Can I Share Specific Mission Control Desktop?

I am looking to share only a specific Mission Control desktop on another Mac. I am including a screenshot graphic because it's difficult to describe.
As you can see, I have 4 Mission Control desktops, and want to screen share the red one only with a different Mac.
Does anyone know how this might be done, or recommend an extension that could facilitate this?
Mac OS 10.7.5 Lion.
Thanks.

Try target disk mode:

Other wise use a USB thumb drive or a HDD to transfer them.
Ciao.

  • Folders for Mission Control Desktops

    I think this would be a solution for seperate folders for Mission Control Desktops!
    It would be very useful to be able to choose visibility for folders. What I mean is if I have different desktops on mission control then I could have separate folders for different desktops. I realize that if a desktop gets deleted this would cause problems and those folders would get deleted, but wonder if you created a mission control main folder where all folders on the hard drive are located and then you can go into that folder and choose visibility options. Like I have a school desktop and a work desktop so I could "right click>get info>" and  so I would choose ~/work_Desktop not just ~/Desktop. This would allow for people to literally feel like they had separate computers for work, personal, etc.. PLEASE consider this!! It would take mac to a different level and superior to PCs.
    Do you think this would work?

    This is intriguing, not least of all because the semantic problem of using the word "desktop" to refer to completely different things has made some people pretty grumpy
    I use compulsively pushing the envelope of my work environment as a way to keep my scripting skills in shape, and so I couldn't resist doing a quick proof-of-concept to see if implementing what you want is possible without hacking anything that an average users shouldn't touch.  There's a very workable solution at the level of what I think of as "elegant band-aids."  I can see it would even possible to have it both ways - a desktop shared between all spaces and one that's unique to each space.
    It is.  It's not even difficult - it requires understanding a few simple concepts, basic familiarity with Automator, enabling the root account on your system and about 5 lines of AppleScript that I've already written and tested.
    I'm going to do it for my own use, but if anyone else wants it, just ask and I'll type up the instructions.  If enough people want it, I'll write a script to automate it.  lleH, if there's a clamor, I'll write an little app.  I can understand why Apple would choose not to implement it in the interest of elegance and simplicity, but also understand why expert users would like to complicate matters just a bit.

    Where can I go to get a supported version of mission control desktop for Netscape 6.x mail client? Is 4.5 the only version available?

  • Querying the Mission Control Desktop that is currently showing (AppleScript, ASOC, or OBJC)?

    Does anyone know a way in Lion to query which Mission Control Desktop is currently showing, when using either AppleScript, ASOC, or OBJC?
    I want to write a utility (either a script or a program) whose behavior depends on which Desktop is currently showing on the screen.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How can I fix Dock/Mission Control/Launchpad? (Glitch)

    General Description
    Mission Control and Launchpad glitch when invoked (whether by using the mouse or trackpad gesture). They seems to crash or quit, and then relaunch themselves (/itself - all the same app?), I know this because:
    they both, as well as Dock, become unresponsive;
    the desktop background images disappear temporarily (being replaced by blank light or dark grey);
    the Mission Control animation stops/freezes and does not execute properly (the windows stay still);
    Dock becomes unresponsive as well as Launchpad.
    This happens a lot (every other invokation) and seems to be random; it's annoying and is ruining my workflow, since I am a heavy user of multiple desktops.
    Behaviour
    I usually have over ten desktops, all with active apps open at one time; when it glitches I can't even open or switch applications, though I can use the ones that are on the current desktop (if was trying to use Mission Control).
    There is no correlation with the glitch and the amount of applications open, or how much RAM or CPU is active (still happens with only a few light apps open and a few desktops).
    It does not matter whether I am using more than one monitor, the glitch still occurs.
    It does not happen due to a particular open application, as I have tested with nothing open at all straight after a restart.
    Possible and tested causes
    An application might be corrupting the glitchy app(s), since the disk breaks after being repaired in Safe Boot mode. Once the disk has been repaired, the glitch doesn't seem to occur until a few applications have been opened, though I haven't tested this much. (I am suspecting TheBrain, but not sure. Other potential culprits: Chrome, Mail, Firefox, Spotify, Skype, Dictionary, Activity Monitor, Finder).
    It isn't the operating system itself because I have reinstalled it from Safe Boot mode, and yet the glitch persists.
    The application(s) affected by the glitch may be corrupted, and need reinstalled - that is, if they weren't already by reinstalling the operating system (they are in the '/System/CoreServices' folder).
    Not-so-possible:
    I doubt it is a virus - it would be a pretty pointless glitch for one to cause.
    I have Time Machine running most of the time, but I have no reason to believe that is the cause.
    I am using a NEET mini display port to HDMI adapter for my second monitor (no idea how that could be causing the issue).
    Help
    Any ideas on what I could do to fix this?
    And does anyone know how to reinstall Mission Control, Dock and Launchpad (I think they are all part of '/System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app')? This might be worth a try.
    Specifications (just in case)
    2010 Macbook Pro
    2.8 GHz Intel i7
    8 GB memory
    500 GB HD (two thirds full)
    Thanks for any help!

    One thing I'd like for you to try: Create a new user account. Log into the new account and see if the same problems persist.
    Many times such crashes are the result of corrupted preference or cache files. The above will eliminate these in the user account but not at the system level. So, I suggest you use a utility such as Lion Cache Cleaner 6.0.11 or Purity 1.10 to clear out cache files at the system level. I've never used the latter software but I, personally, use the former one on my computers.

  • Mac randomly creates Mission Control desktops

    Hi there!
    I have recently installed a fresh copy of OS X Yosemite, and everything is running nice and fast. BUT, one issue whihc is more annoying than anything, but I'm sure it causing some performance drain, is desktops are randomly being created in Mission Control....I don't even use this feature.
    The issue occurred before I fresh installed Yosemite, leading me to think it must be one of the apps I have kept, but I'm not sure.
    The only app that has an icon in the top menu bar and starts at startup is BetterTouchTool.
    Any ideas please?
    Max

    Are you running those apps in Full Screen and possibly closing one or the other, then re-opening at a later time?
    Full Screen programs become desktops of their own, and are placed into the queue at the time they are Full Screened. I don't believe they hold their position like the Desktops do.

    I am trying to share songs from my iTunes account to my husbands. I am on my Macbook and he is on the desktop. We both followed the directions given through iTunes but we are still unable to import from each other. Have you cross-authorized your computers in both directions?

  • Can't share RealPlayer from my desktop

    I have two questions about RealPlayer which I have been using successfully:
    1. The application resides on my desktop. Shouldn't it be in my applications folder? It won't let me move it there because "it can't be modified".
    2. I'd like to allow the other users of my computer to use RealPlayer without having to download additional copies for each user. How do I do that?
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    Paul,
    What I believe what Niel was saying is that since you have an administrative account, you can drag the application into the application folder so everyone can use it. If you are still getting the same message, press the control key (ctrl) and click on the application. Then go to Get Info. A window should appear with information about the application. Go to the bottom where it says Ownership and Privileges. You are going to want to make sure that it says Read and Write, if not you need to use an administrative name and password to unlock the application so you can change it to Read and Write. You might want to read this Knowledge Base Document on Setting Permissions for disks, folders, and files.
    I hope this helps,
    Jon

  • Thunderbird Mission Control Desktop/AutoConfig not working for some users

    I have the file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\defaults\pref\custom.js"
    It contains:
    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);
    pref("general.config.filename", "TMcustom.cfg");
    I have the file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\TMcustom.cfg"
    It contains:
    var promptService = Components.classes["@mozilla.org/embedcomp/prompt-service;1"]
    .getService(Components.interfaces.nsIPromptService);
    promptService.alert(null, "title", "testing");
    For most of my users the alert pops up fine when I start Thunderbird, but for a few it doesn't. All of the machines where setup with the same install script. If I log into one of the machines where it's not working as a different user, then it works fine, so I know the files are in the right spot. So why would it not work for specific users? Is there something in the user's Windows profile that could cause it to not work? Or are there any other suggestions?

    As it turns out this was a known bug that was corrected in the recent release of Java 7_65 and Java 8_11. Here is a link to the bug description in the database.

  • Can you share specific apps with other devices under same Apple ID?  ...or do you need to enable he sharing of all apps that have been downloaded under that ID?

    My family has multiple devices under one apple ID.  I want to share only certain apps with certain family members.  Is it possible to limit what apps are shared with which devices or do I need to share all of the apps that I download for personal use?

    Thanks.  I turned off the automatic downloads on the new devices (minis), but when I go into the app store I don't see any of the apps I have bought (for my original iPad) under "purchased".  I was thinking that this was the logical place to find those apps that I want to download to the new devices.  What am aI missing?
