Can I save my still frames in iPhoto or similar

Hello ...
I have taken a number of still frames from my video event and made a picture project ...
However when I export it .. it ends up as a video file ...
Is there a way of saving single pictures into iPhoto or whatever ... so that I can use these single pictures in say Word?

In iMovie 6 you can create stills. Select the clip then Edit/Create Still Frame.

A still frame from an Event:
Put cursor at the frame you want, then right click (or command click) and select "Add Still Frame to Project".
The still frame will be added at the end of the Project.
A still frame from a Project:
Put cursor at the frame you want then right-click (or control-click) and select "Add Freeze Frame". The Freeze frame will be added after the clip.
In both cases:
Select the still frame (so the yellow band is around it).
Right-click (or control-click) and select "Reveal in Finder".
You will see a JPG file highlighted in the finder.
Drag this file and drop it on your iPhoto icon in the Dock.

You have two options:
1. Set PSE as your external editor for iphoto and send the photos from iphoto. Save (not Save As) without changing the name or format and iPhoto will remember the original + the last edited version. (To get back to the original you will have to lose the edits, though.)
2. Export the photos from iphoto, work on the copies, make all the changes you want to name and format and then reimport the edited versions to iphoto as new files. This lets you save as many different versions as you like.

I am able to click on a picture in iPhoto to edit it opens automatically in photoshop cs6. However when i am done editing I can not save that image back into iPhoto. Can anyone help with a setting I am missing maybe?

Thanks Terence. What a relief. I still don't understand what the book I read was talking about then. Here's a quote from the section I was referring to in "iPhoto 08: The Missing Manual" book, p 91 (ISBN: 0596-516185):
"Note, however, that the instant you edit a TIFF-format photo (Chapter 7), iPhoto converts it into JPEG.
That's fine if you plan to order prints or a photo book (Chapter 11) from iPhoto, since JPEG files are required for those purposes. But if you took that once-in-a-lifetime, priceless shot as a TIFF file, don't do any editing in iPhoto-don't even rotate it- if you hope to maintain its perfect, pristine quality."
After my test results, I thought maybe this was something that had changed from iPhoto 08 to iPhoto 09, so I went to the bookstore yesterday and checked the same book for iPhoto 09, and there it was, the same quote! (on a different page, of course).

This is what I found in the support but I don't have the option, "Save PDF to iPhoto," in my PDF pop-up menu from Pages or from printing a PDF file;
You can save your document as an iPhoto album. Each album image displays one page. You can then transfer your document’s images to any iPhone or iPod that can display images. For example, you could display a Keynote or PowerPoint presentation and use a song from your iPod as background music. Any transitions or animations in your presentation will not appear.
To save a document to iPhoto:
Open the document and choose File > Print.
Choose “Save PDF to iPhoto” from the PDF pop-up menu.

That is my proposition. I got iPartion and iDefrag lite when I was about to upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard. The application has served me well. Read this page first http://www.coriolis-systems.com/iPartition-faq.php
But you could spare yourself and just do the work manually with the document.
1. Export or Print to PDF
2. Open the pdf in Preview and Save as JPEG
3. In iPhoto Import the document
A little more work but you'll get the document wher you want it!

Can't save it on your iPhone! But you can forward that email to your home computer and then save the pic and then put the pic in whatever picture folder you sync to iTunes and get the picture on your iPhone that way!

i have over 1000 clips and I need a still frame of each clip.
Is there a way like a droplet in Compressor?
I am using Compressor 3.5.
If not in compressor, any other oprion? I need to retain the original filename as well.

Can no longer add still frame

In iMovie 09 I previously was able to select a movie clip and make a photo of it to put into the movie. Af first, it allowed me to do so by right clicking and selecting Add Still Frame to Project. Then, it recently switched to holding Control and clicking to bring up that option. I did that just yesterday! Now that option no longer appears. Why take this away? Does anyone know how to do this now?

In the Event, it is still called Add Still Frame to Project and it adds it the end.
In the Project, it is now called Add Freeze Frame, and it adds at the end of the current clip. This is useful if you have a clip that you want to freeze on the last frame and apply a Ken Burns Effect to extent the shot.

Can't save photo attachments directly to iPhoto

In mail.app 6.2 You can no longer save a photo attachment directly to iPhoto even though that is an option under the Save menu. Is there some setting or prefernce that needs to be set?

I too have this problem. It doesn't seem to make a difference whenter I have iPhoto open or closed when I go about trying to add photos.
the button doesn't seem to do anything at all.

How were the images sent: as part of a Rich Text email, or plain text email, with an attachment? Either way, for each image, you should see a Save button, which will display an Add to iPhoto option when you click and hold.
