Can I save video emails in my photo library?

I cannot figure this out I've asked other people and they don't know either.

Did you make sure that you have everything setup to enable photos to be saved in the privacy settings?
Settings>Privacy>Photos. I can't remember what happened when I first updated to iOS 6, but I know that I had to allow photos in a bunch of apps however, I thought that it would work automatically in the Photos App.
Anything in Settings>General>Restrictions>Privacy>Photos that is not letting you save photos or videos?
Can you save photos to the camera roll?
Do you have Location Services turned on in the settings? Settings>Privacy>Location Services>On.

Yes there is, if you hold down the attachment widget in the email once the video is downloaded, it will give you a series of options to save it to, including camera roll.

How do I save photos from email to the photo library? I've seen an online demo of users that hold their finger or thumb over the image for a few seconds and a "save photo" window option appears. That doesn't work on my 6-month old iphone. It's version 1.1.4 (4a102) ???? Help! Anybody with an answer?

Never mind. I figured out the 2.0 update. My system wasn't updating I-tunes...and the I-phone update option window was hidden behind some other system information. I figured it out. The download, install and re-synch took about an hour. Lots of horror stories out there about people trying to activate their new I-phones. Glad this worked for me!

OK, but is it happening to you with all messages or just some messages? If just some, can you characterize which ones? (Maybe messages with only one "alternative*" form, or with the "wrong" alternative for displayed, or messages containng images but no text?)
* By "alternative" form, I mean in the sense of Mail > View > Message > Previous Alternative or Next Alternative or Plain Text Alternaive or Best Alternative.)

The captions are indeed in iPhoto replacing the scan number under the photo.
I see, you want to save the name of the image version - both Aperture and iPhoto allow you to create multiple edited versions of the same original image file and in iPhoto you are seeing the name of the image version belbow the thumbnail of the image, if you change the title n the Info panel.
But they are not saved with the photos when burned to disc,apparently (correct me if I am werong).
I don't know, which iPhoto version you are currently using. When you export photos (in iPhoto '11) or image versions (in Aperture 3) as files to a folder on the disk, you can use the version name/Title as the filename. Both applications let you chose, how the exported file will be called. In iPhoto use the following settings, when exporting your images, to use the title as the filename:
Select the images in the Browser.
Use "File > Export"
Set the "Kind" to "Original" or "Current", depending on if you want to export the original or the edited version,
And then pick a format for the filename. To use the title/verson name as the filname instead of the scan number, set "File Name" to "Use Title".

Now, if for some reason that does not work - I looked at your model's specs and it looks as though it also records to SD/SDHC cards? So does my Canon camera; iMovie does not like the direct import on mine, but I simply use a USB card reader and plug that in. The icon shows up immediately and I can drag the footag into whatever app I want to use; if the format is not readable, simply use MPEG Streamclip (free) to convert it to a format iMovie will recognize.

Ok... This is not exactly a solution, but:
These videos are being saved on your phone (otherwise you wouldn't be able to see them at all). So they're there, so to speak.
The reason videos can not be copied is not something I'm going to speculate about (it'd be pure speculation at this point, trust me). But I can tell you that these videos are being saved in a way that differs from "normal" videos in two ways:
Firstly, videos you send via MMS are of reduced quality to respect file size limits imposed on all MMS messages (stands around 3Mb if I remember correctly). When you choose a video from your library and send it, it is down-sampled and converted on the fly. The other reason for this is because iPhone is supposed to be interoperable with other phones that support video. Unfortunately most handsets around can not keep up with iPhone's original quality...
The second part regards the actual storage method. MMS videos are being saved in ~/Library/SMS/Parts folder (sorted into various sub-folders according to the messages to which they belong) alongside with a preview and a few other things. As such, these videos are being synched back to your computer when you back-up your iPhone and in theory can be extracted (although I'm not sure this is "supported" by Apple).

You can't.
Copy the photo on your desktop machine to your photo library. Sync the photo library to your iPhone. That way you will have it on the iPhone in the photo library.
