Can I send my ipod touch 5th generation to Apple for repairs, how do I go about it?

Recently my ipod touch 5th gen's home button has become unresponsive, I want to know if I can send it back to Apple for repairs and how I go about it/if I can go about it.

You need to contact Apple with the link below:
How do I obtain service for my iPod?
The iPod support site has troubleshooting articles to help you solve your issue. If you still need service for your iPod, you can contact Apple. You can also take your iPod to your local Apple Authorized Service Provider. Note: There may be a fee for diagnostic service.
If you have an Apple store nearby best is to make an appointment at the Genius Bar

If not covered by warranty, Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99 for 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • Where can i get my ipod touch 5th generation screen replaced for, like, $50 to $60 dollars?

where can i get my ipod touch 5th generation screen replaced for, like, $50 to $60 dollars? I broke it a few days ago and so far havent been able to find a place to repair it. Also,it would be best if the place was online, because live in a small town with virtually no places to get this done. If you could help that would be sooo amazing! Thank you!

We can not advise you on getting unauthorized service for your iPod.
Keep in mind that Apple does NOT sell parts
The only possible sources for parts if you have it done by someone other than Apple are:
    Stolen parts
    Counterfeit parts
    Salvaged parts

  • Does the Ipod Touch 5th generation support AVRCP for bluetooth connectivity.

Do the Ipod Touch 5th generation support AVRCP for bluetooth connectivity.
I would like to know if it supports the volume control, call answering function and next/back song panel in a bluetooth headphone. (AVRCP bluetooth)
Does it support headphones with microphone? (for Face Time, TinyChat or recording)
Does it support this device on bluetooth with the Ipod Touch 5th Gen?

Though this wasn't updated (not having the Ipod Touch 5) but seeing the Ipod Touch 4 having both AVRCP and A2DP, Ipod Touch 5 should also have those...
Thank you so much... Have a wonderful day

  • I can't use my ipod touch 5th generation on my imac G5, needs itunes version 10.7  Where can I get that?

My imac G5 is old, but still works beautifully!  I just bought the ipod touch, 5th generation and itunes wants a version (10.7) that I cannot get on their site!  Any ideas? I tried hooking the ipod up to the ipad (2nd), but I get no reaction whatsoever!  Do I have to return this ipod?

iTunes 10.7 requires an Intel Mac and isn't compatible with yours.

  • When will Ipod Touch 5th generation be available for selling in the Philippines?

Just want to know when will Ipod Touch 5th gen be availabe here in the Philippines.
I really don't have any idea when it will be released here since I do not know
how Apple manages product releases into different countries here in Asia.

What does the Philippens Apple store say? As far as I know the 5G willbe avaialbe every bode that same time as in the USA.  Apple says:
The new iPod touch, starting at $299 (U.S.), is available for pre-order at the Apple Online Store on September 14 and arrives in Apple Retail Stores in October.

  • Can't update my iPod Touch 5th generation to iOS 6.1 - error 3194

I saw there was an update so I plugged it into my PC and it said that there was a new update available. I always update via iTunes. It download the update and started to backup my iPod. Then when it was updating and error 3194 popped up. I've tried several times, I've rebooted my PC, tried doing that thing with the host file and what not. Then I tried to install it via Wi-Fi but it just said that I wan't connected to Wi-Fi which I was.
How can I fix this? Is it a problem on Apple's side?

Try updating the iPod touch again.
A few people in this thread say the problem isn't happening anymore.

  • Can i get an iPod touch 5th generation if I turn in my ipod touch 4th generation

full working 4th generation ipod touch 8gb. it has a lot of scratches and a minor dent but no cracks and full working condition

If you're in the US, places like Amazon and Best Buy will purchase your device from you and give you store credit. The 'how much' depends on the condition of the device and what model it is. May or may not get more than if you just sell it, but, presuming you're getting a comperable replacement, that 10% discount is 20-30 dollars or so. So you may be able to get more if you resell it.

  • I can't update my ipod touch 5th generation to iOS 6.1.2

iTunes says it has detected my an error and need to restore. I tried to restore few times, it give me the same messages.

    Maybe:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

  • IPod touch 5th generation constant Apple logo

I was talking to multiple people in a group message. I then decided to use the interenet to look something up. Firstly I tried Chrome, but it closed automatically without showing anything but a white screen.  I then resorted to safari to see if it would be different. It was, to a certain extent.  It came up as normal, however all my pages mysteriously closed without my permission. I entered the search and the page began to load but it closed to the home screen like Chrome.  I powered off my device thinking if I turned it off then on again it would solve this problem.  Instead, it showed the apple logo for 30 minutes.  I then tried putting it into recovery mode as a last resort by holding the sleep and home button for 10 seconds but I got the same result.  This has been carrying on for over an hour now and iTunes won't pick it up if I plug it in.
    Help is appreciated.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My Ipod touch 5th generation 32gb had been stolen

My Ipod touch 5th generation 32gb had been stolen, how do I report to apple so they can not use it again. Thank you for all, Javier Rodriguez Gauxax.

You do not report it to Apple at all.
Like any manufacturer, they can do nothing at all.
Report it to the police and change your passwords.

  • HT1212 Up to how long will my iPod touch 5th generation be disabled with ios7? The screen doesn't say anymore...

I can't remeber my iPod touch 5th generation's pass code. I know the four numbers included, just not the sequence. It disabled yesterday at 6pm, and it's now 11am and still disabled. Also, when I first got my iPod, my friend synced it with her iTunes, so I can't plug it into mine.
I have a lot of pictures and songs that I really don't want to lose, by just restoring it, if I can even do that.
    So, my question is either,
    1. Up to how many hours can my iPod be disabled for? (The new iOS won't tell us!) And how long will it disabled after each try??
    2. Is there any way to get the pass code off my iPod touch without losing all my apps, music, pictures, ect.?
    Thank you!!

If it says "iPad is disabled" it is never going to time out.  At that point, your only option is to restore it in iTunes.
If you have a backup in place now (in iCloud or iTunes) once restored, you can restore from backup, but the only way to un-disable the device is to restore it.

  • Ipod touch 5th generation drained for 4-5 hours

    hello guys
i just wanna ask something >> my  IPOD TOUCH 5TH GENERATION was drained for about 4-5 hours and now that i charge it,its not working at all but it show's the battery percentage (it show's red thing)
    what should i do?
go to apple store for the warranty?
    wait for it to charge?
    OR ,connect it to itunes?

Hey Leewenramos, Try to charge it, the "red thing", is your battery icon, it's telling you-- you're out of charge. Try to charge for 30 minutes and then attempt to use, if it does not charge, inspect the charging port on your iPod, your looking for lint or foreign debris in the port that could be preventing you from charging, also try another cable, the one you're using may have failed, developed a short. The lighting cables have a history of failing / shorting out, Apple will replace if within 1 year of purchase date and failure is do to manufacture fault. And if possible try a different charging device with a new cable. You could also attempt a soft reset, Press and hold the power and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears, about 10 seconds, then release both buttons. (If you had some signs of life you could try a hard reset, Settings>General>Reset then tap Reset All Settings or connecting iTunes and do a restore, just make sure you make backups before you restore or you will loose data / info stored on this iPod, but if your iPod will not power on that is not an option.) If none of the above work, contact your Apple store and schedule an appointment to have your iPod evaluated, make sure to bring the iPod and cable and charging device if possible. Good luck. Cheers.

  • If I pre-order the iPod touch 5th generation, do I have to pay it with credit card or can i pay it when i go get it on the store? if I pre order it, can i go pick it up form 1-3 of october, or it is not available?

if I pre-order the iPod touch 5th generation, do I have to pay it with credit card or can i pay it when i go get it on the store? if I pre order it, can i go pick it up form 1-3 of october, or it is not available? and they send it to the store i want to?

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Hope this helps. Good luck. Cheers.

  • Tried to send iMessage from iPod touch (5th generation) but continuously says "contact not registered with iMessage". The contact IS registered with iMessage, but won't send any messages to anyone.

I have an iPod touch 5th generation (7.1.2) that has not been sending iMessages to other iMessage users. At first my iPod would not let me sign in to use iMessage, but I searched on different discussion boards that helped me log in. Now the trouble is not being able to send messages at all. I tried to delete the contact I was trying to message and restart the conversation board, but that didn't help at all. The contact continues to say 'xxxxxx not registered with iMessage" when, in fact, they are. I need help to resolve this issue.
    Thanks
