Can I safely delete previous Firefox updates once I've downloaded the latest update.?

I want to keep as much free space on my PC as possible and like to delete unnecessary programs.

Are referring to Firefox entries that you see in Add and Remove Programs?
If that is the case then you may only see orphaned leftover entries then were not removed by the updater, but the Firefox versions that they link to are not longer present and point to the current Firefox installation. In that case you will remove the current Firefox version if you uninstall any of those.

  • I have just tried to upgrade to the new software update and I can no longer access iTunes. I have uninstalled and downloaded the latest software but it will not install. Any help please?

I have just tried to update iTunes to the latest software and now I keep getting error messages. I have uninstalled and downloaded the latest version without any success. Any advice please?

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another install. Does it go through this time?

  • No home page when I click on the Firefox shortcut installed when I downloaded the latest firefox.

I got a new computer. With my old 512 mb ram HP, I had no trouble getting to my firefox homepage with bookmarks, etc. Now, when I click on the Firefox shortcut, all I get is some damn page telling me to download the new version of firefox. Which I already did!

  • Why won't Firefox install after I've downloaded the latest version? I can't get it to open. I have it on Mac with OSX system. It worked before the storm killed the power but now it won't open up at all, using the same methods I used before.

My power was shut off due to a storm. When I fired up my Mac, the Fox was nowhere to be found.

  • Firefox crashed after I download the latest version of adobe

Firefox totally crashed after I downloaded the latest version of Adobe. I ran a restore back to before the download and everything has been fine since. Has anyone else experienced this problem and, if so, do you know how I can download Adobe without this happening again?
    == This happened ==
    Just once or twice

First I recommend updating to [http://getfirefox.com Firefox 3.6.6] as it is the most current update to fix your problem. If the problem still persists, please give me the crash report ID. Press '''CTRL+ L''' to Go to the address bar then type '''about:crashes'''. Copy and paste the entire page here and I will be able to figure out your problem

  • Can you help me with problems from latest update of Safari and ITunes.  I can no longer delete cookies as I once did, because the security tab no longer displays the show cookies option. Can anyone please help?

I can no longer show or delete cookies from my MacBook Pro, since installing the latest update of Safari and Itunes..  Previously, I went to the security tab and clicked on the show cookies option, then opted to delete..  That option has now diappeared and a completely different security tab appears.  The tab does not show a cookies option anywhere.
Also, I can no longer see a list of my software applications without opening system profiler.
Sure would appreciate your help.  Thanks.

Safari's cookies is broken, either intentionally or it's a bug.
You can search the forums for
    safari cookies lion
and turn up plenty of threads.
If you need control over your browser cookies and other aspects of your web browser, I suggest you install Firefox.

  • Hotmail shows inbox but cannot open emails shown but can send email, it works on other browsers and I did the latest update on firefox

Firefox brings up my Hotmail web page and shows emails but I cannot open them or delete them. I can send emails however. Other browsers like Opera and Chrome work the Hotmail fine. I have downloaded the latest Firefox update as late as today!
This is a new problem and it worked fine for years. I have Windows 7 operating system on my desktop.

This problem has been ongoing for months for some users.
I managed to fix my issue by completely uninstalling FF and then reinstalling the newest version which is 6.0-something.
I was previously running on 3.0 and my automatic updates had not told me there was a newer version.
I don't know if that will fix everybody's problem though. I assume a lot of people were already running on FF 6 when they had their problems.

  • Which files can I safely delete in my Pictures Folder/ iPhoto Library

    Hello
Thanks in advance for any advice on the following. I am trying to free up some space on my Macbook Pro hard drive. In the Pictures/ iPhoto Library folder, I seem to have a lot of duplicates. At this folder level, I have series of sub folders with years 2002-2006 listed, and there is also a folder titled data, which also has subfolders 2002-2006. Can I safely delete one set of folders without losing my pictures?
    Thank you
    Jonathan

    Johnathan:
In a word, NONE. Those are all necessary item for the operation of the library. Those files in the Originals folder are obviously the originals. Those in the Data folder are the thumbnails iPhoto uses to display in the main library window. The Modified files are those that you've editied, rotated, etc. To do any moving, renaming or editing of files directly from the folder is tantamount to committing the cardinal sin of iPhoto: Don't tamper with files in the iPhoto Library folder from the Finder.
What with the low cost of external FW HDs, they are a very cost effective way to protect and preserve important files. As you may know it's recommended to have a minimum of 10G free space for optimum performance of the system and applications. More if possible. You can use Monolingual to remove any language module you don't need (be sure not to select English or American English and DO NOT run any of the Architecture items). I saved nearly 900MB the first time I ran it.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

I just downloaded the latest version of firefox (5.0). Can I delete all the older versions that are still on my drive?
When I call up some web sites sometimes the web site comes up 3 or 4 times...how do I stop this from happening? For example if I click on a link the exact same link comes up 3 or 4 times and I have to manually delete all of them but one.

Do you organise your email into separate folders, or do you just let it accumulate in the Inbox?
I would strongly advise you not to let it sit in the Inbox.
When you see this happening, try right-click on the affected folder, select '''Properties''' then '''Repair Folder'''.
Large folders (actually, a folder in Thunderbird is stored as a file, so it is sensitive to file size limits set by the underlying file system) can be problematic. This is one reason not to let messages collect in one folder. I use Thunderbird's Archive folders so that accumulated mails over several years can happily coexist because they are effectively stored in many small folders. No single mail store folder then exceeds the 2GB or 4GB sizes that have been known to stress the OS. I appreciate that current builds of Thunderbird and a modern 64-bit OS should be able to cope, but practically I find it slows down when given huge files, so I err towards a pragmatic solution; a large number of not very big files.
Archives are searchable, and a Saved Search folder can give you a virtual composite folder allowing access to the entire Archive.

heidie22, dj_paige has a very good point there. I would not through away the NEF files; I would archive them to a external drive.
By the way, I am assuming that converting RAW files to DNG is a decision you have made and not an accident.

  • Previously Firefox would show a number at the end of the file name (renaming the file by adding a number) showing that I had already downloaded a file at least once before. Recently that isn't happening. How do I get that feature back?
