Can I save the email from thunderbird to my hard drive?

I learned recently that I could not pull my email from my web host. I have stuff going back 5 years and want to archive off the older stuff. Can I pull that email (also in this account) to archive on my hard drive?
Dennis

Mail stored in Thunderbird's Local Folders account is on your local storage, i.e. your hard disk or whatever storage is available to you.
I don't understand what you're asking about "pulling" email. Why can you not get old stuff from your webhost?
And when you say Archive, are you interested in removing stuff from inside Thunderbird, or off your hard disk? Archive is a somewhat vague word and can be understood to mean several different things.

I require to design the Procedure which will pull the data from various tables and needs to store the data in the Client's local directory.

Since SQL*PLUS runs on the client, you can use SQL*PLUS to spool data to your local drive.
You could also use the database to write a a specified drive where all users have access to (mapped network drive, e.g.). I wouldn't recommend doing it that way, but it is sometimes useful when the files are created in some nightly batch run.

How can I save my document from pages to a flash drive?

Locate the file on your Mac, plug in the USB stick (the mac should prompt you to open it, or do this automatically), click and drag the file from the computer (wherever it's saved to) to the USB folder. That's just putting an already saved file there.
To save it TO your USB stick, find it in the Save To diolog on the sidebar. Click it, then save it there.

A FAT32 drive can't store files which are 4GB or larger. You need to reformat or repartition the drive to include an exFAT, NTFS, or Mac OS Extended volume, or use a different drive, or use a way other than an external drive to transfer it.

On imac 10.6.8 using current version of Aperture.  How can I access the Aperture Library  on my external hard drive that I use with time machine for backup?  I can only access the application but not the library..

Go into Time Machine (the program not the bundle on the extrnal disk) and using Time Machine's browser go to the Folder where the library lives. You could look in the library bundle in Time Machine but that won't really tell you much,
If you want to make sure it truely has backed up your library you will need to restore it and open the restored library with Aperture.
If all this still has you confused you need to read up on Time Machine in order to get a feel for how it works, for what it is doing and for how to restore files from it.

  • I have to save emails from outlook to my hard drive. When I go to open the email on the HD the attachment is not an attachment anymore. It needs to be. Help?

My office uses outlook for emails, calendaring, etc. We save as all emails to a specific client related file for easy access and to reduce the items saved in outlook.
Many of the emails have attachments. I use Firefox (love it) as my browser so when I save as an email it saves it with the Firefox Icon instead of the Outlook Envelope Icon. When I open the email from my computer (not outlook) the attachment name is there but it is not accessible. I have to go to the email in outlook and save the attachment(s) separately in order to access them. I don't want to do that. It takes up to much time and often the attachments are related to the data within the email and they need to be together in their original form.
If I use Internet Explorer (which I hate) as my browser this does not happen. Can you help me? I really don't want to use IE.
    Thank you.

I might be able to experiment with this a little.
Are you running a recent version of Outlook Web App (i.e., Exchange 2010)?
When you save files using IE, what format are they in (e.g., EML, RTF, HTML)?

  • Can I batch-archive emails and attachments to my hard drive? ...in a format other than .eml...which is stupid...

My current email system no longer allows me to click on a bunch of emails - and their attachments, then 'print' them to pdf on my hard drive.
My business must save emails for at least 10 years.
Someone suggested Mozilla's email, Thunderbird, but I'm not gonna switch until I know that I can batch-archive.
    Thoughts?

    Hi!
Thunderbird is capable of batch-archiving; you can select all the emails/folders/mailboxes that you wish to archive and then click "Archive". They will all be archived in their appropriate folders to your computer. There are Thunderbird add-ons available that will give you even better control over your archiving options.
If you'd rather print them all to PDFs, you would need to have a PDF creator installed on your computer first. You would then select all the emails you wanted to print and then select your PDF creator as the printer at print time.
If you are looking for a new e-mail client, Thunderbird is an excellent option. :) You can download it [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird here].

  • How can I save an idvd disk image to secondary hard drive?

I'm trying to tshoot a burning issue with my 1st imovie/idvd project (some old home movies). I've found the hints to try the 'save disk image' option, but when I choose that option I get a 'multiplexer preparation error; not enough free space'. I know my primary drive doesn't have enough room but my secondary one does. Problem is idvd seems to default to the primary and I haven't found an option to choose to save to the secondary. Probably something simple, but I'm not finding it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

You need to move enough 'things' from your start-up hard drive to your external hard drive to free up 10 to 20 GB if you want iDVD to work. Your start-up drive is where everything happens and you can't change that.

  • I've just finished building a new website with iWeb, I want to build a new site, how can I save the details from the first site?

    Hi There.
I've been building a new website with iWeb. Its now complete, but I will need to keep all the detasils involved as I make amendments from time to time. Now I want to start a new site on a completely different subject. But every time I go to start the new site, it just seems to be 'papering' over the details of the old one. How can I begin a completely new site without overwriting the details of the previous site, and where do I save the original site details to for easy access.
    Thanks,

There are several sw applications for the PC you can use to get the audio from the video file.
You can use an encoder like www.imtoo.com 3gp encoder.
You could use SUPER (freeware video encoder)
Lastly if you have an audio recorder app in your pc you could just play the video and record the audio in your recorder application.
There are just many ways to do this.

  • How can i save the data from ALV grid to my database tables?

    Hi all,
Suppose in a grid i want to edit some fields and after editing the data i want to store the refresh data to my database tables. How can i do that? what is procedure? Please tell me in details.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Abhijit.

    Hi,
If you are doing it with oops concept then here are the steps for that.
    1) Declare DATA : er_data_changed TYPE REF TO cl_alv_changed_data_protocol,
           data_changed TYPE REF TO cl_alv_changed_data_protocol.
--For getting the row no of of the row which is edited by user
DATA : ls_mod_cell TYPE table of lvc_s_modi with header line,
    lv_value TYPE lvc_value .
    in your program
    2) Define a class
    CLASS notification DEFINITION.
      PUBLIC SECTION.
        CLASS-METHODS : handle_data_changed FOR EVENT data_changed OF cl_gui_alv_grid IMPORTING er_data_changed.
    ENDCLASS.                    "NOTIFICATION DEFINITION
    3) For that class write the implementation
    CLASS notification IMPLEMENTATION.
      METHOD handle_data_changed.
        PERFORM handle_data_changed USING er_data_changed.
      ENDMETHOD.                    "handle_data_changed
    ENDCLASS.                    "NOTIFICATION IMPLEMENTATION
    4) In the  PERFORM handle_data_changed  you code like this
FORM handle_data_changed  USING er_data_changed type ref TO
    cl_alv_changed_data_protocol.
    SORT er_data_changed->mt_mod_cells BY row_id .
    LOOP AT er_data_changed->mt_mod_cells
    INTO ls_mod_cell .
    append ls_mod_cell.
    ENDLOOP.
*LS_MOD_CELL will have all the rows which were edited
and all the updated data corresponding to those rows*
You can now use the the data which is in LS_MOD_CELL
to update into your DB Table.
    LOOP at ls_mod_cell.
      READ TABLE itab3 INTO t_output INDEX ls_mod_cell-row_id.
    ENDLOOP.
    ENDFORM.                    " handle_data_changed

Did you make a backup of your system before you replaced the operating system?

  • Where can I find the files using up my external hard drive?

I have a 1TB iMac and have two external hard drives attached to keep the computer free of hard drive use for two reasons: Disk 1-is a 250GB hard drive I have dedicated to perform Time Machine backups of my home folder. Disk 2-is a smaller 120GB hard drive I keep my compete iTunes library of music in case the computer has a malfunction, so all the work I've done putting the library together will be secure. Here's the thing...the iMac's hard drive is hardly used, just as I want containing about 150GB total.  Meanwhile, the Time Machine disk is nearly full with  225GB used, and just 25GB remainibg. The hard drive with the iTunes files looks pretty good too using about 70GB of it's 120GB.  I believe Time Machine is in no way, backups the iTunes library just the iMac.
How can I figure out where the additional space is getting used up on that disk?  I do have a couple of extra logins I use for alternate use such as a different iPhoto library I want kept seperate from mine, but I did not think the backup was saving those files as they are not even under the Time Machine setup.
Can anyone advise why the backup is larger than the use of the computer?  I knew when I dedicated a smaller hard drive to back up a larger one that it was possible the backup drive would get too full, but I can figure out what's happening. I've erased the Time Machine disk and allowed it do a completlely new backup and again, it's always sigificantly larger.
    Thanks!

Okay...I have some more information and perhaps we are getting closer.  On the 250GB, first I went into that disk and used Disk Utilty to re-format it once using Mac OS Extended (Journaled) then a second time, zeroing it out. I did a screen shot to review if needed, and both times it looked perfect...249GB available.  Then I went into the Time Machine preferences to get ready to backup again, and it had not excluded the other external 120GB with iTunes so I excluded it. I may has previously, never noticed in that screen that it takes a bit of time for it to calculate the information to save.  I may have just clicked on it quickly without reviewing it first.  Today I did, and gave it time to calculate.  At one point the actual 250GB itself, showed up and I excluded it too like the 120GB.  After it finished, the calculations are still it wrong - claiming it has a 200GB backup when the iMac either contains 150GB (based on when I do Get Info) on it or from OmniDisk which calculated about 100GB.  I have not allowed Time Machine to do a backup yet, until this discrepancy can be clear.
One thing that I thought I had seen or reviewed previous on the Time Machine settings was my home folder - I could be wrong but wanted to mention that.  Another little tidbit to ponder an well is that I have a files of icons that I use for the Hard Disks, and a few folders where I Get Info on the Icon and on the destination and just cut and paste.  I did that today to the 250GB after zeroing, but while I was in the Time Machine settings the change was deleted and neither the manufactures icon was there nor mine, and it has the default blue-green one the software uses.  I know, because my sister's is that way on her system-unchanged.
