Can I share my DeskJet 722C connected to a Windows XP Desktop with a 64 bit Windows 7 HP ProBook?

I was able to directly connect my HP DeskJet 722c with my new HP ProBook (S-series), running on 64-bit Windows 7, after following directions on this site.  But now I would like to permanently re-connect the DeskJet to my 32-bit Sony Desktop computer, running on Windows XP, and be able to share that printer on my wireless network with my HP ProBook laptop.  Can you help me?

This can be done by sharing the printer on the XP system and adding it to the Windows 7 system using a Windows Update driver.
The first part is to install and share the printer on the Windows XP system.
To share the printer on the XP system, follow the steps in this document from Microsoft.  I recommend using something simple for the printer share name as it will need to be entered on the Windows 7 system.
The next step is adding the printer to the Windows 7 computer.  Make sure to uninstall the printer from the Windows 7 computer before continuing.
1.  Go to Start>Devices and Printers.
2.  Click on Add a printer at the top.
3.  While it is a networked printer, it is not the current network standard printer.  Select Add a local printer.
4.  Select Create a new port with a local port for type.
5.  Enter \\<host computer name>\<printer name> without the < > symbols.  The host computer name is the name of the computer that has the printer attached to it.  If you do not know that name, go to the host computer and go to Start>Right-click Computer (My Computer on XP)>Properties.  The computer name will be listed here.  The printer's share name was selected in a previous step in the Microsoft article.
6.  Click Ok and the printer driver screen will appear.  Click on Windows Update to ensure it is the most current list.
7.  Select the printer model from that list.
8.  Follow the rest of the prompts.
At the end of these steps, the printer should be shared from the host computer to the other Windows 7 computers.
Let me know what happens.

Can we share our photos in the family on different mac´s with Time Capsule?

It depends on the size and number of photos you are sharing around.
Nothing wrong with putting a copy of the photos on the TC if that works for you. Each person can access the photo just fine like that.
I am not saying don't.. just beware of the risks so do it prudently..
But if the library is too large, you will steal space on the TC that should be used for backups.. if all the computers in the network are backing up to it, don't use too much of the spare space.
Better to buy a firewire drive (or USB but firewire 800 are much faster) and connect it to a computer that is regularly turned on. Share that drive to the network. It will then also be backed up correctly to the TC although again be careful of the amount of files, and still keep a straight copy backup somewhere else.
I am recent convert so workflow on the Mac is not my forte.. so perhaps some of the wiser heads can also drop in and post a reply.

uninstall pse 10 (properly using the adobe uninstaller).
clean - Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
then try reinstalling using the adobe installation file(s).
if you see an activation count error while trying to reinstall contact adobe support, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

  • P1102w Can't get Installed On Windows 7 Desktop with wireless

My Laser Jet P1102w has worked find with my children's Window 7 laptops.  My spouse got a Windows machine desktop with wireless and I cannot get it to work with this printer.  I used the disc with the software download.   I get to where you plug it into the computer and it does not recognise it at all.   I checked the USB ports, it sees the flash drive I plug in.  The laptops still see the printer plugged into the USB port.  I uninstalled everything, tried the download on line, unistalled everything, tried it all again, unplugged the printer numerous times to reset.  Any ideas?
I am adding this later in the day:
I got it to work!  I erased all downloads for hp, uninstalled all hp programs, shut down the computer and the printer (also unplugged the printer).  Started up the computer, put the driver disc in, selected the network printer option for wifi, reinstalled without plugging in the printer.  I am so glad it works finally after hours of working on this.  Just wanted to add what worked for any who have this issue.

Hi guys!  Had the same issue with a client.  Just found the solutions brainstorming (and the red bull helped!!)  This is tested on a Windows x64 machine sharing the printer on the network and attempting to connect via a Windows XP machine.  The printer has been previously shared amongst other Windows 7 x64 machine successfully.
The solution is to install the HP Universal Printer Driver - PCL5 version on the machine where the printer is connected locally FOR THE SAME PRINTER THUS CREATING A SECOND PRINTER USING THE UNVERSAL DRIVER.
After downloading the file, it will unzip and start the installation.  Choose the existing printer using the same port ( it will say ie DOT4 - HP Laserjet 2200).  Once it completes, unclick [ ] Set as default and complete the operation.  Now go to the Printers listing.  Under the HP Lasterjet 2200 printer there should be two printers listed - one using the Windows 7 x64 biut driver and the other using the HP Universal driver
Now, on the Windows XP machine, use the same Universal Printer Drviver and find the printer by browsing the network for the computer.  You should see the HP Universal Printer.  Select it and continue with the installation.  Once completed, print a test page.    PRESTO!!!
Hope it works.  In the middle of a my runs so if you need more elaboration, give me a bit to answer back.

    no.
airport express does not support connecting external drives to it. essentially, it's printers only.

Can I create a Personal Hotspot with an iPad model MC349LL?  I do not see the option under the General/Network settings.  I am using iOs 5.1.1.

You can't, the personal hotspot function is only available on the iPad 3 onwards, it's not supported on the first gen iPad.

  • Can't Share Photos in iPhoto 2 10.3 as I did with 10.2.8

Can anyone help? I have searched the discussions an have not been able to resolve this issue. We had always been able to share one iPhoto library over our school network so that all teachers can add to it with the photos they have taken. We recently moved to 10.3.9 (from 10.2.8) on most of our machines and are no longer able to use iPhoto.
We had our shared library located on the fileserver in Users>Shared>Pictures and when a teacher attached the camera to a machine it would prompt them for their login and password and once logged in to the fileserver all was good. This was until we moved up to 10.3.9 from 10.2. Now when you attach a camera iPhoto tries to launch but then says it can't find the Library and you should "mount the volume iPhoto Library" and gives you only one option to quit. This is even if you have already logged in prior to launching iphoto or attaching a camera. Under 10.2 we an option to find library and that is gone, so I have no way to tell iphoto to go look for the library.
Have we lost our wonderful way of all using the same library?
Can anyone out there please help, our school would love to get this working again. If you need more info from me, please let me know. Thank you to anyone that might be able to help out.
    Mike

Were you able to delete photos from the new library that you created?  If not then try this:  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

  • How can I share iBooks or Kindle books on my wife's iPad with my MacBook Pro?

I was told that I could share books purchased on my wife's IPad Mini (IOS 7.1) on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.9.4) in some way, but I can't see how to do it.  I've tried logging out of my iBooks account, for example, on the Mac, and logging in to her account, which is what they said to do, but that doesn't work.

Can't help with the iBooks issue (sounds like you tried the right thing) but for Kindle, you need to download "Kindle for Mac" from Amazon and log into the same account that your wife uses. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=kcp_mac_ln_ar?docId=1000464931

  • Can I export to Windows Media 1080p with same quality as Windows Live Movie Maker?

I am looking to replace Windows Live Movie Maker, because of the following:
    it keeps crashing
it has occasional problems with audio sync when I use MTS source files
it has very limited editing features (especially inability to increase audio levels for a clip)
However, I would like to still render to 1080p Windows Media files for archiving. Does anyone know if there are settings I could use in Premiere to export to 1080p and get equivalent quality to WLMM?  I have failed to find a combination of settings in Premiere that doesn't mess up the video with horizontal lines during motion.  Here is an example:
When I use the 1080p export setting in WLMM, the video comes out looking essentially the same as the original MTS files, like in this snapshot:
However, I have failed to find any settings in Premiere Elements that will give an equivalent result.  Below is a snapshot from the Windows Media file I exported from Premiere:
And these are the settings I used:
    My Equipment:
    Canon Vixia HF200
    Windows 7 x64
    AMD Phenom II x4 945 3Ghz

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for the response.  I did go back and verify the project setting, and I think I was originally using the wrong project settings.  This is what I'm using now for the project:
And then to share, I went to Personal Computer -> WMV, and selected these advanced settings:
Unfortunately, I still see the jagged horizontal lines like the original screenshot I posted.  I tried playing with other video export settings (constant bit rate, at 8,000 and 20,000 also), and with variable constrained/unconstrained output.  I'm really at a loss for what is going on.  I did confirm that it doesn't have the horizontal lines if I encode to MPEG, but the WMV problem persists.

Is your AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) the older 802.11b/g (domed-shaped) or newer 802.11n (square-ish) model? Regardless of model, which wireless encryption standard: WEP, WPA, or WPA2 are you using? Finally, which Service Pack level is your XP Pro running: SP1, SP2, or SP3?

    Yes.
