Can I send a preview of an iWeb website to a PC user prior to going live?

I have a completed site in iWeb that needs to be previewed by another member of my group prior to publishing the site live. He is a PC user. Is there a way to show him a preview of the site prior to uploading it to ftp and going live?
thanks!
Todd

Thank you...I did see that when I searched the board, but wasn't sure if that would work for a simple PC user (LOL) ...thanks!

Right, that's how iMessage works. Are you indicating that you cannot send SMS or MMS messages to other iPhone users over your cellular connection? Can you send them to other contacts (non-iPhone contacts)?

  • I need to send fonts used in an iWeb website. Where are they?

I redid a site for a friend who wants it sent to him so he can make changes in the future. He has iWeb as well. He needs ArialMS which his iWeb is substituting for ArialMT. All the copy is rewrapping when published. I can't locate that font. I tried Spotlight but to no avail. Where do I look? Am I looking for a typical font folder or does iWeb use something different? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks, yes I know that although that list was helpful. The problem is that the guy I'm sending it to says his machine requires Arial MS and I don't have that... just Arial. It wants to substitute with Arial MT but the text rewraps and throws everything off. I notice at the bottom of the link you sent it talks about different machines requiring different fonts so that may be it. I scanned it briefly but have to look at it closer. He is using a Mac Pro.
Also, he is a programmer (backend guy) and gave me coding to put into snippets for login buttons and such yet he doesn't see the coding when he opens the coding of a page. How does he access it? He has existing pages with forms for his clients to use that he has to alter and update the look to the site I made. Any thoughts?
I was just trying to help him... don't know if I did at this point.

  • Can I convert my old 35 page IWeb website to IWeb 09?

I currently have a 35 page website that I created in the old IWeb. I want to update to OSX panther and
I Web09. Will there be any issues opening the old website and working with it in 09?
    Thanks for any help.
    John

    John:
There shouldn't but be sure to keep a backup of the 08 domain file before you open it for the first time with iWeb 09.
You mean upgrade to Leopard, right? I'd run Disk Utility and repair disk permissions first followed by a verify of the disk. If repairs are indicated boot into the leopard install disk and run Disk Utility to repair the disk from the Utilities menu in the first window after the language selection window.
Install Leopard and then run the 10.5.6 COMBO updater. You can get it from the Apple Downloads page. I find it safer to download and run the necessary updaters manually.
If you want to keep iWeb 08 available just in case make a copy of the application and name it iWeb 08. Then the iLife 09 installer will update the plain iWeb application and leave that one untouched.
There have been issues with the red site and page icons making it necessary to publish every page each time you make a change to just one page. I've gotten around that by creating a new site for each page of my family site (currently have 79) so that I only have one site (usually consisting of only one page- a photo page) to edit and upload each time. This keeps the domain file size down.
You can link to a another iWeb site in the navbar by creating a blank page with the name of the other site and adding the following code to an HTML snippet on that blank page:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    parent.location.replace('URL TO SITE/PAGE YOU WANT TO REDIRECT TO');
    </script>
This will immediately redirect the visitor to the other site. A return button can be put on the other site's page (I turn off the navbar in those sites which act as individual pages) so it appears like part of one big site.
If you're interested in that approach this is how I split up my original multi site domain file. You would first create a new site and drag page 1 to it. Then create a new site and drag page 2 to it. Again keep a backup of your original domain file.
I use iWebSites to manage over 40 individual sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process and move it to another location on your HD until you're satisfied the separation process is completed and what you want.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

  • How can i limit Safari to 1 or 2 websites on an admin user account

We rent out rooms with sensitive data being used on our machines so I only want to allow internet access to/from a single website (yousendit.com) to controll incoming/outgoing data.
I could do this with parental controls if I set up a new user, but I can't use a non-admin account as the client should have total control on the system including whatever they wish to do with the OS/Apps/... I don't mind if they are able to go in and change the internet settings later if they a savy enough (most aren't), as I can at least say "the system started with no internet access other than this website" if a data leak ever occurs and they try to point fingers.
I cannot do this from the router as they can do whatever they want on their own laptops, so I don't want to restrict their personal systems browsing abilities.

bad idea to give a kid access to an admin account.  You need to set up seperate accounts for them that are non admon and them in your admin account access parental controls.

  • * Can We Send Email Notifications Only using User Task in Oracle BPM ?? *

    Hi All,
Can we send any email notification to initiator, only from Oracle BPM User / Human task without using any notification activity.
Is it possible to send email notifications using BPM User task alone.
    Any Help appreciated.
    Regards
    Satya

    Hi Satya,
To send an email to the person who initiated the work item instance in the process when the instance reaches a human task:
    1. Ensure that the id of person who initiated the instance is stored in the process predefined variable called "creator".
    2. In the Interactive activity's input data mapping, map this "creator" process predefined variable to the corresponding "creator" attribute in the human task's execData.
    3. Open the human task -> click the "Notification" tab -> click the "+" icon in the upper right -> on the new row added to the bottom of the list, leave the task status dropdown set to "Assign" and change the recipent (the middle column) to "Initiator".

Yes - use the Share menu...Send via Mail.
Or save it to your drive, put it on a server and give them the link.

I have a friend who wants me to zip my iWeb website files so I can send them to him.  I am having difficulty finding where these files are.  Thanks!

Besides the trillion topics that explain where the file is, let me add another one.
    The UNIX way : ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/
    The Mac way :
    Finder
    Hold Option key
    Pull down GO menu
    Look closely

  • I need to create a form on my website that viewers fill out and send to me on my iWeb created website. Is there a template or widget that can create fill-in forms?

I need to create a form that viewers can fill-in and send back to me from my website.  I created the website in iWeb and would like a template or theme that has the form creator included.  It there a widget?  Sorry, I'm a novice.

If you want to raise your web design skill level above that of the average iWeb user, you can try creating your own. The actual form layout is fairly easy if you use CSS to style it since the amount of HTML is minimal now that table layouts are a thing of the past.
Here's some examples of forms created in iWeb...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/iweb-snippets/form.html
The formmail.php script is probably the hardest part to get your head around and the example provided in the download on the above page uses a very simple one along with a formmail-thank.php.
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/iweb-snippets/form.html
Nowadays we need to consider mobile device users more and more so forms need to have the special inputs required to launch the various types of keyboard on these devices.
Here's an example of a form which responds to browser/device width. On mobile devices, the
jQuery UI Datepicker disappears to be replaced by the mobile version.
For those of you who don't have a mobile device to test it on, this page also has illustrations of the various keyboard types and the alternative date pickers...

  • Can I send an iPhoto book to my parents as a PDF? I need their input before I order the ibook.

Can I send an iPhoto book to my parents as a PDF? I need their input before I order the ibook.

You can create a PDF preview of your book, see this link:
iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040
The PDF will be too large to email to your parents - copy it to a USB stick or burn it as CD or DVD and send it as a letter.  Or upload it to a server for download, your Dropbox, etc.

  • When I send a link to my iweb page it doesn't open

If I want to send a link of my iweb page to someone, the way I do it is firstly open the page online, copy the link from the browsers address and then from mail I goto "add hyperlink" paste the link in and then send, all looks ok, but when the other person tries to open, the link will not.
I sent to myself to test and found that the link address once sent this way from mail, is different than the original. Where the original address would be %20 it is now %2520. The number 25 is placed in front of 20 numerous times through out the link and so of course the site won't open.
    Would hugely appreciate any feedback,
    thanks
    torder

I decided to edit my post and add some more info but I guess I took too long. So here's an edited version:
Idea 1 - the simple method: Forget the "add hyperlink" part. Just paste the address into your email message by hand. It comes out as a hyperlink (though it does not appear so when you are crafting the message) and does not create the problem you are having.
Idea 2 - the prettier method: Use "add hyperlink" but do some editing first. When you paste the hyperlink into the box you must replace each "%20" with a space. The link will be displayed in your email message as you would like it to appear - with spaces instead of %20's - but the underlying link will have the %20's. I can't guarantee it will come out pretty with every email program and every preference setting someone might use but any good program should get it right.
