Current Firefox versions require a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.6.
Firefox 16 is the last version that runs on Intel Mac OS X 10.5.
You would have to update to OS X 10.6 to be able to use current Firefox releases.

  • Since updating I can't click on horizontally placed links, buttons etc have uninstalled and reinstalled still doing it. Cant even see how to get an older version that did work and have run a virus check. explorer works

Firefox was automatically updated to 7 and now all the websites I go on the horizontal active things you would click on will not do anything. eg in ebay I can't access "My ebay" and in facebook can't click on my profile or messages, in Flickr I can't click on "Your Photostream" which means I can't use it. I tried explorer and all these work so it has to be firefox. I uninstalled and reinstalled and ran a complete system virus check on top of the active ongoing one and nothing no change. I am at a loss what to do now. A relative suggested downloading an older version that worked but I can't even see how to do that. I would appreciate help so I could use firefox as in the meantime I am stuck with exporer which I hate. Thanks

  • I've downloaded the latest version of Firefox a number of times, yet when I install it websites keep insisting that I have the older version.

  • I hate version 4 and need step by step instructions on how to go back to the older version. Firefox * me.

I hate V4 the should have informed us before we downloaded it that we would need to relearn using it. I'll make one attempt to go back to the version I liked and if that does not work, I'll use something else. *!

I have used Firefox for many many years....this is the first time I am now actively testing other browsers and will probably go with chrome. Why in the F would you absolutely reverse things like the right click menus and flip other things around? Yea, I know companies like FB will make changes just to keep some poor coder employed, but I'm really pretty unhappy with the new layout. I've been with FF since 2006, but I think we're going to have to part ways.

  • I need to install Mozella Firefox 2.0 to fill out a form that is not supported with the newer version that is installed on my PC. Do I need to delete the new version before using the older version?

I need to install Mozella Firefox 2.0 to fill out a form that is not supported to input info from the newer version that is installed on my PC. Do I need to delete the newer version before using the older version? If so, how do I delete the new version and install the older version?

If you just need it for one site you can use the portable version of Firefox 2 instead. You can install the portable version on a USB key, or if one is not available choose the custom install and install it somewhere on your hard drive. The portable version will not interfere with your current version of Firefox. You can get the portable version from http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable - the link for Firefox 2.0.0.20 is near the bottom of that page.

  • I have a password manager built into my fingerprint scanner. It worked on the older version of Firefox but it will not on this new version. It will not recognize log in pages and will not load information.

With the old version, all I had to do was go to the log in page to any of my email accounts or membership sites and scan my finger. It would fill in the fields and open my account. I like this new version of Firefox, but if I am not able to use that password manager then I will have to install the older version.

A 2008 black MacBook can run OS X Lion (OS X 10.7). However, if you want to use that Mac for apps that do not work with the new MacBook, I recommend you to leave it with Mac OS X 10.6.8, because OS X Lion removes compatibility with PowerPC apps.
Do not worry about the battery of the new MacBook Pro. You can replace it yourself or take it to an Apple Store or reseller, and the cost is similar. However, it's important to take the Mac to an Apple Store or reseller if your Mac's battery fails while the Mac is in warranty, because you will get the battery replaced for free.

  • I have upgraded to newer version of labview, and the older versions of LavVIEW are now piling up. Can I uninstall the older versions? if yes how?

Do I have to keep all the old versions of LabVIEW as I did not uninstall the older versions, but only downloaded the latest version of labview from the website and installed it. A new version and icon is installed on my PC now. What can I do?

You asked "Do I have to keep all the old versions...". Of course not. You can do whatever you want. Each version of LabVIEW installs in its own directory, which is what allows you to keep multiple versions installed in case you need to support programs written in earlier version that cannot be upgraded yet for whatever reason. Conflicts may arise if you install older versions later than new ones and you install the libraries for the hardware interfaces like VISA and such. Older versions of these libraries sometimes cause problems with newer versions of LabVIEW.
If you do not want multiple versions, common practice is to completely uninstall the current version before installing the new one. If you have more than two versions but only want the latest, simply uninstall the older ones from the main NI installer. Depending on how old the versions are that you are uninstalling something with the new one may break so you may need to repair that installation. You may just want to simply uninstall all NI software and then just do a clean install of the latest version. That will likely be your best course of action.

  • How can I access Address Book data from an older version of the application to transfer it to a newer version of Mac OS running on a second hard drive on the same MDD G4?

I installed a hard drive from one PowerPC Dual 1.25 GHz MDD into another one with an older version of the OS X.  all my Address Book data are on the older hard drive, from which I now boot the computer.  When I launch Address Book as an app on the hard drive with the newer version of the OS, I get an error message that says I cannot run the version of Address Book from the older hard drive on the newer OS.  How can I access the data on the older hard drive version of the Address Book app so that I can transfer it to the newer version of the app on the boot drive?  The "Import" functionality will not work. I will be grateful for any help I can get.  I would also like to uninstall the older version of OS X from the older hard drive.

Boot from the older version of OSX, then in AB use the File>Export>Export vCard after selecting all in AB.
Then boot from the new OSx & use the new AB to import that VCF file.

  • How can I save my current Firefox customization to install on a new Windows 7 installation

This is not asking for a problem fix.
How can I save my current Firefox 3.6 customization, toolbar set-up, plug-ins, add-ons, etc. to a file or files so I can install it, pre-customized, after I do a re-format and clean install of a new Windows 7 operating system?
I am currently in Windows Vista.
I'm just trying to make it so I don't have to re-customize everything I already have done by doing a fresh installation of Firefox.
Or can I just save the existing Mozilla Firefox program folder and then drag and drop it into the new programs folder in Windows 7?
    Thanks,
    numetro

A couple of links that can help with this, [[Backing up your information]] and [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup Profile backup - MozillaZine Knowledge Base]. The second one includes a link to a free utility that can make this easier.
Just saving the progams folder will not work, the user data is stored elsewhere.

I just downloaded the latest version of firefox (5.0). Can I delete all the older versions that are still on my drive?
When I call up some web sites sometimes the web site comes up 3 or 4 times...how do I stop this from happening? For example if I click on a link the exact same link comes up 3 or 4 times and I have to manually delete all of them but one.

Do you organise your email into separate folders, or do you just let it accumulate in the Inbox?
I would strongly advise you not to let it sit in the Inbox.
When you see this happening, try right-click on the affected folder, select '''Properties''' then '''Repair Folder'''.
Large folders (actually, a folder in Thunderbird is stored as a file, so it is sensitive to file size limits set by the underlying file system) can be problematic. This is one reason not to let messages collect in one folder. I use Thunderbird's Archive folders so that accumulated mails over several years can happily coexist because they are effectively stored in many small folders. No single mail store folder then exceeds the 2GB or 4GB sizes that have been known to stress the OS. I appreciate that current builds of Thunderbird and a modern 64-bit OS should be able to cope, but practically I find it slows down when given huge files, so I err towards a pragmatic solution; a large number of not very big files.
Archives are searchable, and a Saved Search folder can give you a virtual composite folder allowing access to the entire Archive.
