Can I set my email to delete from computer as well as phone

can i set my emails to delete from my computer when i delete form my iphone. I view all my emails frommy phone and then once a week go into my email account form my computer and have the deleted emails all waiting to be deleted again, a pain. i had a blackberry before an iphone and it gave you the option to delete just from the phone or from the phone and computer but cant seem to find this option on my iphone

Iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
If you have copied everything from the old computer to the new one, then sync al of the info to the iphone.

It appears that this only happens with Hotmail emails that have been on the iPhone, opened on the iPhone but not deleted via the iPhone, and then deleted via my computer by accessing my Hotmail account. The emails remain in the Hotmail account on the iPhone and when I try to delete them, via "edit" and deleting selected or swiping and choosing "delete," I receive an error pop up that says "Unable to Move Messages The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash." The email will temporarily be removed, but it will then reappear. Anyone have a clue on how to fix this? Thanks.

Note: This should not affect MobileMe accounts.
Resolution
To resolve this issue go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > [affected account name] > Advanced > Deleted Mailbox on iPhone or iPod touch.
If "On the Server" is an option, select Trash below that (or select Deleted Items or Deleted Messages). Otherwise, select Trash located under "On My iPhone". Once the Deleted Mailbox has been set, tap Advanced and then press the Home button to return the Home screen.
If the Deleted Mailbox is already set to Trash, please follow these steps:
Tap another folder such as Spam under the "On the Server" section
Tap Advanced.
Tap Deleted Mailbox, then set it to Trash located under On My iPhone.
Tap Advanced.
Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.

It depends on the type of email account you are using, not on iCloud. If you are using an IMAP or exchange account, when you delete from one device, it is deleted from all devices. If you are using a POP (POP3) account, it won't. (iCloud email, Gmail and Yahoo are all IMAP accounts.)

click on delete from server-this option isn't on my iphone
click on when removed from inbox-obviously I didn't have this option either since the above was not on iphone
my outgoing mail server is a SMTP. There is nothing in the IMAP Path Prefix-could this be why-do I not have an IMAP or POP?

Sounds like you have an IMAP/Exchange mail account (vice a POP3 account). By design, an IMPA/Exchange account synchronized your mail boxes among different devices. That behavior can't be changed.

Another option is to forward your Cox email to your iCloud email account. iCloud uses IMAP not POP so you would not have that problem

A better solution is if your email provider uses IMAP. IMAP sync email folders between multiple devices. Meaning any device will receive the email, all sent email can be seen on the devices. If you delete email from one device the email is deleted from all the other devices. Check with your email provider to see if they offer IMAP services.
If they do not your choices are to 1) configure email on the PC to keep Mail on the mail server or 2) change email providers to something like Gmail or Outlook.com (as examples). FWIW I use Cox IMAP email and fully sync email between a Win 8.1 Update 1 laptop, a Win 7 desktop, an iPad 4, an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5S.

Can't set my email account on E52

Dear all
I have a real problem,
i can't set my email account using email application on my New nokia E52.
I enter my adress and password, and wait few seconds to let the phone detect the parameters, but nothing is happening !!! no new email box is created !!! and he didn't invite me to enter settings : like server, port number... automatically he return to the main menu.
i updated my frameware with the lastest version, but still have same problem.
can anybody help me please ???

1. go to Nokia Messaging at: www.email.nokia.com
2. register your email accounts you want to add to your phone.
3. then try and register them on your phone. it should work.
4 for me on my e52 my hotmail.co.uk does not still work. but yahoo, gmail and ovi works.(
5 to make hot mail work you could use the hotmail app found in your text messing folder or download it from the ovi store.

Actually, it had to do with Comcast, not the iPad. The default for Comcast is IMAP, and that is based on the information they have available when the account goes into verification. It verifies an IMAP account, and since you have not migrated to the IMAP account, you were having problems. It isn't something anyone can fix, except you. It would not ask you at the beginning if you wanted IMAP or POP, it has to do with the mail provider's verification settings, which is a Comcast issue, but because they are providing IMAP now, it defaults to that. If you are still using POP, you have to force the mail app to get there, which is what I provided you the instructions for. Apple is not going to fix anything, because there is nothing for them to fix.
Either way, you got it fixed and that is all it takes. As a Comcast customer, I was aware of this, since I had migrated to IMAP already.

E71 had to do a full reset and can't set up email ...
