I recently plugged in his phone and downloaded all the music from his apple id, music he had purchased. I have a different apple id. Can he share it with me? Would I be able to get it on my phone? Also, with home sharing on my apple TV- Can I turn them both on and get the music form both accounts or do I have to use one at a time?
Put all of the music in one itunes library and sync the idevices to that library

Can I Share the itune music that I purchase with my husband even if we have different Apple ID passwords?
No, you cannot have the same primary email address used for two separate Apple IDs.
However, you can sign into the same email address on your separate devices for the purposes of receiving mail. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts & Calendars > Add Account.
Apple IDs are for using Apple services, like the App Store, iTunes, etc.
Email addresses (while used as the NAME of an Apple ID), are separate entities. -
When my husband bought IPhone 4S last year like mine we could not sync it and share our business email account and 250 business contacts. It wiped out everything in my IPhone and was a mess. Can you share an email account and contacts between two IPhones? Only thing is, we don't want each other's music. He still uses an old fashion phone because we can't be a two-IPhone household (home-based business) and share the same emails and contact information. What's up with that?

Yes.

Not sure I understand. You can set it up however you like.
You can certainly share contacts and e-mail while not sharing anything else.
Ope itunes, connect iphone, select the contact program/service that you would like, select the calendar service program and calendars, select the music, photos, apps, books, etc, sync. Set up whtever e-mail address(es) you like on the iphone itself.
Do the same for all of the other idevces that you like. -
Since getting an iPad at Xmas , we facetimed a mutual contact on the ipad , now messages I send from my iPhone 3GS to that contact show up on my husbands iPhone 4 . He does use my iCloud and iTunes account as we share music . How can I stop my messages going to his iPhone ?
Hello lisa.burton35,
If what you want to do is share your purchases with one Apple ID and have other stuff separate, that's pretty easy.
Check out the section "Use one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store purchases" in this article.
Set up your Apple ID for iCloud and iTunes - Apple Support
Basically he would use your Apple ID for the Stores (iTunes, Apps, iBooks) and his Apple ID for everything else (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, FaceTime, Messages etc).
Now if he has been purchasing stuff on his own account then you would have to make some choices on the purchase accounts.
You may also want to check out Family Sharing, which allows people to share purchases within a familly, each having their own IDs.

How to Use Multiple iDevices with One Computer -
Can I access my husband's iTunes acct. from my iPad? i have his permission & pass code. We want to keep all music in one place & family accessible.
If you log into his account and download some of his past purchases on your iPad then you risk tying your iPad to his account for 90 days : iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
But it looks like that might change when iOS 8 is released in the Autumn (no date has been announced yet) : http://www.apple.com/ios/ios8/family-sharing/
If you have his content in your computer's iTunes library then you could sync it from there instead of risking the 90 days association on your iPad. If you don't then you could copy it from his computer and then sync it to your iPad e.g. copy his music to a flash drive and then add it to your library via File > Add To Library -
My husband and I have two different tastes in music....do we have to have two different itunes accounts, or can we somehow share the account (itunes cards, credit card....payment options) but have two different setups??? How does this affect things if you use icloud??

DanielleIf it is in your itunes on your computer, then select it to sync just like everything else that you sync.
The music must be on your computer.

How can I share my itunes music from my pc to my mac
I have an itunes account and have purchased music from my desktop pc. I recently acquired an ipod AND an old Powerbook G4. The G4 has music (that was purchased via itunes from that computer) when my Dad had it. I managed to load the ipod with his music library and now I would like to add my library from itunes on my pc. When I go to my itunes on my pc I now see that Dad's music appears there as "shared". How can I now share my music onto the itunes account that appears on the G4? (so that I can then download it onto the iPod).
All the items you purchased are in your iTunes library. Just go on your computer click on the start menu then music after that you will see iTunes music and samPle music then u click on iTunes music you will see it if anything my numbe is 3477039111

I have an iphone 5s and an ipad that both use my apple id. Last week, my 2 kids got iphones so they are also using my id. Should we create separate apple/icloud ids for them or should we all use mine? Can we continue to share music from itunes if we have separate ones? I'm really not sure of the best way to handle this and I don't want to screw anything up! I really appreciate any help! Thanks so much!
There can be more than one Apple IDs for one iPhone, and each ID will be responsible for its own functions. You could, for example, set up one for iCloud, which will contain your contacts, calendars, settings, your backups, etc. But at the same time you could have another Apple ID for purchasing your apps, so when you buy or get free app, App Store will ask you for Apple ID and you can enter another ID that is not the same that keeps your backups and settings.
If you want to separate your sons iPhone from your ID completely, you can change it in iCloud settings. Also it will make your children's life a lot easier. -
How can My husband and I share music we have purchased through the itunes store? We each have an itunes account. I have turned on home sharing but do not know how to save his music (which was originally my music) to my iphone. Thanks!!

iTunes: Understanding Home Sharing -
I just got a new laptop, and need to share my itunes account from my previous laptop to this one.
Both laptops have updated Itunes accounts and are authorised and home shared.
However, on the new one it has only transferred across my Itunes store bought songs, not any of the other 800 songs from downloads or cds that i have put on.
How can i get these onto my laptop without using an external drive?
Thanks.Unless you subscribe to itunes match, icloud has nothing to do with music. Are you syncing music from a computer's itunes to a device?

You can have one icloud account and a different itunes account on the phone. I have my icloud account and a shared itunes account. He does not have to use the new icloud account as is ID in itunes and app store. He can keep using the old one.

How can I put music from my itunes on to my husband's phone but NOT backup his phone on my computer
How can I put music from my computer on to my husband's Iphone without doing a backup of his phone on my computer? All I want to do is add music to his iphone for him...not backup or sync his phone... thanks
Does your husband have his own computer/iTunes account? If so, the easiest way is to turn on Home Sharing, transfer whatever you want from your library to his library & then sync it to his phone on his computer:
