Can I save from the "pages" app to the "Dropbox" app, and will it save the footnotes if I save in word format in Dropbox?

I would like to know, is I can save files from pages (and other typing apps), to Dropbox, and still keep the footnotes if I save it in word format. I want to be able to open it on my PC, and have a normal word document with all the corrections from the iPad.

I think you can only mirror from devices that runs iOS.

I have had to format my PC running windows 7, and reset my ipad 1 to factory settings, i then installed latest itunes on the PC authorised the PC and re downloaded several movies via itunes previous purchases, all was well until i tried to sync the ipad to the PC, only some of the movies synced onto the ipad, otheres stalled the sync stating itunes could not copy "name of movie" to the ipad because the file could not be written. I have to pull the plug on the ipad just to get itunes to unfreeze, but it still will not sync these movies. and one help

I was having the same issue with music and movies but it had been ok before. The sync would freeze on a random file and then i had to take out the USB cable to clear it. After trying all sorts of things i saw someone mentioning about Anti virus and firewalls. I am using McAfee so i disabled it as a test. After this i could sync music and movies without issue!!!!! So in my case the firewall/anti virus was causing a problem. McAfee updates itself a lot so I am guessing something has happened in a recent update that impacted iTunes.I am not sure if this kind of thing is also causing your problem but it sounds very familiar.

What is the current schedule for 6.1.2 and will it fix the Exchange transaction log issue in 6.1?

Just spent the entire night with virtually no sleep with our firm's group of IT engineers trying to keep our Exchange system online due to massive transaction log growth. Confirmed the issue related to 6.1 calendar bug with Activesync. The workarounds are not practical for large groups of users who depend on their mobile devices for work. Our users have no way of knowing that they are causing an issue so the Apple guidance isnt terribly useful to communicate to 1000 users. When can we expect a resolution? The problem is only going to get worse as more and more users hit the bug. Does anyone know if the issue will resolve as soon as someone installs the 6.1.2 update, assuming that has the fix. Im not trying to bash anyone but this is a very serious problem in enterprise deployments.

The update was released some time today. 6.1.2 appears to specifically fix the Exchange issue causing excess comms and logging issues. However, although the update is available i do not see the notification badge on the Settings icon. Is this controlled by Apple or is there a user setting i am missing somewhere? I would prefer that all users see the badge to expedite user action.

App Store updates are frozen and will not complete the installation.

That's an indication that you have apps installed that were purchased with a different ID. Either sign in with the credentials used to purchase them so you can update them, or delete them and re-download them using your ID.

Hey guys, Heres one for you tech guys. It was a false alarm on my password issue. Somehow or another i was going to discuss this issue with this or some other forum. Now ,i aint no hi-tech redneck but i aint stupid either, maybe a little dumb ,but hey. I got to the point where i had to sign in for this disscusion and i thought,CRAP, I cant sign in,i dont know my password. Mind You, I have been dealin with this for a couple of hours and i thought well, 1 more time, it might as well have been 52 times but, it went thru. Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.

How do I set up an Apple TC with a Verizon FIOS wireless modem model MI424wr F. Does the wifi have to be turned off in the modem and then bridge it to the TC? Will FIOS tv be effected?

Your first call should be to Verizon support to ask them if you turn off the wireless on the Actiontec router....will it affect any of the features/functions of the FIOS system?
If yes, then it would be best to leave the Actiontec router "as is" and connect the Time Capsule using Ethernet in Bridge Mode as a back up device only (wireless is turned off on the Time Capsule).
If you want to use the dual band (and likely much faster) wireless capability of the Time Capsule, then you should turn off the wireless on the Actiontec device to help prevent wireless interference effects that will likely occur when two wireless routers are in close proximity to each other.
Again, the Time Capsule would be connected to the Actiontec router using an Ethernet connection from one of the LAN <-> ports on the Actiontec router to the WAN port (circle icon) on the Time Capsule. Configure the Time Capsule in Bridge Mode as well in this type of configuration.
Bottom line....what Verizon says will pretty much dictate how you can set up the TIme Capsule.

The first thing you should do after acquiring a used computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. How you do that depends on the model. Look it up on this page to see what version was originally installed.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard installation disc, which you can get from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the gray installation discs that came with it. If you don't have the discs, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, it should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
Once booted from the disc or in Internet Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive, which is what you should do.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
You should then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. If you want to upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, buy it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.

The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard. The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion. The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion.
To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.
The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.

Once you are at 10.6.8 Lion is still available from Apple. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775. to purchase it. Then within 3 days you will get an email with a code which you can use to download Lion from the App Store. The price is still $29. You must have at least a model 2,1 MacBook.
Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.

Also Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors in 2006 they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

Starting on a new computer now. I cant get my music to transfer from the itunes folder on the old computer? I keep getting error "Can't Read from the source file or disk." Whenever I got to folder properties its always checked read only. But when i play the song it works just fine. Im sure this is just because I added music into itunes folder but is there anyway to fix it?

WMA files are 'window media audio' files, which is a Microsoft format. If you want to add them to your iTunes library on your Mac then you will need to convert them into a compatible format first. Have them install Quicktime on their PC's from Apple's website, that's the easiest fix.
