Can I save custom crop values?

Is it possible to save custom crops to ACR 2.1.1.9 ?
I have a client who needs event images cropped to 1056px x 594px to use in Intranet presentations displayed on large monitors in their hallways.
I use 10.56 x 5.94 in the custom crop in ACR to do this. But whenever I crop an image to another size (ones that might go in their newsletter) I lose the custom setting and have to re-enter again and again to 10.56 x 5.94.
I typically process a few hundred 'candidates' from their events (2-3 per month) and the image dimensions never change. Is there a way to add this custom crop value to the choices in the pull-down list?

That seems a good suggestion for the future request.
Meantime I believe you can only do this in PSCS using the tool presets

Let me guess: Your printer asked you to do this, right? Your printer is living in the 1990s and is probably trying to place this in a QuarkXPress file. And I'll suggest you should run, not walk, to find another more modern printer!
But, if you have to do it, you could export as a PDF file (including the marks, bleeds and slug). Then in Acrobat, choose File > Export (Acrobat 9 Pro) or File > Save as > Other Formats > Encapsulated PostScript (Acrobat X Pro).

Can't save custom templates in DVDSP 4

I cannot seem to create and save custom templates. When I try, I get a variety of error messages, such as "no audio asset" or "cannot connect to blah blah asset" or I get no message at all--it just doesn't save. To confirm, there is no new template in the Custom tab, nor is there any new file in the appropriate folder under App Support.
This happens whether I create from scratch or alter an Apple template as a test.
I am the only user of this computer and log on as an administrator, although I gather this was only an issue with previous versions anyway.
I have a couple of older menu templates that I created and saved from the previous version of DVD Studio Pro before upgrading to 4, so I know I've done it before. These templates show up in the Custom Tab in DVDSP4 as well as in the folder for templates under my user hierarchy.
I suppose a workaround would be to save a menu as a Project template and just open that for each new project, "saving as" or not saving changes at all to preserve the "template," but I'd rather the software work as it should. I intend to build several Menu templates for use in recurring projects with different departments at my place of work.
Any suggestions?

This might have something to do with user profiles. I have now created a brand new standard user. No admin privileges. Logged on as this Test user, I am able to create new templates, modify existing ones, etc., and all of them are saved properly. The new templates show up under the Custom tab, as well as in the templates folder under user Test's application support folder.
For some reason, I just can't get DVDSP 4 to behave when I'm logged in as my Admin account.
To recap...when I try to modify an existing Apple template and save it, I get the following error message "Can't Create Template. No audio asset found."
This happens the first time I try to save, and if I try again (whether or not I make a change) the program gives me no message at all--just doesn't save it.
Arrggghhhh.

Can I save custom export settings in QuickTime Pro?

I'm using QuickTime Pro a lot to export/convert many different projects, but every time I need to change the export settings, because there is no way to save them inside QuickTime

But the problem is that it needs to run also Apple script to actually perform the export, and I don't want it - I'm not a scripter, and I need the settings to be easy to load.
I thoigh there is some prefs folder, where QT actually stores those default presets, where I can put some custom ones, but I didn't find such a folder...
Is there any way to do it?

QuickTime can only view WMP (Windows Media Player) files with third party software help:

To use Pro to export these files to QuickTime formats you'll need to pay for the upgrades at Flip4Mac.
Not all WMP files are supported.

Save custom fields value in EKKO through ME21N

Hello Friends,
putting a new inputfield in the header of ME21N - PO transaction must be inserted within existing tabstrib "Additional Data".
This the new requirement.
I have used the enhancement "MM06E005". I have only implemented and activated the USEREXIT without writing
any code in any Function Module.
Additionally I have added through the screen painter (Function Pool MEGUI) into screen 1229 the customer
ZFIELD (Textinputfield).
I can see this field in the transaction ME21N, ME22N, ME23N but if I enter any value and save it. This Field has only 0000000 in the EKKO instaed of the entered value by me.
In the other transaction like ME21 ME22 ME23 this problem is not existing. I can save the enterd date without any problem.
I have already implemented the structure CI_EKKODB too. There is the zcustom field added.
I need your help for in how to save the data in EKKO with me21n.

Dont use User Exit for this . Use the BADI's .If uses the USer Exit it will create u some probs at later stage.
There are 2 BADI's available for this.
1) ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST.
2) ME_GUI_PO_CUST.
1) ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST.This BADI is for Validating the PO at various Level. Methods for this BADI is
1.Open.
2.Initialize.
3.Process Header.
4.Process Item.
5.Check.
6.Post.
Etc.
So u can Validate the Entire PO ..
2. ME_GUI_PO_CUST.
Adding the Customer Own Screen to Enjoy Purchase Order.
The Process is that Just Create a Function Group with the Screen with Screen Which u want to Add to the Header Level.
Through this BADI u can add N Number of Screen to PO.
In the First Method of this BADI just Add the Screen. For Better Understanding goto the Sample Coding of Both BADI's.

How do I print on a greeting card in landscape when I can't save custom paper size?

I have a J6450 running on XP SP3 with the latest drivers and patches installed. I have greeting card stock measuring 6.5 by 10.0 inches and a Microsoft Word document with a custom paper size matching the that stock prints in landscape mode. The printer error is "Paper Mistmatch. Paper size or type is incorrect." I have followed the suggestions on the HP support page, changing the Print, Properties, Features options to show "Other greeting card", but can't define a custom paper size to match the stock. The Save option is not available. What do I need to do to make this work?

Can't Save Custom Columns in Effects Tab?

Jerry Hoffman and D. Gilmore describe how to right-click on a column in the Browser (other than the Name column) and then choose the Save Column Layout option, which is exactly what I'm wanting to do. Weird thing though is when I try to do this for the custom column layout I've created under my Browser's Effects tab, that "Save Column Layout..." option is greyed out, along with most of the others as well.
Under the Project tab, I can Save and Load column layouts to my heart's content, but under the Effects tab, the only options which AREN'T greyed out when I right-click on a column heading (any column heading) are Hide Column (at the top) and Show Thumbnail (at the bottom). The other five in between (including Save Column Layout) are inaccessible.
Am using 6.0.2 with OS X 10.5.2. Any theories?
Bonus Question:
Is there any way to make a custom column layout in the Browser be part of a custom window arrangement, so that when I select one of my custom window arrangements FCP will load my preferred Browser column layout at the same time?

Thanks to both Jerry and Doug for that confirmation -- albeit not the one I was hoping for!
And though it may come as a surprise, I did indeed create a custom layout of the Effects tab columns: with my Browser window over on a separate monitor, I like to have the Name column set wider (so the full names of all my Nattress FX are visible), then the Description column first (also set wider so I can actually see what the description says), and then my own Comments column immediately following that.
Despite the limited number of info columns in that Effects tab, it does seem odd that they would implement a Save Column Layout option in other Browser tabs, while then displaying it but not actually implementing it in this one tab.
So along with making custom column layouts part of custom window arrangements, I guess it's time I sent in yet another Feature Request to the friendly folks at FCP Feedback.
In any case, thanks again for the confirmation that at least my system wasn't doing something weird.

I can't save a data value of 1E-5 obtained from a numeric control.

Could please somebody help me. I am saving data (using a USB 6009) from numeric controls in a CSV file. However I realized that very small data values e.g 1e-5 can't be written in the file. Why and how can I overcome the problem?

you should use a proper format string!
Default is "%.3f" which only allows 3 digits precision. Use something like "%.6g" - other format codes can be found in the context help...

PE 4.0 can you save custom layer styles?

How do you create your own layer styles and make them available in the layer styles palette? Is there a way to do it with Elements?
For example, if you have your bevels, your shadows, your inner & outer glows, all set up just the way you want them, and you'd like to re-use them in the future in other compositions, then it would be useful to be able to save your layer style.

Using Photoshop it is possible to create and save your own layer styles but this isn't possible in Elements ... what you could do is save the layer in a file of its own then drag and drop it into your new image and do
Layer>Layer Style>Copy Layer Style
Layer>Layer Style>Paste Layer Style
Then discard the old layer ..
Long way round but it sort of works ... well providing the sizes, resolutions etc are similar...

Is there a way to save custom crop ratios?

I like to use a 16x9 ratio for slideshows. It's not that hard to set up, but being able to add that ratio to the preset list would be a timesaver.

PSE normally remembers the last custom ratio and resolution you entered. Is it not sticking?

Saving a Custom Crop

I'm working on a large web project that calls for all of my images to be cropped to a custom dimension. Is there any way to save this custom crop so that I don't have to keep re-entering the dimensions every time? Thanks.

i think the short answer is No.
i want this feature too, have requested it long ago for Ap2 and yet it still hasn't made Ap3!
haven't found any way yet to save custom crops (eg 6x7, 16x10) as crop presets so they can be used again and again
the only work around i have so far is to use a blank image, create multiple versions, each with a different crop aspect ratio and then lift and stamp - but really its often quicker just to type the ratio for the first image and then lift and stamp for the rest in the series
oh great Apple, if you are up there listening, please add this functionality... along with giving me my gridlines back when i use the Straighten brick in the Adjustments HUD....

How to get Safari to save my cropping in full screen mode?

In Lion, you can put Safari in Full Screen mode and crop the edges. You can set differents crops for different tabs within Safari, but when you restart safari the crops are reset. How can you save the crops for the tabs?

What exactly do you mean by "customized field values"?
Some transactions will show changes to fields in their change history, some will allow you to flag changes to critical fields, others you may need to activate table logging (and accept the consequences) - without knowing a lot more, it's hard to make a call

Can't save any custom workspaces AE CS6? (recently upgraded to OSX 10.9 rMBP)

Hello -
since transferring my CS6 across to my new laptop running 10.9 -
I can't save any custom workspaces... it's driving me crazy having to move everything around every time i restart AE.
- I arrange the workspace and save it as a custom name - this appears in the menu.
*However* - upon restart of AE - this custom name is no longer there, and the workspace is once again, an old workspace I had, with windows everywhere.
- I can reset STANDARD workspace - but even then - when I change to another workspace, then change back to STANDARD again, it reverts to the older, messsy version of standard workspace i had...
so there's some issue with saving for me....
- I checked 'get info' to see that my workspace related preferences in the library folder had read/write access and even changed that to everyone has access...
After doing this, I got this error below, when resetting STANDARD workspace, saving project, then switching to another workspace - and then switchng back to STANDARD...
it still brought up the messy workspace version, not my newer reset version, and gave this message:
"After Effectswarning: Error parsing properties list from file ".......Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/11.0/ModifiedWorkspaces/UserWorkspace11.xml"
(I"ve also repaired permissions with Disk Utility ( there were a lot needing repair, but none were explicitly adobe, and didn't solve problem on laptop reboot )
I've been trying to find a solution online, without success so far...
Any advice greatly appreciated...
(And I wonder what this problem might have wider ramifications for my version of AE? )

I'm having this same problem and yet, I did not migrate my software from one computer to another.
I downloaded AE CC 2014 off of Adobe's installer.
I can't get my workspace to be remembered at all. I can make different workspaces, naming each one. But when AE restarts they are all gone.
Any one else with this problem?
