Can I share documents between two computers?

Hello All:
I have two computers (MB Pro and MB Air), an iPad and and iPhone, and now I have converted everything over to iCloud. My calendars and mail sync across all devices no problem. But, I want to be able to sync my documents the same way across all devices. Is this possible?
As an example, I want to create a Pages document on my MB Air and save it to iCloud. Then, I want to be able to open in from my MB Pro without having the iPad in between.
Please tell me this is doable.

By account I take it you mean computer account, not iTunes Store account. You can't currently share items between multiple store accounts though you can share it between computer accounts. Also read about changes in forthcoming iOS8.

How to share documents between two macs,

I NEED TO SHARE documents between two macs....keynote dcts.....and I always want to be working with the last dct, what is the esiest and safer way to do it ?

Ok I have three macs sharing mobile me. One at work that´s a imac,at home my old Mack book Pro with a big monitor and now I got a beautiful Mac Book Air.
The two computers at home can be connected wireless,I have a time capsule disk that at this moment is only backing up my MBPro. I will use my MBA for everyday use,mails,navigating and for lecturing....with keynote. Basically the documents that I need to share daily will be keynote dcts. And may be some apperture projects.
All the mails calendars etc work beautiful with mobileme.
I don´t really need to conect the imac at work.
Any ideas to make things easy?
If I work only wit dcts does are about 400 KB. If I use my folder of preentations is about 42 GB, I think I just need to work with dcts....

If you want to copy the file between users you can use the Public folder in your home directories. If you put something in the Public folder other users can see it and copy it out if they want to send something to you they can copy it into your Public/Drop Box folder.
If you both want to be able to work on the same document you could use the /Users/Shared folder which is read/write for all users.

How can I share data between two forms on different lists

Using a custom content type, I created two lists that I want to share the same data - one is a calendar. Our employees complete a form from the "Out of Office Request" list that has workflow functionality that sends an email to that person's
manager. If the manager approves the request, the item automatically populates the "Out of Office Calendar." The problem is that the only information from the request list that populates the calendar is the Title field and date/time fields.
I need the manager name in order to create a view for each manager.
How can I connect the other information in the request list to the calendar list. It seems to me that if the title and date fields carry over the information, there should be a way to connect the other information. I'm using Designer.
I've tried to connect the two lists' webparts with the wizard, but when I get to the page that maps the two lists, there are no column names and the "Next >" button is grayed out. This seems like the logical place to connect the two lists,
but it isn't working.

To show external information on the calendar event, there are two methods: Calculated column, workflow. You can refer to:
A Simple Guide to Show More Information on a Calendar Event
I recommend to use workflow to achieve what you want. But you need to create a people column to display the manager.
You can create a workflow associated to the "Out of Office Request" list, add action to Start Approve Process. If the manager approves the request, you can create a item in the calendar, and then update the people column and the title column.
Then the calendar will display the Title, date/time and the manager.
To create a view for each manager, you need to modify the Filter. You can use the people column is equal to the manager name or the Title contains the manager name.

It appears that I can not share documents between my iMacs and mac air without first opening document in an IOS device. Is this correct? If so then iCloud for me is a giant step backward especially since idisk will be discontinued next year.

iwork on iOS uses different file formats ( *.tef ) then iwork09 on Mac ( *.key , *. number , *.page ).
Uploaded documents to icloud.com must first be updated to the *.tef format and then re-written to the cloud system. I am trying to share my ICAL with my wife and she wants to do the same with me. For some reason I cannot find the path to allow us to see each otjer's calendars. Any ideas?

Can I share files between two different networks at same location?

Until TWC can offer DOCSIS 3.0 later this year or next...
- In my home I have a closet where all my audio, video and network come together.
- I have two cable modems from Time Warner
- Modem A goes to a WRT320N; 192.168.0.1
-- This router connects all my "heavy" downloads, ie. DirecTV receivers, Netflix, home server w/videos, gaming, etc.
- Modem B goes to a E2000; 192.168.1.1
-- This router connects my everyday use computers so they don't suffer poor speeds from all the traffic on Modem A
My question is, how or can I somehow share files between these two routers without the need for hitting the modems? Obviously I can just push files over the Internet but I am doing it at a much slower speed due to upload restrictions on the modem.

The easiest way would be to assign LAN IP 192.168.1.2 to the WRT320N and disable the DHCP server. Then assign static IP addresses in 192.168.1.* to all devices connected to the WRT at the moment, e.g. 192.168.1.10, 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.2, DNS 192.168.1.2 (or DNS servers of your ISP).
Now you can connect a LAN port of the WRT to a LAN port of the E2000. All DHCP clients get the IP address from the E2000 which will assign the E2000 as gateway, i.e. they use the E2000 for internet. All other devices will have static IP addresses and use the WRT as gateway.

hi. we have an imac and a macbook connected to the internet with airport express. all is well with that, but i'd like to be able to share files between the two computers. it seems like i should be able to, but i can't figure out how. can someone help?

Yes. You just need to enable "Personal File Sharing" on both Macs.
o System Preferences > Sharing > Services tab

I know you can share the library with 'home share', but can you copy the titles to the account sothey can be loaded on to an ipod / iphone?
Or have i got to load any required music on to the computer a second time?

Note that when it says "publicly accessible location", it needs to be a place where everyone has read and write access. The most common such place is the Shared folder in the Users folder, but you can place the music elsewhere if you change the access permissions manually (don't start tinkering with permissions unless you're confident you know what you're doing and can reverse things if they get messed up).

How to Best Share Music Between Two Computers

My wife and I have two computers with two different iTunes libraries. We'd like to share music. What's the most time efficient way to authorize our respective computers for each other's songs?
I think I could go to the various folders in the file system on my wife's computer, copy each song I want, and store it in a new folder on my own computer. But this seems really time consuming for 500 songs. Is there a faster way, like importing directly from her library after I've enabled it to share?

Unless both computers are on all the time then each computer will need its own copy of any music in the iTunes library. An external neetwork drive may be a good option. Set both computers' iTunes to store music there then the files will be available to both at any time. If that is not an option then you will need to continue copying files from one machine to the other.

Out of curiosity do you already have a home network? If so do both computers connect to the network? In this case just use File Sharing which is enabled in the Sharing preferences.

I can't import music between two computers.

The grey settings/import bar that used to be at the bottom is no longer there, and I cannot figure out how to either open that bar up or import them another way. Both computers are authorized for the same account. Acutally, both are authorized to the same two accounts! How can I get the cd's I imported to one to sync the other, like I used to before I updated both computers' iTunes.

Yes you need to have both computers authorised to play content or be able to import from one machne to the other.
The Import buttons are controlled by how you set up the home Share.
File > Home Sharing > Create Home Share Enter Apple ID and password. You MUST use the same apple id here for both computers irrespective of what they are authorised with or what that machine uses to login to iTunes.
So it could be a third Apple id you use for nothing else but it must be the same

How can I synchronize Documents between two Macs

My early 2007 iMac has been hospitalized for over two weeks waiting for a new logic board from Apple. I have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro to use in the meantime, but have never synchronized the two machines, so many files that I want/need are not available. When the iMac gets back home, I would like to copy the complete Documents fiolder from the iMac to the MacBook and then find some way of keeping them synchronized in the future. (Both my machines are running OS X 10.7.2.)
