Can i scan an id card to print?

I want to know if i can put an id card on the flat bed and scan it to print.  i mean print onto a letter sized paper. can i do this?  recently i scaned a card to email . it came in the form of a file.. i had to open the file then print it.  is there an easier way?

Hi,
You can use copy function of your printer to copy (like a photocopy machine). Please put your id card face down and touch copy from the printer. Touch settings will allow you to change few options such as increase/decrease, darker/lighter, colors of black ...
Regards.

can't scan a document in my printer and have it come up in the adobe acrobat reader like it did before my last update...can anyopne suggest a solution...have been on hold with adobe for 46 minutes.

    Hi lostinma,
Are you scanning and then saving to PDF with your scanning software? What happens when you try to open the PDF in Reader? Do you get an error message?
Reader doesn't allow you to create PDFs, so you wouldn't be able to scan directly into Reader.

  • How can I scan a photo from the printer and place it in i photo?

How can I scan a photograph from the printer and place it in i photo?

Scan the document as you normally would.
Click Save and look for a format or option to allow you to save as a JPEG file. (The normal format is probably set to PDF)
Seve to your desktop location or to a scanned items folder if you normally scan to that desitnation
Drag the JPEG file onto the iPhoto icon on the dock and release the mouse key
Once you have imported the image into iPhoto, you can delete the file on your desktop or in the scanned items folder if you prefer

  • Can't scan from Imac to HP printer???

I'm running an Imac with 10.5.6 and wi-fi to my HP 'All-In-One' printer. Everything works great except I can't scan. Some time ago HP support told me to connect to the HP with an ethernet cable when scanning and that worked, but no longer. Spent 3 hrs on the phone with a senior HP tech, new downloads, etc, but no go. Also tried hooking up to HP with an USB cable, didn't work either. He suggested might have a problem with my Mac 'tween files' and speak to Apple. Spent two hrs with them on the phone trying everything. No go. Any ideas?

My friend had the same exact problem. The HP all-in-one printer he had wouldn't work properly when trying to connect via wifi.
He was on the phone with HP and got the run around. Eventually he found that the only way to really use the HP all-in-one was to connect to USB.
Oh and that problem of failure after wifi to USB, he had to delete and readd the printer to the mac again.
Sorry if this is not the best answer but it is all too familar.

In the meantime, if you're using a Windows computer can I have you click here to download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool. • Can I use an Airport Card and print to printer attached by ethernet?

I have an airport card on my G5, and want to print to an HP 4600 dn via ethernet plugged in directly. When I asked for DHCP connection, I get an IP address not consistent with 192.168.X.X protcol.
Can my G5 distribute an IP address to the printer? Can I share the printer this way too?

A 168. IP address is a default used when no IP is actually assigned. I use a hardware router to which my printer is connected. The printer has been configured with a fixed IP address, the network's Gateway IP address and network mask. The IP address for the printer is within the range of IP addresses assigned by the router's DHCP server and set in the mid-part of that range which is not used by any other devices. Network preferences is configured to use DHCP. Has worked well for me that way. I have two networked printers connected to the router via separate switched hubs.

  • HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M177fw can't scan or copy

I can not scan or copy. The printer is just showing a message on the display of "calibrating" I have not had any paper jams or changed any toners. I tried a hard reset to see if that would resolve the issue but it did not. I have the printer connected wirelessly. I have only had the unit for 2 weeks.

    Hey @2stressed,
Unfortunately, the 'calibrating' error state that you have on your printer is a hardware issue. Therefore, any software troubleshooting (such as uninstalling and reinstalling) will have no impact on this issue.
At this time we have exhausted the support options available over the forums. I would strongly recommend that you contact our Technical Support queue by phone to explore hardware replacement options.

    Hi Everybody,
I use an Epson Stylus Office BX320FW printer with my IMac.  Since upgrading OSX, I have lost the ability to print and scan.  I have downloaded printer drivers from both Epson and Apple.  I am using the printer in wifi mode but can not get it print or scan.  How do I uninstall the Epson software and start all over again?

Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!
    Thanks for the advice, Bee
    Cheers, Gerd

  • After the new 10.9.2 Maverick upgrade, my Photosmart C4480 3 in 1 printer can not scan and save the file to desktop or documents.  You can only see the image in the print preview area. Does anyone know how to fix this or when a fix will be out?

After Aple support downloaded the new 10.9.2 Maverick upgrade on my MacBook Air, my Photosmart C4480 3 in 1 printer can not scan a document and load the file on to my desktop or document file. (You can see the doc image in the preview but it doesn't save it.) Does anyone know an Apple fix for this or when the fix will be out?  After hours of trying reloading, and the usual fixes, etc. Apple told me to call HP, and HP told me they don't support Mac.  It does not seem honorable of Apple to put out an upgrade and not tell people it will destroy their scanning ability, and that the only thing to do is to buy another printer/scanner.

Have you tried using Applications/Image Capture to scan.
    Vuescan often works.

  • HP8500A all-in-one can no longer scan thru wireless network but prints fine.

HP8500A all-in-one can no longer scan thru wireless network but prints fine. Have used this device several times over past 2 years on different wireless networks (at home) but usually at some point I lose wireless scan function but maintain wireless Printing.  I used to be able to reload the software and resolve the issue but now in this "new network" cannot get wireless scanning to work.   Setup software; original software (CD) and current download as well as "Print/Scan Dr"  hangs-up at "network check"  for hours.  Compaq laptop, Dell Laptop, Cell phones and Roku work fine thru network.  Scanner works fine with USB to Laptops.

    Which model Epsons are they?
I'm assuming you're using Yosemite (OS X 10.10), and that the problem developed when you upgraded from a previous OS.
    (Your profile says 10.6.7 BTW).
Maybe the scanning function is not compatible with Yosemite.
You could try a few things:
    reset your wifi system:
power down everything: modem, router, computer, printer/scanners.
    wait a minute.
power them all up again, in that order: modem, router, computer, printers. Let each power up completely before going on to the next.
try a factor reset on your printer/scanner (if there is such a function). You'll have to check your manual for how. If you do that you'll have to enter the wifi password in your printer/scanner, assuming you have security on your network.
uninstall any printer manufacturer "utilities" that are on your Mac, and try Image Capture again.
If it is a compatible software issue, you could try VueScan, but I've never needed to use it.

  • Can't scan from Lexmark multifunction printer - firewall issue?

    Hi there!
I got a Lexmark printer/scanner combo which used to work fine on my arch install. However, its mobo died, so now I'm back at another install which refuses to scan. Scanning is done through the browser via a java applet residing on the printer's webserver. The applet does start (so it's not a java issue), but refuses to receive data from the scanner. Within the printer's web interface, it reads
If using Windows XP, the Windows XP personal firewall must be disabled before using Scan to PC profiles.
, so I'm assuming it might be a firewall issue. Lexmark's website provides the following advice:
The following two command lines will open the port 5353 for incoming and outgoing connections:
    iptables -I INPUT -p udp -m udp --sport 5353 -j ACCEPT
    iptables -I OUTPUT -p udp -m udp --dport 5353 -j ACCEPT
NOTE: These steps will work on most distributions configured with IPTABLES. There is no common command to make these rules persistent.
As I don't know anything about IP tables, I've simply copied these commands (as root, obviously). Still, I can't scan.
    So, my questions are:
    1. Has anybody else ever come across an issue like this?
    2. I don't even know for sure, whether this is a firewall issue - What iptabled magic would I need to temporarily disable the firewall to check?
    3. I tried checking my rules by "iptables -L". How can I tell "iptables -L" to specify the ports it is working on (as I did in the commands copied from lexmark's website)?
    Best wishes,
    Rufus

    Hi Bob
I believe so.  We put the install disc into this mac back when we bought it to set up the printer.  I'm assuming the scanning drivers were there as well since it's a multifunctional printer/scanner/fax wireless printer.
We've tried it both ways.  If I press the button scan on the printer, it reads can't find computer (or something like that).  When we go thru the HP icon on my computer screen and choose scan to computer, it does nothing.
We don't scan that often.  So the few times when we ran into this problem, we just did something else (like take a pic from our iPhone and email the pic...kinda stupid but did the trick.
But I want to have the function of the scanner available.  So that's why I'm here asking...thought others had this issue and had a solution.

  • Can't scan from brand-new HP PSC 1600 all-in-one printer/scanner/copier

Just installed this new all-in-one, and the printer and copier work perfectly. But when I try to scan, it won't do anything. Error message says to configure a "scan destination." But the menu to do so, on the desktop, won't open at all. Just stalls and stalls. Everything else seems to work fine, so no connection problems. Anybody know how to shake this menu loose?
    iMac G3, iBook G3   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I've been using the HP psc 1210v for about a year now, and I've always been able to print, but scanning (which I do very infrequently) has always been a problem. Typically, to use the scanner, I have to remove the printer and re-install with the latest drivers from HP's (currently 7.7.2).
So, after doing this again, I was able to scan a couple of images by using the "HP Device Manager". I just double-click on "Scan Picture", which opens the "HP Scan" application, and I can choose from there how to scan; either opening in another Application or Save to File.
I'm using 10.4.6, but I know I originally scanned some images using this printer in 10.3.9. Hopefully this will continue to work!
