I am developing a 3 tier application using EJB, JSP....and i want to incorporate the mail sending facility.
Can i send a email from the application without using exchange server?
plzz help!!!!

You will require some kind of SMTP server to be able to send mail from your app (not necessarily M$ exchange.) Just look for mail servers for the platform of your choice.

when any user sends a message using contact us page in SharePoint online.
1. We are inserting item in Contact Us List . - This is working fine
for anonymous users also. We have used Office365 anonymous codeplex wsp and it is working fine. Anonymous user is able to insert new record in the Contact Us List.
2. Once, new record is inserted in Contact Us list, we want to fire email notifying thanks to the user on his email id as well as to our company x person for notification of new inquiry.
We tried using Workflow having impersonation step for anonymous user but it is not working for Anonymous users. Workflow is able to sent the email if someone logged into system but not working for Anonymous user although workflow is getting started
but not able to send email although used Imperonsation step.
We are stuck into implementing second step.

Can't send outgoing email from godaddy when using imap Or pop settings

I have followed both Godaddy's and Apple's instructions. I have removed and readded the account numerous times. I don't understand why this will not send from Apple mail.

Is incoming email working correctly?
99.9% of this sort of issues is due to missconfiguration. Often silly thing - wrong port, incorrect encryption setting.
Another 0.1% are connectivity issues.
Can you post screenshots of your account settings in Mail?

I have the same problem, but I can send and receive e-mails from my home base. When out of the range of my home I get this message: "
A copy has been placed in your outbox. The sender address: "[email protected]" was rejected by the server."

I dislike the email templates in iPhoto. They are very difficult to work with. How can I send an email from iPhoto that is not in one of their templates like it was before iPhoto 11?

Can't send clearwire email from DROIDX

Has anyone came a crossed an issue where you couldn't send email from you DroidX using Clearwire? I spoke to clearwire and my phone is set up properly but yet it still won't send so they stated that it must be my phone., I can receive emails without issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

is it pop-3 email, with pop & smtp servers or do you go to the clearwire website for email.
if pop-3, the smtp server address may be wrong.
in login, for the account, pop & server accounts, only need login, not @xxxx.clearwire

when i use my pop-3 cox website for email, even on my pc or a public pc, it's agonizingly slow, with way too many hoops to make it worthwhile so i just look to see what's there.

Can't send AOL email from Apple mailbox.

Rebuilt mailbox, rechecked settings, Followed directions in Apple support and went through all preferences, but still can't send aol mail from Apple mailbox. I get the message," Can not send mail using the server smtp.aol.com:psyxprt". I can send email if I go through Safari and then to aol. Can receive mail. We have Verizon cable, if that is important. I'm about 4 hours into trying to fix this. Help!!!!!

Instead of accessing your AOL mail via Safari, setup your AOL account using Mac Mail.

v10.4.11 is a very oudated OS X so it's not going to work on Safari.
Firefox no longer supports OS X v10.4.11 which is why it's crashing.

Can't send receive email from Yahoo account or send from .mac account

On 5/1, when launching Mail, it asked me to update to new settings or use old settings. I should have kept the old settings. Instead, I had to set up all of my email accounts again. Everything is working except receiving mail from my Yahoo account. Also, I can receive mail from my .mac account, but can't send from it. These accounts are working fine on my iPhone. Is there a way to restore old email settings? Anyone else having this problem?

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
Is there a way to restore old email settings?
Only with a backup or Manually redoing it/them, which may or may not lose the mail you have.

Can't send any emails from various accounts set up in mail 4.4

I have a number of different email accounts (3 POP, 1 IMAP) set up in mail 4.4. Lately i have had some problems sending emails from some of the accounts. Usually, I get the outgoing mail server reject message, and then I try another server, and then it sends. THe next time I go to send an email through the outgoing server that I was rejected by, it sends without problems. Each time I shutdown, restart, or open the lid on the macbook, I go through the same process. UNTIL today. Now, I can't send ANYTHING outbound, via any of the 4 outgoing mail servers that I have set up. I have run with this same configuration without change for almost 3 years. Only change is that I have recently changed ISPs. Please help. Work from home, so critical problem.

I had had the same problem after changing my ISP. It is definitely a Mail 4.4 problem. I partially fixed it by trashing all four of my e-mail accounts in mail preferences (simply click on the minus sign to delete them) and rebuilding them all with the correct settings and passwords. This worked fine with ATT, MSN and QWest but the Mail app simply refuses to connect to AOL's outgoing mail server (smtp.aol.com). In other words, I can receive AOL mail but I cannot send AOL mail using the Mac Mail app. Have to log on to AOL's web site and do it that way, which is a huge pain in the you know where. Mail 4.4 is definitely hinky -- keeps erasing passwords and asking for them again and again. As a result, my keychain contains numerous repetitions of the same password for each mail account. I don't know why Apple doesn't fix this problem, which recurs with depressing regularity according to many Mac Mail users on this forum.

I thought I had a font problem with the emails I sent but I´ve realized that emails sent from the phone are plain text with a UTF8 encoding.
Is there any way I can send html emails, maybe using a different font for sending then? I use the inbuilt messaging that came from the phone, i´ve read somewhere around there´s a Nokia email client application, but I don´t know where to find it, if it can be used on a Nokia 5530 and if it does, can both Messaging and email clients coexist?

I would like to know how I can send an email message from my iPad 3 to all of my contacts at once.

If you have a Mac, and you have your contacts synced to your Mac (perhaps with iCloud), you could create a contact group on your Mac containing all your contacts and have that group synced to your iPad.
Perhaps you can do something like that, depending on whether you keep your contacts somewhere else and what type of computer you have.

amish has it right. there is something wrong with your outgoing mail settings. google you isp and 'e mail settings' and reenter them, real carefully. Pay particular attention to outgoing server name, and server ports. if it asks for your id and password and calls it optional, enter it anyway.
A few isps have actual apps that will configure it for you.

Can't send talktalk emails from apple mail.

My talk talk inbox on the apple mail programme is stubbornly empty and I can't send emails from it. My aol account works fine. It's a POP setting account I think and the incoming port number is correct at 110. Don't know how to check the outgoing port which I gather should be 587. How can I repopulate my inbox and send emails from the laptop again? I can from my phone and iPad.

No, there have been no problems here. Run Connection Doctor, and tell us what it reports, particularly about the SMTP?
