Can i save a movie created in imovie to a usb?

I have made a movie in imovie with photos and now want to save it to a usb or even disk..... preferably usb because i can put that in the tv.  I have tried turing it into a quicktime file and putting that on a usb but it wont work once it is in my tv ..... please help!

Are you using an Apple TV?
Or does your TV have a non-Apple media player? (brand, model, etc?)
Do you know what are the specs for it? (the media types it can play)

  • Can't save two movies joined together?

    Hello,
Today I was posting a question on the Apple forums and went into Edit and copy since I wanted to ask the same question on another forum and then went and pasted it in on a forum board.
Now everytime I go into iMovie 08 and try and join the two movies together I get an error saying I can't save the movie as a public atom was found in there. So I open movie two and go to Edit Select All, then Edit Copy, then I open first movie and hit Edit Paste and when I do this I see my question I had asked about on the forum show up on the top of the Quicktime movie box. I've tried shutting down and restarting but can't save my movie.
    Any ideas?
    S.

    Winston Churchill,
Thanks, to my knowledge I just had Firefox open and was had hit copy and paste and then I could join the two movies together in Quicktime Pro. It drove me nuts and still want to know why it didn't work. I ended up converting them both to .avi format and then was able to join them. Will try again tomorrow to see if it will work the other way.

  • How can I save a website created on iweb, but that I no longer have it saved in my computer, so I can open it in my new computer and republish it ......

How can I save a website created on iweb, but that I no longer have it saved in my computer, so I can open it in my new computer  with iweb
and republish it on another server, since mobile me would be gone on jun 2012.

You need the Domain.sites2 file that's located in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder in order to be able to manage and publish the site from another computer?
Do you have that file? If you do copy it to the same folder on the other computer and you're ready to go.
If not then you'll have to recreate the site from scratch.  Chapter 2.3 on the iWeb FAQ.org site has tips on using some of the existing files, image, audio, video, etc., from the published site in the recreation of the site. 1

How to Remove “Other” Data from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
    http://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-remove-other-data-from-iphone/
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

Hi does anyone know what programme I can use to create DVD of a movie that I have created on iMovie?  There is no iDVD on my mac.  Is Burn any good? And if so, can I get it for free?
    Thanks.

There is no iDVD on my mac.
There is NO alternative.   But iDVD is very easy to get.
iDVD is on the iLife 11 DISK.  Buy here:

    Is Burn any good?
iDVD is vastly superior, especially for movies.

  • How can I save and recover projects in iMovie 09?

I created a (slide show) project for the first time in iMovie 09, sent it to iTunes and then closed iMovie. The instructions said it should have automatically saved my work, but hwhen I opened iMovie again, the project was empty. When I go to the Finder and then Movies, then iMovies, then click on the project and do Get Info, it says it is 78 MB and that it was modified at the date and time I modified. If I right click and choose Show Package Contents, there is a folder there is  quick time file with  with the slides I used and a folder with the mv4 file. but the iMovie file is still blank.
Why did iMovie not save the project? And is there some way to recover the project?
    Many thanks for any help.

I don't think you can import a FCP X project to iMovie, but if I am wrong I guess someone will correct me.

  • Can I Save My Movie in a Format that iDVD Doesn't Need to Re-Compress

I am looking to output 3 videos from AfterEffects (or some other app) and I want to save them in a format that iDVD won't compress or convert. In other words, I am hoping I can choose a format that allows iDVD to pretty much just grab my three videos and bundle them all up into single DVD (letting iDVD create menus so the individual videos can be selected through my DVD player). I just don't want iDVD to have to do any transcoding which could degrade the quality.
Or, should I save my movies with absolutely no compression (as in a "None" setting) and let iDVD have its way with them? I just don't want to run my video through 2 codecs.
I am in the U.S. so I need NTSC format. The disc will be standard def, no need for HD or anamorphic widescreen.
I am not finding the answer I need on Google or here, but I am sure it exists out there somewhere! Mostly, I have only found outdated FAQs and iDVDs very simplistic directions. Thank you for your time.

One can import mpeg 2 content into the pro apps / DVDSP /FCS 2 usually without any issues.
However, this is Not the case with iDvd'08.
To quote Sascha Segan of PC magazine:
Pros: Creates beautiful DVDs. Many themes and button styles.
Cons: No support for high-def content; no support for MPEG2 or DivX files.
Bottom Line: iDVD is an effortlessly easy, yet surprisingly, flexible way to create good-looking, standard-def video and photo DVDs.

  • Can't save internet .mov files

I just recently upgraded to Quicktime Pro for Windows specifically so I could save several .mov files posted on a website as part of a proposal I have to give. Unfortunately, I've tried saving the movies as both source and as Quicktime Movie, and neither actually saves. I have the option to save when I click the down arrow after the movies have loaded, and my PC acts as though it's saving the files when I attempt to save, but then nothing actually shows up in the file destination I've selected. I've tried several times and have nothing to show for it - anyone have any ideas?

Sorry I can't help, I have the same problem. I installed Quicktime Pro, registered, and everything looked ok. Until I tried to save, save as, or export. I can't create any output at all. I edited a .mov file then tried to do a "save as". It appeared to go ok, but no file was created. When I try to do an export, I do get an error message "Error -43: a file could not be found". It never mentions WHICH file could not be found (I suspect the one I was trying to create)! I de-installed and re-installed with no luck. I thought Apple software was supposed to work?!

  • How can I play a video created in iMovie 06 on AppleTV?

I have a video project that I created in iMovie 06. How can I play this on AppleTV?

Thanks for your assistance. Unfortunately I'm still not able to get this to work.
First, I don't see an export to Quicktime in AppleTV format setting. The only choices that I have are export to Quicktime in Full, CD, email or streaming video format.
I tried both full and CD but I still cannot get it to my AppleTV. Once the video is in Quicktime format I drag and drop the file into my iTunes library. It shows up in the movies directory on Itunes but when I sync Itunes with Apple TV - nothing. Everything else syncs but just not the quicktime movie.
    Any ideas?

  • Can't see iPhoto movies from the iMovie Event Browser

Has anyone figured this out yet? In iMovie (iLife 09), clicking on "iPhoto Videos" in the event browser gives me the "No matching video" message. All my video clips in iPhoto are .avi files from digital cameras.
The iMovie documentation says that it may not see movie file formats unless they are compatible, and does not list avi as a compatible format.
Can anyone please confirm that iMovie does or does not "see" avi clips from iPhoto? Do I need to convert all the avi clips to .mov files to get iMovie to see them properly?

I spend a few hours on the phone with apple today. I worked my way up to an expert who was a wizard. A few things: 1) he knew about the work-around (turning off the sound in your slideshows), however it does not seem to work for everybody. 2) I had the same problem as reported on this original post, but my problem worsened and iMovie was unable to completely start up. I wont explain all the details here, but there is a known limitation with the conduit between iPhoto and iMovie 09: if you have a great number of movie files in iPhoto, when you try to pull these movies up in iMovie from the Event Library, there is a major bottle neck. iMovie tries to source these files via iPhoto and if you have too many movies in iPhoto (I had 1,595) or the individual movie files are very large, iMovie will stall, unexpectedly quit, or as in my case, completely fail to start. The remedy: export all your movie out of iPhoto to a folder on your desktop and then import them directly into iMovie. (as stated a few other times above). Yes, this is a limitation, however, it's actually faster and you will be less likely to have a issue of a broken video link in the future. Good Luck.

  • Why can't i import .mov files into imovie

Everytime recently I've tried to import a .mov file into imovie, its come up with the optimizing video box but nothing happens, I used to import straight from the camera, but I've recently emptied my camera onto my hard drive after a trip to New Zealand and now, when I have tried to import the footage from my hard drive, it does the optimizing video freeze on me. I would like to be able to get these movies into Imovie without having to pay a rediculous amount of money for some little converting program. I originally bought a apple computer, because I thought everything worked with each other, but now, I'm not so sure about that anymore.
Also, I've tried MPEG streamclip and all that did was either freeze on me or make the video size smaller, as in, the sides were pushed in and it ruined the video.

What codec are the files? .mov is a container that can house many different video codecs.
    Is your camera supported?
