Can I set the MTU size for the Airport Extreme?

Can I change the MTU size setting of the Airport? How would this be possible? In my Linksys router I was able to change this.

Since the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) does not modify the packets in any way. So as neptune2000 stated, there is no MTU setting. Whatever MTU your computer broadcasts with is unchanged by the AEBS.
You will need to configure the MTU on the computer sending the packets.

The answer for Swing applications is yes this can be done.
I don't know how to do it for AWT components.

Your iPod touch running OS 4.2 has a ZOOM feature which will enable you to see the screen more clearly.

Web pages come out tiny, I must use control + to view every page. How can I set a defult size for every page I vivit?

After upgrading to 3.6 all the web pages come out tiny. The text and the pictures. I must use the Ctrl + in order to make the web page fill my screen. What do I have to do to set a default size for every web site I visit?

Correct MTU Size For The E4200 Using DSL?

I wanted to verify the correct MTU size manual setting for the E4200 using DSL. I was told by an uninterested Linksys Tech that the correct MTU size should be manual at 1375. I am running firmware v1.0.01 Basically, I have a Mac wired to the E4200 and 2 wireless Computers. I would like to get the best Internet speed that I can, both wired and wireless. How can I set a default zoom for the browser (freeze it)?

Hello, there's an option of using the Ctrl + + to zoom the Web page, but it reverts to the Firefox default zoom in the midst which is very annoying. Generally, I'd like to be able to set a certain default zoom level and then only if needed use the CTRL +/- zoom in and out options. So my optimal zoom level is used for all my browsing unless I change it.

I have listed 2 add-ons below for you to consider. I have not used NoSquint, but I use and rely on Default FullZoom Level.

Can't set a new size to the JTable =(( HELP!!

Hey everyone, gosh im so tired of this :( ..im still trying but i cant do what i wanted.
Here's the issue:
The problem of Editable is solved , just set to table.Enabled(false); done :)

In a 2D coordinate system the horizontal values are represented by some letter, usually x. In the same coordinate system the vertical values are classically represented by y.
Note: In your code, if you wish, you can replace x and y with anything you desire--p and q or perhaps jeff and alice or any variable name you wish, but for simplicity, and usually ease of understanding because almost everyone has had 100's of math problems drilled into their head with (x, y), x and y are used as convention.
In Java the screen coordinates run from 0 to the width-1 for x and 0 to height-1 for y of the component you are using to display.
So logically when you have a value of x or y that goes beyond the addressable bounds of your display, then you have to make some type of adjustment--when your value dips below 0, you reset it to 0, when your value goes above what ever width-1 or height-1 then you have to set that value to width-1 or height-1.
This all assumes that when you hit the wall, floor, or ceiling you stick there until you change directions--if you wish to wrap then you set your value to the opposite bound--so if you go below 0, you would then pop out back in on the right side--your appropriate x would be set to width-1 instead of 0 and in the case of y going below 0 your y would be set to height-1. This is also to say that when you descend below your minimum, then you would pop back out on the opposite side you went out on--so x greater then width-1 would get set to 0 and y greater than height-1 would get set to 0.
That is not even a start on if you want to include elastic collisions, angle of impact, any type of deceleration force, or anything else.
In any case... I would recommend that you add more math to your studies, I've never met an engineer or computer science grad that said: "Wow, I really regret taking all that math in college (or HS), I never use it."

Set ONLY the font size for the target PCs

I know that I must include a custom ini file to specify font name AND size for target PCs (the ones where the EXE runs).
For example

systemFont="Tahoma" 13
Is there a way to specify only the font size and not the name? (i.e. I want to use the specific font for a given PC, but I want to set its size).
I tried with
appFont= 13
but this setting is ignored.
When I used
appFont= "0" 13
the size was correctly set, but what does the "0" mean?

Yes I believe this will work.
You could confirm by the fact,
The default Application font is the Message Box Font which is Segoi UI and Tahoma for Windows VISTA and XP machines respectively. To verify this this on a Windows XP machine, complete the following steps:
Open Start»Settings»Control Panel»Display
On the Appearance tab, press Advanced
Select Message Box from the Item: pull-down menu
The font is displayed in the Font: pull-down menu
.. does the font change between "0" and Tahoma for example..

I am trying to find the tap size for the A1342 m4.3 Case Cover screws

I seem to be having a hard time finding out what the thread size is for the 922-9903 screws used in the A1342 Macbook. I know it list's them as 4.3mm but I would like a bottoming tap to chase the back threads. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks too all for your input. BP

Sounds as though you need to contact an actual service technician or other person with technical knowledge of the product; so maybe someone with that background may be able to get back to you on this...

There is this little place in South Carolina that does fix things, and may be looking into a processor overheat sensor issue in my early macbook 13" 1.83GHz coreduo, & also replace a switch or cable to a flickering backlit display. I figure the thermo-couple to heatsink needs a cleanup and arctic paste applied, while its there for the display issue.
Hopefully this helps, since these kind of questions seldom get a rise here.

Can you set a max size for a folder on a file server

I've got a G5 Xserve that I'm using as a file server running 10.3.9. I need more space on my array so I bought bigger drives and will move the data to the new, larger array.
For the health of my drives, I want my array to maintain at least 10% free space so I would like for the people using the shares to only see 90% of the larger space. (I don't want to have to be the 'drive space' policeman 6 months from now when the RAID fills up again)
I know I could create 2 partitions in diskutil but I'd like something more dynamic.
Ideally I'd like to put my shared folders inside of a main folder and tell Server to only display 90% of the size of the partition when a folder from the partition is mounted remotely. That way people won't know there is a quota which keeps them from trying to copy data into a share that shows 10% free space.
The shares are used by both macs and PCs so I'd rather not go with a solution based upon network protocol.

There's no way I'm aware of to artificially display a different capacity/available space than what's actually there. If it's a 1TB volume, it's a 1TB volume and the OS isn't going to report that as 900GB.
The only other solutions I can think of is to either enable quotas which will let you restrict the amount of disk space any user can consume, or attach a folder action to the volume where the script automatically checks the volume size whenever new files are added and takes action at the appropriate time (you need to define what that action is, though).
