Can I set my home pages to open as App Tabs?

I always have a set of my favorite, every day sites as App Tabs, which are also my home pages. I usually let Firefox just restore my previous session, but sometimes I just need a clean restart - just my App Tabs/home pages. But clicking Home opens these tabs as regular tabs. Can I set them to open as App Tabs instead?

No, you can't do that easily. If you click the Home page button then you always get normal tabs.

  • How can I set the home page in iPad safari?

    Opening Safari, the screen shows the last page used. Is it possible to set a home page so that, for example, Sfari always opens with the Google search page?

    Safari doesn't have a homepage as such, but you can create a homescreen shortcut for a particular page : go to the page that you want and then tap the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it to the left of the URL address field and you should get an option to 'Add To Home Screen'. You can then just tap shortcut on your homescreen to open Safari on that page (it will still re-open any other tabs that you had open when you closed Safari)

  • Mutiple home page settings opens many duplicate tabs

    I have set two home pages"http://www.yahoo.com| http://att.my.yahoo.com" when i click the home icon, it opens the second home page in a new tab, one tab every time the icon is clicked.
    ie the first home page tab clears and reloads in the same tab,having one tab.
    The second home page adds a new tab, ten clicks= 1 yahoo.com tab and 10 att.my.yahoo.com tabs is there a setting to control this?

    How did you change the homepage:
    *Install add-on
    *Change it from the options menu
    *Adjust <code>about:config</code> strings
    Please ensure that you do not have multiple URLs in the homepage field of the Options window.
    If you do not, please try starting Firefox in Safe Mode to ensure that this issue is not caused by an extension. [[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-safe-modeMore Details]]

  • When I click the home button, it takes me to my home page AND opens a blank tab. How can I get it to stop opening the new tab!

    I have igoogle as my hompage. When I click the home button, it will open my igoogle page but also open up a blank tab as well. Firefox didn't always do this, it just started. Maybe when I upgraded to the 5.0. I've tried looking in the options and I can't find something there and there doesn't seem to be a solution on the web. How do I get it to stop doing that?

  • How can I stop my home page from opening OVER a page from a link I just clicked on?

    If I click on a link from an email, Firefox always opens 2 pages with my home page (Google) covering up the page I clicked the link to go to. How can I stop it from doing that?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == I think since I got the most recent upgrade (3.6.7)

    There's a good chance this is related to a bug that kicks in when you do not have Flash running in any tab and you open a new window to a page that does use Flash: suddenly, the previous window (typically the one from which you launched the link or bookmark) comes back to the front.
    The details are in this recent thread: [https://support.mozilla.org/questions/955659 Opening New Windows and Shockwave Flash].

  • I am new to firefox. when i loaded firefox and set my home page," mozilla opening page" always opens as well. how do i stop that? in English"

    it opens in another tab. is this an automaticv process or can it be turned off?

    After starting go to the tab you don't want for home page and delete. When in your proper home page selection goto tools..options and select current. Restart. You should be ok. BTW this will happen with all upgrades and updates.

  • Can I set a home page for Safari on iPad Mini?

    Very simple. Can this be accomplished? Am I missing a setting somewhere? My iPad Mini is fully updated, purchased in December 2012 as a Christmas gift to me. As new as can be. I use my business web page as my home page on Safari on every computer I own, so my iPad Mini is the only device I have not been able to set Safari to display as my start page on my iPad Mini.
    Thanks for your help,
    Kelly J.

    It doesn't have a homepage setting as such, but you can go to a particular site and then create a homescreen shortcut for that page - then when you tap on that shortcut you'll be taken to that page.

  • My macbook air won't load.  Says start up disk is full but I can't get the home page to open

    My Macbook air won't load.  Says the start up disk is full but won't open the home page so I can do anything about it

    Step 1
    The first step in dealing with a startup failure is to secure the data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since the last backup, you can skip this step.
    There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to start. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
    a. Start up from the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.” The article refers to starting up from a DVD, but the procedure in Recovery mode is the same. You don't need a DVD if you're running OS X 10.7 or later.
    b. If Step 1a fails because of disk errors, and no other Mac is available, then you may be able to salvage some of your files by copying them in the Finder. If you already have an external drive with OS X installed, start up from it. Otherwise, if you have Internet access, follow the instructions on this page to prepare the external drive and install OS X on it. You'll use the Recovery installer, rather than downloading it from the App Store.
    c. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, start the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    d. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
    You might be able to start up in safe mode even though you can't start up normally. Otherwise, start up from an external drive, or else use the technique in Step 1b, 1c, or 1d to mount the internal drive and delete some files. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation.

  • IPad1 shuts down to home page or opens an app in the app store

    My iPad 1 has been shutting down web sites &amp; returning to my home page.  As well, when playing a game like Words with Friends, it will close, sometimes after being open only 20-30 seconds, &amp; reopens to a game in the app store.  I have tried closing certain functions of my iPad, as suggested in a different forum, but that made no difference.  Can anyone suggest what might be the problem?

    If your account uses a credit card then card must be valid. It doesn't matter whether the app is free or not, you still need to have that valid credit card.

  • How do I get Firefox's home page to open a new tab when searching?

    I'm slightly modifying Firefox's about:home page, and I'm trying to get the home page to effectively be its own app tab. In order to do that, I need to make it so that when I search with it, it opens a new tab to view my search results.
    I've tried two things so far; I've tried adding the attribute '''target="_blank"''' to the '''<form>''' tag, and I've tried adding the attribute '''onclick="this.form.target='_blank';return true;"''' to the '''<input>''' tag nested inside of the '''<form>''' tag (I'm guessing the latter is JavaScript lol). I also tried an extension "TabSubmit" which didn't work here.
    I know how to edit the right page (I'm changing the contents of aboutHome.xhtml in omni.ja), and have already edited the stylesheet slightly (to underline links when hovering over them and adjusting the fading of Mozilla's logo when hovering over it). This is the next change I wanted to make.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

    The about:home uses window.location.href = url; to change the location of the current tab.
    Changing this to window.open(url); and adding a line at the end of the aboutHome.js file to initialize localStorage works for me with a locally saved about:home page.
    <pre><nowiki>function onSearchSubmit(aEvent)
    let searchTerms = document.getElementById("searchText").value;
    if (gSearchEngine && searchTerms.length > 0) {
    const SEARCH_TOKENS = {
    "_searchTerms_": encodeURIComponent(searchTerms)
    let url = gSearchEngine.searchUrl;
    for (let key in SEARCH_TOKENS) {
    url = url.replace(key, SEARCH_TOKENS[key]);
    window.open(url);
    aEvent.preventDefault();
    localStorage["search-engine"]="{\"name\":\"Google\",\"searchUrl\":\"http://www.google.com/search?q=_searchTerms_&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a\"}";</nowiki></pre>

    Every search i've done since the last update, Firefox open the new search in the old tab. I've already fixed the boolean valor in browser.search.openintab to true in about:config, but it's working only with google search (and not, i.e. with youtube search).

  • Can you set a web page as a 'home page' on the i phone safari as you would?

    Can you set a home page or will the safari button always take you to the last web site you were on?

    You cannot set a Home Page in Safari but if you save your favorite bookmark to the home screen, you can use that to open the browser on iPhone.
    To do this:
    Open Safari and open the page you want for the "Home Page".
    Tap the "+" at the bottom of the screen and select "Save to Home Screen"
    You can then name it whatever you wish and tap Save.
    This will create an icon on the home screen that you can tap on to always open Safari to that page.

  • I updated Firefox to version 29.0.1 and now it won't let me set a home page.

    When I open Firefox, it opens to the Trovi search page, which I don't want. I tried setting the home page by opening the site that I want and dragging its tab to the Home icon, but it didn't change the home page. I also cannot change the default search engine. Selecting a different search engine in the drop-down box does nothing.

    It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or even add / mal-ware.
    Look thru your add-ons list and make sure you know what each one is
    there for. Also,
    '''''Windows > Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs.'''''
    Go thru the list and use a web search to check any that you don't
    know what they are.

  • I want to have tabs open as app tabs on startup

    I have a couple of tabs that I always use, so I pin them as app tabs. The problem is that I want to save them as my home page, but as app tabs, not regular tabs. If I open the tabs I want for my home page and press "use current pages" as home page, they open as regular tabs. Is there any way to manually specify which tabs should be app tabs and which should be regular tabs in preferences?

    Yeah, I noticed that the tabs are restored as app tabs, but doesn't that mean that there should be a way to have them as your home page as well? Showing your windows and tabs from last time isn't really the same thing. Should I file a feature request or something?
