Can I ship an iPhoto Book from Australia to China?

I have made an iPhoto book for my friends in China, detailing the good times we had over the years.
Can I order it and give the address in China, in Chinese?
It seems a waste to have it mailed to me and then for me to mail it again.

That option is not available.

  • How can I copy an iPhoto book from one Mac to another?

I'm wanting to copy an iPhoto book from one MBP (OS 10.7.3) to another (10.8.3). Is there an easy way to do it?

You will have to copy the entire iPhoto Library to the other Mac as the library is a virtual entity in the library recorece in the database files.
Once it's been copied launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and select the libary in the window that appears.  I
NOTE:  if the new Mac has  newer iPhoto version than the old Mac check to make sure it has the same theme that you used in the book.  There were some changes in themes from iPhoto 8 (09) to iPhoto 9 (11).  If your new iPhoto doesn't have the same theme you may want to complete the book on the old Mac.

  • Ordering iPhoto books from Australia

Although a year ago Steve Jobs announced iphoto books were now available "world wide" he left Australia way down under! and living here in Sydney I cant order iphoto books without a US credit card. So, my question, Who would like to be my iphoto book buddy? Im looking for someone stateside who I can send my iphoto files to with money and have them order a book for me from there own Macs. Any one out there?
PS I'll send you my own photos of kangaroos, echidnas, cockatoos etc as a bonus for being a helpful, unseen friend!

Although the site says you need a US credit card, you don't and you can use an Australian Credit card just fine, you have to fudge the state and zip code but a bit of crativity will fix that. Helps if you use a different e-mail address and create a new Apple login. So all you need is somebody who is happy to provide the US (might also be possible to get somebody in Canada or Europe if you know somebody there) address, and you just need to send them $10 for express postage.
I've ordered two books this way, with no great problems, just the wait to get them

  • HT204655 How can I access a iPhoto book from time machine without it being modified by Photos?

When I updated to Yosemite I didn't realize the ramifications for iPhoto (silly me). When I migrated my iPhoto library to Photos I have somehow lost a couple of iBooks I had created. I have a number of older iPhoto books under projects, just not the most recent ones. I have checked my other libraries and they are not there. I realized that Apple might have the book in their system from the print order I made a few weeks ago, which they did. And I was able to reorder the book from my invoice for the last order and with help from some very nice Apple support people. However they cannot migrate the book back to me. So now I need to try and find it so I don't have to recreate it. I think it must be in Time Machine somewhere but I am afraid if I find it and try to reinstall it, Yosemite will do something with it. I have noticed when I opened another book that Yosemite said the format was no longer available and reformatted it to another template. Help.

So when I try to uodate iPhoto from my applications folder I am told to uplate IT from the App Store and when I go there I am told the updae is not available in Canada.
You can no longer buy iPhoto from the appStore anywhere, and also not update it from the "Updates" tab of the AppStore. You can reinstall it, if it is showing among your Purchases at the App Store and associated with your AppleID.
Sign into the AppStore look at the Purchases tab.  If you do not see iPhoto there, try to unhide your Purchases as described on this page:   Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store - Apple Support
If iPhoto shows on your Purchases tab, reinstall as described in this User Tip:
Get iPhoto 9.6.1 if you didn't update before OS... | Apple Support Communities
The main idea is to move the iPhoto app to the Trash, so Spotlight does not see it as installed, reload the AppStore, and then to try to download again from the App Store - from your Purchases tab, not from the main page, since you can neither buy iPhoto nor update it, but you can reinstall, if your AppleID is associated with it.
You may need to unhide your Purchases, if you do not see iPhoto on the Purchases page when you sign into the AppStore with your AppleID:
See this link:  Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store - Apple Support

  • How can I Purchase Cards or Books from Australia?

    G'day,
Does anyone have any idea when this service will be available for Australians or if it possible to do a work around? When I try to print cards it crops the the surrounding frame of the card even though print preview shows all the settings and layout to be correct.
    Many Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. It appears that Apple books are not available in Australia but one user in this forum, http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2715443&#2715443, found this provider, http://www.digitaldavinci.com.au/, who provides books and it looks like from iPhoto by uploading the pdf file.
It also provides iPhoto cards and calendars from iPhoto via a plugin for iPhoto to order and pay directly.
I print cards on 7" x 10" stock. In the US that's the size that the card is formatted for. Print the first page and quickly turn the paper stock over end to end and reinsert into the printer. Most times I have to hit the paper feed button to get it to feed and print the back side. I do get a small white border around each side as the printer does not support borderless printing in 7 x 10.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • How can i transfer a iphoto book created on one mac to another mac.

how can i transfer an iphoto book created on one mac to another mac. i am aware of pdf saving but it doesn't help! need to see the iphoto book on other mac.
and how can i view in slide-show double pages instead of single pages?
    anybody has an idea?

    Stephan:
If you want to be able to view the book with iPhoto on the other Mac you'll have to copy the library containing the book to the other Mac. You won't be able to import that book into the other library.
Make a duplicate copy of the library containing the book and rename the folder "Book Library". Open it with iPhoto and delete all of the files that are not in the book. Then copy the Book Library folder to the other Mac and open. You can also burn the Book Library folder to a CD as a way to archive the book in case you decide to order another copy at a later date. I create a separate library for each book I create and order and archive it to CD when I've ordered.
    Do you Twango?

I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How can I move my iPhoto Library from my MacBook Pro to my iMac or hard drive??

How can I move my iPhoto Library from my MacBook Pro to my iMac or to my external hard drive? 'Help' is not helping!!

    To move to another machine:
To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
To move to an external disk:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • IPhoto book from multiple events.

How do you create an iPhoto book from multiple events/albums? I start making a new book based on an album, but then want to add pictures from another event and another album. Can this be done and how?

Sure - once you create the book it is totally disconnected form teh source - to add simply drag photos from any source to the book project in the source pane on the left

  • How to go about selling an e-book from Australia

I want to sell an e-book from Australia, without a website, work telephone or US tax ID. What can I do?

You can use an Aggregator or else a different store (e.g. Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Googlebooks, Sony).
Getting a US tax ID is not normally a problem, if that is your main concern.

  • How to order iPhoto book from South Africa - not listed as country option

How do you go about ordering an iPhoto book from South Africa - it is not listed as a country of option?

    I've found an excellent solution.
    www.24hourphotobooks.co.za
I just saved it as a PDF and uploaded it to their website... their prices are resonable, the product is really beautiful and of superior quality, and they are super efficient!
I've since used them twice! Brilliant company... I recommend you try them (also, they are based in Linbro business park in Johannesberg so you can pick up your book if you live in Jozi instead of courier... but for all other areas of SA they deliver to your door! Fantastic!)
    Hope this helps!

  • How can I rebuild my iphoto library from backup

Can I rebuild my iphoto library from the Time Machine backup?
Somehow the iPHoto libary structure(?), if that's the word, has gotten corrupted.
There phtos are still these, in their year/month/day folders, but though iPhoto
opens it does not show Events, Slideshow, etc.
I found a Support page  that tell you how to re-build the library, but
    it didn't work.
It just occurred to me that the Time Machine back up should contain the 'library'.
Is so, how do I access it and will it open the iPhoto library intact with Events, Slideshows,
    etc.?
    Thanks,
    Hal

You don't rebuild a library from a backup, you replace the library with the backup:
If you'll describe what happend when you tried rebuilding the library with iPhoto maybe we can offer another possible fix like try using iPLM as Larry suggested.

  • How can I move my iPhoto Library from one Mac to another without losing the comments on the individual photos in the process?

How can I move my iPhoto Library from one Mac to another without losing the comments on the individual photos in the process? The source Macbook (OS 10.4.11 and iPhoto 6.0.6 (3.2.2.)) is with my husband in Germany, the target MacBook Pro (OS 10.8.5, iPhoto 11) is with me in Japan. Thanks for your help.

I copied the iPhoto Library to a CD and from there to the new MacBook
If you copied the library to the CD via the Finder it would be no different than the methods Terence suggested.  If you used the Share ➙ Burn menu option from inside iDVD you'll get a mini library that has to be accessed from the open library and the events/alubums copied into the destination library.  Not the same as the other methods.
The Share ➙ Burn method is no longer supported with iPhoto 9 and later.
