Can I send screen share video from my iMac to my MBA via Thunderbolt? (NOT target display)

I am currently using my iMac's display as a second monitor for my MBA using Target Display Mode.
I can at the same time use screen sharing to connect to my iMac from the MBA so I can still use the iMac processor while I have its screen hijacked using TDM.
However the video is choppy running over the wireless network.
The thought occurs to me that it would be quicker if I screen sharing was sending its data via the existing Thunderbolt connection.
So what this would mean is:
MBA video: MBA -> iMac
iMac video: MBA <- iMac
Does anyone know whether this is possible?

I don't know if TB can do File/Screen Sharing directly, & the iMac doesn't really have TB does it, so I think what would work is a TB<->Gigabit Ethernet adapter to Ethernet on the iMac...

I use DLNA client built into TV (Sony Bravia, connected to house network). Windows has built-in DLNA server. No need to create a slideshow, just export photos into the location served by DLNA, and use the in-TV slideshow capability.
Dunno whether Samsung has built-in DLNA client, but hopefully this will give you some ideas if nothing else...

Our bar band just purchased a couple TV sets to hang on light stands at our shows... we'd like to walk around with a handheld camcorder or iPhone and send that live video to the TV sets.   We are thinking of using an iPhone 4S and an Apple TV... connect the iPhone 4S to the Apple TV (Gen 3) via AirPlay Mirroring... then walk around the dance floor with the iPhone 4S using it's camcorder and display that live feed to the TV sets.
Will this work?
Is there a better way?   The other option we were thinking would involve some kind of wireless video transmitter and receiver.

Okay, then what we have to do is use another more robust app for converting these files, as whatever file format you are starting with, iTunes obviouslly can't convert. I do not have an iPad, so I cannot speak from experience and give you a finite way to go about this but I can guide you along until it's figured out.
Here are the accepted video formats for the iPad2:
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format

If you want to copy an attachment from an email then you can't do that directly from the Mail app. If the email is still on your provider's server then you should be able to read the email on your provider's site via a browser on your computer and save it from there directly on your computer. Otherwise you will need to copy the file from the Mail app to another app on your iPad via the 'open in' function. Do you have an app on your iPad that supports the type of file that you want to copy ? How you then copy the file to your computer will depend upon what the app that you copy it to supports - different apps have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via your wifi network, dropbox etc

By sharing playlists you mean sending the list of song titles along with the songs themselves you can't. That would violate Apple's contracts with the studios regarding sharing music, videos, books, etc. Which is strictly forbidden. With the single exception that I am aware of which is Home Sharing.
If you just want to share the list of song titles you could take a screen shot and email that. Hold down the home button and press and release the power button. The image is then stored in your camera roll.

If you want to do it wirelessly, I would use Dropbox. The iPad Dropbox app has a cool auto-upload process that will automatically upload video and photos from the iPad Camera Roll to Dropbox.
First sign up for a free Dropbox account from your computer.
Then, download the free Dropbox app on your iPad.
Log in to the Dropbox app on the iPad with your new account and click on the Photos icon in the lower left corner of the screen (second one from the left).
Select "Enable Camera Upload" and "Only Wi-Fi." The upload process will begin for all existing photos and videos in the Camera Roll.
From now on, all future photos and/or video taken by the iPad will automatically upload to the Dropbox folder. You can then download your photos and videos from Dropbox to your computer by going tohttp://www.dropbox.com, logging in to your account, and downloading the photos.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
The Apple TV 2 doesn't show up under devices like the Apple TV 1, to send video and music to the Apple TV you need to use the Airplay Option which appears in the lower right corner of iTunes.

I can't upload or import videos from my iphoto library, into final cut pro x. When i click, IMPORT MEDIA in FCP, It lists iPhoto Library as GRAY, and will not let me access it. I need the videos out of there. I have tried every way I can think of.

I have also tried from the iphoto side, to export the videos or share them to final cut. I have had no luck.
I have tried to drag and drop indidual video clips from iphoto to fcp, and the programs simply do not respond to each other
I can see in the OLDER version of final cut pro x, where it has IMPORT FILES as an option, it was possible. I see this on forums and youtube videos of the older versions.
However, the newer version that i have, does not have IMPORT 'FILES' as an option, it is simply all lumped together as IMPORT 'MEDIA'

So im safer using footage that is remotely being pulled from iphoto...
vs
using footage that is imported into FCP from imovie?
Is there anything i can do in fcp to make this footage more reliable or safer or more stable as i pull remotely from iphoto?
All the footage, and all the libraries to all programs, or on a new pegasus 12tb raid 5 setup fyi.

QuickTime Player Pro can't record the screen.
QuickTime X can record the screen (but only all of it and not just a window). It's a part of Snow Leopard.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple - if you would like help then you will need to provide more information than 'can't import' e.g. how are trying to sync content and what happens when you do it ?
You have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer, and your phone appears in it when it's connected to your computer ? If not then see if this troubleshooting page helps : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
You should be able to sync music and films/TV programmes by selecting your phone on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar via control-S on a PC) and then using the tabs on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and sync your content

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
