help me out.
    Many Thanks!

    Welcome to the forums.
First, please ensure you have a current and complete backup of your disks and your data. If you should make a mistake or if the installation should tip over and scribble on something, then that backup (or a reinstallation) is your best and easiest path back to an operational system.
As for your question around loading PEAR/PECL tools onto 10.6 Snow Leopard, Google finds [this|http://clickontyler.com/blog/2008/01/how-to-install-pear-in-mac-os-x-leop ard> and [this|http://stackoverflow.com/questions/628838/how-to-set-up-pear-on-mac-os-x- 10-5-leopard] and [this|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2602597&tstart=105], and one or more of these postings might get you going here.
(One other thing that's happened with Snow Leopard and Snow Leopard Server was the upgrade to php 5.3 and more recently to 5.3.3. Based on various postings, PEAR tends to toss deprecated errors because of this; php is newer than the code. This might have been fixed in a newer PEAR.)
The other piece you'll need to load is mcrypt. [Here is a recent thread on Magento and php and mcrypt|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2722257].
There are various related discussions of installing Magento on Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server over in the Magento forums, as well.

  • HT2703 Can i reinstall Bonjour without uninstalling/reinstalling itunes after accidental removal?

Can i reinstall Bonjour, after accidental removal, without uninstall/reinstalling itunes?

Uninstalling and then reinstalling your iTunes should also get your Bonjour reinstalled.
For the reinstall, use an installer downloaded from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
... or you could get it back via your Apple Software Update for Windows.
If you'd prefer not to uninstall iTunes, try the following procedure.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the Bonjour.msi (or Bonjour64.msi) to do a standalone Bonjour install.

  • Can i install bonjour without uninstalling itunes?

I accidentally uninstalled Bonjour because I wasn't aware of what it was. Is there anyway that I can reinstall Bonjour without uninstalling iTunes?

Yeah, the following procedure should do the trick:
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

  • Can you run CS5 without Java under Lion?

I know you need Java to install CS5 initially, but can apps in CS5 run without Java? Is it just features (AdobeConnect) that require Java, or will everythng grind to a halt without it?
With all the security holes in Java, is would be nice to uninstall it.

It sounds like it's necessary from this Adobe technote: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/known-issues-mac-os-10.html
"If the Java Runtime isn't installed, the following issues can occur in Adobe applications:
Features are missing or behave improperly
    The software doesn't start
Prompts to install Java Runtime occur
    Applications hang or quit"
Here is an article on current security issues with Java. The danger isn't in running applications that require Java. It's in allowing your web browser to have Java turned on:

  • Can I use RoboSource without buying RoboHelp Server?

I work for a University that has just purchased a new
database system (Advance for the Web) from SunGard Higher Ed. The
system came with on-line documentation written in RoboHelp that we
can edit to suit the needs of our institution. We could have edited
the individual HTML topics (about 1,300 of them total) without
RoboHelp, but instead we opted to purchase RoboHelp 7 in order to
have the entire pre-existing help project. I am the sole editor of
    this project.
I would like to be able to use the RoboSource application in
order to track changes that I make to the pre-existing help topics,
but when I tried to add version control to my project, it prompted
me to create a connection to a database. Our database lives on a
remote server that is password protected. I tried to make the
connection, but I received the following error message: "No
connection could be made because the target machine actively
refused it." The RoboSource on-line documentation describes how to
create a database, but I don't need a new database because ours
already exists... I just can't connect to it via the RoboSource
    application. That's my first problem.
The second problem: Even if there is a way to circumvent the
"remote server database issue" and create a "Help" database on my
local machine, I can't figure out how I would DO that. The
RoboSource on-line documentation says the following: "Unlike in
previous versions, creating a database for RoboSource Control 3.1
is not done within the RoboSource Control Explorer, but within a
stand-alone application - the RoboSource Server Configuration
Utility.” Does this mean that I need the RoboHelp Server, or
is there a RoboSource Server, too? Do I HAVE to have one (or both)
of these products in order to use version control?
Please help me. I'm not a technical person, but the people
who I work with who ARE technical people don't understand what I
    need to do, either.

    @ Gravenstein
    Thanks for your response.
    >>...We are using three clients and one server. We have
installed the server component together with the client component
on a local PC. That's why I don't know whether the server component
needs a licence key or not. But it should not have to.
I haven't described it correct. We are using 3 clients to
work with. One of these clients has also the server installed. So
the database is not on a server machine but on a local PC. Now we
want to get the database away from the local PC to a server
machine. That's why I wonder if the installation of RSC Server on a
server asks for a licence key?!?
    >>...This server doesn't need the robohelp environment
to edit topics, it only needs the server component. This should be
possible to install without asking for a licence key.
    >> That is correct. At least that's the way it works
    with RH6.
What do you mean with "that's the way it works with RH6"? How
about RH7? Does it work similar? I hope so, because we want to
upgrade and to move the database from the local PC to our server
    machine after the upgrade.
By the way, does it function to copy the old database from
the local (server) PC to the server machine and after changing the
clients settings to work with the new server they could use the old
database in the new folder of the server machine again? Or do we
have to write the projects from every client to the new server
machine manually to work with the version control after changing
the server? I'm asking this because I don't know what is stored in
the database. If the folder name of the database is stored in the
database, it doesn't work any longer if it is moved to another
    folder!?

  • Can you run Lion os and Lion Server os on the same Mac mini?

I'm a windows convert to Mac and I'm interested in running a standard Lion Client, but at the same time running Lion Server on the same Mac Mini (Server Edition).  My needs for the Lion Server OS is to handle e-mail, a Web Site, and file sharing between the server to a secondary PC, iPad, and iPhone.  But at the same time I wish to dive into the Mac (Apple) experience.  I just wish to be able to do this on the same machine.
As a secondary question, is it possible to merge two different iTune Accounts into one?  Is it possible to share items purchased on one iTunes account with an iPad that is tied to a different iTunes Account?

    1. Yes, but you'll need separate partitions for each OS, or run the client OS in emulation.
    2. It isn't possible to combine the accounts, but a single iTunes library can contain content from multiple iTunes Store accounts.

  • Can't run fmx without the pll

    HI All,
I have a form that has a pll attached to it, the problem is that i've to put the pll with the form, if i put the plx only the form doesn't open. How can i solve this problem as i can't put the pll at the customer side. I'm using oracle forms 6.0.8.11.3 and i didn't have this problem before

did you pick up the pll via the file dialog? As if you have done this, you are prompted if forms builder should remove the absolute path, but attaches the library with the .pll ending. so if you have a plx the form won't run as it requires the pll version.
so reattach your library just with the library name and without the file ending...

  • Running DNS without os x server

Understanding that the Apple GUI is very usefull, I am looking to create a lean, fast caching DNS server. This server would be used to resolve DNS only, no hosting of domains, just fast resolution. I have been able to scrape together on the internet some basic instructions showing how to setup a Linux or Unix DNS server, but I would like to have something more specific 10.4 workstation. It seems that the file locations are different in the Mac OS, and I expect other things are different??..
    Has anyone done this?
I am just trying to avoid spending an additional 500.00 just to run DNS, which is included in your standard workstation release. I have no problem with the command line, I just want a little feedback first.
    Thanks
    n/a Mac OS X (10.4.4)
      Mac OS X (10.4.4)

If you've got the instructions on setting this up on another Unix or Linux distribution then the rules are the same - they're all running BIND and the BIND rules don't change with each OS.
The only difference is in the default location of the files, but even that can be changed. All of them are likely to use /etc/named.conf as the main configuration file, and you can set options in there for any directory on disk for local zone files (the default is /var/named/). Setting up the recursion/caching options won't be any different.

You can find OEM docu here, even if not quite up to speed with how other docu libraries are organized: http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/oem.html
Read about post install in chapter 4, Getting started... of the OEM Grid Control Install and Basic Config guide. Starting and stopping, both on Unix and Windows is detailed in Adv. Config guide, chapter 2:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B12013_03/toc.htm
Note that "oracle 10g" is mostly a marketing label, and does not give away anything about what is actually installed (could be some product out of any of the suites; AS, DS, DB, OEM, ...).
