Can I set photos as a screen saver?

Is it possible to have my photo slideshow turn on while listening to music? Can't quite figure it out and the manual won't download to my computer.

Tweaking Slideshow Settings
In the Photos menu, you'll see a listing for Slideshow Settings. This is where you can set options for your slideshow playback, such as deciding whether or not to have your slideshow play music, how long each image stays onscreen, what kind of transition to use between pictures, and more.

I understand, under Advanced, I can choose Albums to share. Then I check Share Photos From: iPhoto.
Then Select Blbums and Events.
I only have one album selected with 127 photos that I took that I would like to use as a screen saver.
However, it uses these 127 photos PLUS all the album artwork as well. This is what I do NOT want. Where do I tell it NOT to share Album artwork as in iTune album cover artwork.

How to turn off using photo library in Screen Saver?

Hi, Is there anyway to turn off screen saver (and desktop) in using my photo library (Aperture)? Currently it is using my entire photo library as screen saver and I wanted to turn it off. Clicking on the "-" button in the Screen Saver preference pane does not remove Aperture photo library from the list. I had OS 10.7.3 installed. Thanks.

The Aperture, iPhoto, and Photobooth icons stay permanently.
If you don't want to show your Aperture library, just pick a different screen saver.

In 'System Preferences' the Aperture photos are available in 'screen saver' but not 'desktop'.
Any ideas?

As far as I know, those two lists come from the same place. I've always seen them both contain the same items. However, they do not look the same for some reason. Under Desktop, I have to open several disclosure triangles before I get to my Aperture photos, but with Screen Saver, they are already open at the top level.

Random is not selected in transition or anywhere else. Unless I am missing something in the settings.

Photos appear in screen saver but i can't find them!

I have my screesaver set to show photos from users/user/pictures. the only items in that folder are an empty photo booth folder and my iphoto library. after organizing my photos and events, pictures i'm not aware of are showing up in my screen saver. i've looked all over in iphoto and can't find them. 'edit smart album' is not selectable ( i assume i have no smart albums), and 'show hidden photos' is selected. where could they be?

In the screensaver, iphoto is not bolded - i cannot select it. It seems you are trying to help me isolate the folder to make sure that that is where the hidden photos are. I played around for awhile trying to select just the iphoto folders, but screensaver is not cooperating. My instinct is that the photos are hidden somewhere in iphoto, unless they are somehow in the photo booth folder that appears empty. Thanks for your help!

I can't change my desktop or screen saver photos, what is wrong?

Mac Mini running OS X Yosemite update 10.10.2 installed 2nd Feb 2015. I went to change my desktop photo, the pane came up with the normal choice of set photos & the oblong to put the required photo into but nothing having selected a photo it would not move . I shut down the page & next time tried to get pane up a drop down notice appeared saying "cannot load desktop & screensaver pane". I tried unlocking the system preferences padlock to no avail also shutting the machine down & leaving it a few minutes. I am very careful about not opening phishing emails. The last one was From"HMRC. as far as I can see everything else is good & I have verified permissions as per disc utility. That is about the limit of my expertise.Any help would be appreciated. Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. Log out or restart the computer and test.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

If you're loading photos to drop box why do you expect to see them in iPhoto?
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Remember: we cannot see your machine. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Basic things like :
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Setting Dotmac as the Screen Saver

I been trying to set my screen saver to use dotmac as the screen saver, but I cannot get it to work. I get the following message when I test the screen saver. “Your selected subscriptions have no pictures. You can change your subscriptions by clinking options... in the Desktop & Sceen Saver preference panel.” I tried doing just that several times but it will not work.
I use dotmac as my screen saver on my other mac’s with 10.4.11 installed and they work just fine with dotmac as the screen saver but, with Leopard 10.5.1 it does not work. With 10.4, I didn’t have to enter the name of the person that publishes public slide shows. Anyone else having this same problem or anyone know what the problem is.

You must either have your own slideshow on your .mac account, or use someone else's account.
There is no default .mac slide show.
On your other computer that has a .mac slideshow, check the account name whose slideshow you are viewing and use that one.

HT204379 Why we can't use iPhoto pictures on screen saver anymore?

After years of using our personal pictures from iPhoto for our screen saver, our Mac won't let us choose iPhoto Library as our source for the screen saver anymore. Does anyone know why this happened? When I choose a folder, the iPhoto Library is dim and won't allow it as a selection. Photo Booth is an option, but not iPhoto Library. This has been our screen saver for years. I didn't change it and don't know why the change occurred. And now I can't figure out how to change it back.

Adding Photos to Mac Screen saver files

Hi,
I'd like to add some additional photos to the "Cosmos" screen saver file that came with my MacBook Pro but I can't find this file through Finder in order to add my photos.
Has anyone any idea if it's possible, and if so, how ?

Used to work, as in the past I added a batch of my own stuff to the Cosmos saver. As I recall I also edited some file that was there to list my additions (that might have been in Panther), Didn't see such a file in the Leopard Cosmos saver, so what I did was just rename my own astro photos to the same thing that was already there, then dragged my files into the Resources folder replacing what was there with mine. I just added some more, bringing my total up to "Cosmos18" and it still works fine. You'll probably want to repair permissions from Disk Utility afterwards.

Don't feel to bad. If your system has as much junk in the way of photos on it as mine does, it is easy to miss. I was almost in the same boat until I looked again.

Go into settings - screensaver. Your computer must be on and running iTunes. Select your photo library and it will start transferring. Note: only a small portion is cached to the device, typically around 100 photos.

In the screen saver preference panel if you selected them from (Choose Folder / Pictures / iPhoto Library / Originals) then you have selected the original files as there were downloaded from the source (camera, cd, web what ever). Go to iPhoto and create a New Album and drag the photos you want to use for the screensaver to it, then from the screensaver preference panel scroll down and select that album.

Can't set photo duration I want in iMovie

I have inserted a load of photos at the end of a video and I can't set the duration. If i input 0.10sec it jumps down to 0.05sec. Also if I am dragging the yellow handle in the project window and want to set a time of 0.50sec the timing goes straight from 0.29sec to 1.00sec. I have no transitions in the video or beat markers.
Any ideas?

30 frames = 1 sec of video (NTSC)
the digits behind the . are not tenths but frames ...
