Can I set histogram to always display in luminosity?

I am using PSE 8 for Mac. I am teaching beginners. I would like the histogram to always display in luminosity mode as default.
Is this possible?

I would encourage Adobe to consider making this something which can be done in Preferences. Since Elements is often used by beginners to digital photography, it would be helpful to limit the histogram to luminosity.

Can't set 'Blank' on Second display

I've found that I can't set the second display to be plain blank, it still shows images the same as if it was set to 'Alternate'. I can set it to Desktop, but I prefer it to be plain black at times and not be a distraction.

The implementation of dual display modes is ... indecipherable. It works, it just doesn't work in a way that I've been able to make sense of. The modes themselves are odd, the times when one can access the modes are odd, the changes in both of those betw. regular (windowed) and full-screen behavior are odd, and don't even start to think about how Aperture handles dual displays when you move the main window to your secondary display.
Here is what works for me, for "Blank" mode.
. Keep Aperture on your main display.
. Keep Aperture in regular (windowed) mode.
. Change to Browser view (not Split View or Viewer)
. "View→Secondary Viewer (note the wording!)→Blank" should now be available. Select it. Your second monitor should go blank (mine shows an 18% gray, but that could be my desktop setting).
Here's where it gets exciting. If you select an image in the Browser, the secondary viewer (usually) stays blank. If you double-click and change to Viewer mode, the secondary viewer stays blank. If you now double-click and return to browser mode, the selected image is shown on the secondary viewer even though "View→Secondary Viewer→Blank" is still selected. Press "v" to change to Split view, and the secondary viewer returns to a blank display. As long as you alternate betw. Viewer and Split views, the secondary viewer will remain blank. As soon as you switch to Browser, the selected images will show on the secondary viewer.
The take-away is
1. "Blank" doesn't really work, and
2. If the selections for Secondary Viewer are grayed-out, change to Browser view and try them again.

No, not to '''''always''''' open a link in a new window. Whether a link opens in the same window or a new window depends on the the page creator specifying ''new'' or ''blank'' for that link. ''Firefox can divert the new/blank window to a Tab instead, which is the default setting.''
If you don't want tabs when a new/blank window is specified, deselect the pref for ''' Open new windows in a new tab instead''' in Tools > '''Options > Tabs'''

How can I set Firefix to always start in 32-bit mode?

Running FF 4.0.1 on OS X 10.6.7. Apparently defaults to start 64-bit mode. This doesn't work with an extension needed for Netflix streaming, requiring restart in 32-bit mode. How can I set FF to start in 32-bit mode in the first place? (And what would I miss out on if I did that?)

Other users should note that Firefox has public release versions of 64bit only for Mac And Linux; not for Windows, yet.

Can you set DW to always show split view?

This is not a major problem but an annoying thing and I can't seem to find. I almost always work in split view - never design view. Yet DW seems to default to design view. Even if I have previously edited a page in split or even code view, the next time I open that file (if I have closed and opened DW in the meantime) it opens in design view.
I tried making a custom workspace that included viewing files in split view but sure enough whenever I re-open DW any files I open are once again displayed in Design View.
Anyone know how to change this?

Yes, the same problem started in CS4-Mac for me.
Just for kicks, I opened my custom workspace a moment ago. I then opened a document to split view, then resaved that setup as a new custom workspace.
Upon reopening Dreamweaver the next time, it remembered my split view setting. However, the time after that, I was back in Design view.
This seems to be pretty buggy.
Hopefully someone will post a solution.

IMail: How can I set mail preferences to display actual email address and not short names.

Even though I have it correctly set in Preferences , i.e. "Use Smart Addresses" is unchecked, the addressee automatically changes to the person's name rather than the email address. I am unable to find a way to display the actual email address option on iMail (Yosemite) I do not want nicknames/short names but want the actual email address to display on my address line. Can anyone advise please?

Ajax: How can I set Item of type "Display as text" ?

Hello Everyone,
I would like to set an item to a calculated value using ajax. I'm perfectly able to do so for items of the type text field using any of the many examples available on the web, but I can't make it work with an item of the type "display as text".
What I'd like to achieve is set a value in a form field and then have a hyperlink appear next to it with that value as one of the arguments. Any idea on how to make this work ?

The result in both cases (test1 and test2 ) is that nothing happens. In Firefox I don't get any warnings in the error console but in google chrome is see the following message when inspecting the element:
Uncaught Error: NO_MODIFICATION_ALLOWED_ERR: DOM Exception 7
[Exception] #<a DOMCoreException>
I believe its something very trivial I'm missing - can you give me some more direction please ?

I have a sinusoidal pulse and when value its near zero (between 0.5 and -0.5) i want to start to write data and also stop condition. Can I set the TOC to display all levels, not just one?

I'm in RH 8 and using Webhelp.
When I generate, I have 2 levels of books.
When I click on a book at level 2, it closes another book that may be open at level 2.
Is there a way to make all books and pages and all topics display when generated?

Unfortunately there is no feature or setting you may enable in RoboHelp that will cause the TOC to initially display in a fully expanded state. You should consider submitting a Wish Form to ask for the option to be added into a future version.

Can I set all folders and displays to clean up files by name automatically?

It stinks having to clean up each folder individually by name of file. Is there a way to do this as a system preference so it will do it automatically for everything?

In the case you mentioned (COMMAND J) the answer is yes;
This is the default option on my MBP where one can change the parameters and they will always be reflected as such. Take note of the sliders, text size and so forth.

How to set a JScrollPane always display the last line?

I have put a JTextArea in a JScrollPane.
Whenever I append a new line of sentence to the JTextArea, the JScrollPane only shorten the vertical scroll bar.
Is there any command that can scroll down to the last line whenever I append a new sentence to the JTextArea?

I have tried to add the line you shown, but it can just show the second last line. It cannot scroll down to the last line.
e.g. I have these message:
AAA
BBB
CCC
If the message board can only show 3 lines and I enter one more line "DDD", then the last line will be shown is CCC. I need to scroll down a bit more myself to see DDD. If I scroll to the top and enter another line"EEE", it will scroll down to show "DDD" but not "EEE".

For use in the BB, the on-device format must be used...no PC contains the necessary file structure that the BB needs to find on the card in order to use it correctly. If you can no longer read the card via the BB nor the PC, then it's quite likely that your data is already destroyed. But, there are several PC utilities that claim to be able to recover Flash Memory devices such as SD cards...you should perhaps check those out (Zero Sum something or other? Can't recall specifically, but google will be your best friend in your quest.)
