Can I safely KILL FF4 and re-install FF3.6.16 on Mac OSX10.6.7 without losing all I had?
Have Mac OSX 10.6.7. Update frequently. No probs. FF 3.6.x was fine. Updates fine. Update notification for 3.6.16 the other day -- OK, updated. Fine. Still good. Was encouraged to try FF4. Downloaded dmg file and installed into DIFFERENT Mac app. directory that I called "Firefox 4", so I APPEARS to be installed in two places: 3.6.16 under "Firefox" and 4 under "Firefox 4". I HATE IT FF4 !!!!!!! I resumed using 3.6.16 and found FF4 had just taken it over!!!!!! THIS IS BIG BROTHER!!!!!!!!
I used this forum to find the dmg download for FF3.6.16. Have not installed it yet. What I'm using SAYS it's 3.6.16, but it's really FF4!!!!!!
Is it safe, as one person suggested, to just trash what I have (both), then re-install FF from the 3.6.16 dmg, and all my history, bookmarks, passwords, etc., will really have been saved by Mac OSX 10.6.7? Or am I safer just replacing what I have with my external HD back-up? Any expert info greatly appreciated. FF4 is the WORST!!!!!!!! It competes with IE for badness! Help!
You can apply the 10.6.7 combo update without any other consideration. Obviously you should have a good backup.
The normal 10.6.7 update won't apply because it need a base system of 10.6.6.

I've had my Iphone4 since 2011 but the current operating system is still 4.2.1. I'd gone quite a while between buying things on itunes directly to my phone and synching it to my pc. When I eventually synched it, it told me that I needed to upgrade to a newer version of Itunes. When I try and click on it to get new version my pc will not do anything. The only thing I can think of doing is to uninstall the old itunes and re-install the current one but i'm guessing i will lose all my purchases. Is this the only way to go about this, any help would be gratefully appreciated - thanks mark (chunky74)
uninstalling iTunes and it's additional components does absolutely nothing to the music/apps/etc that you have downloaded or purchased.
before uninstalling iTunes, try going to the itunes website, download the install file there and manually install it.
If you do have to uninstall iTunes, please make sure you're following this article to make sure that you're uninstalling all of the components correctly and in the right order. Uninstalling iTunes, but not doing it the 'right' way is essentially a waste of time -
I have upgraded Safari in my Mac, but the new Safari does not work with my system. So I find myself without any working browser. How can I solve this problem and/or install my previous Safari version?
Reinstall Safari 5.1.10 for OS X 10.6.8: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1569. Might do the trick.
But, frankly, I don't think that simply reinstalling the old Safari will work because of all the peripheral, under the hood changes that happen when you upgrade from one version of Safari to another. Reinstalling 5.1.10 may be insufficient to turn back the clock. (This is the moment where a Time Machine or another form of full backup would save your bacon.)
While you're getting a copy of Safari 5.1.10, get a copy of Firefox (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/desktop/), too, so that you have an alternate browser to use as you're sorting matters. -

Thank YouTo my knowledge the only way to get OEPE (11g) you need to use the WLS +OEPE. But this OEPE can connect to a different server, e.g. test / prod.
In most instances dev will be a shared instance. The developers instance of WLS will be just to do some basic PoC testing etc.

My own opinion is that you should install the later appropriate version of Silverkeeper. That said, I would in fact recommend if you can wait a few days for an answer, that you email the La Cie Silverkeeper backup team via the email link on the site at http://www.lacie.com/silverkeeper/
They are careful to say they are not officially providing a backup service, but when I emailed them with a query regarding usage about a year ago after downloading Silverkeeper for myself, I got a reply within a couple of days that cleared up my question. -

You are talking about the menu bar of Itunes, right?
Yes. With iTunes open the menu bar is at the top of your screen.

After you authorize the computer connect your iPhone then follow the instructions here > iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer
When you are done transferring the data to the desktop, right or control click the iPhone under Devices left side of the iTunes window then click Back Up.
That way you will have a backup just in case you need to restore your iPhone. -

You need to use the old ID and password to delete the iCloud account. After you delete the old account, you can sign in with the new ID in iCloud.

Reorganize files in "itunes media" greyed out
