Can i skip installing CS2 if i have upgrade to CS5.5?

Ihave CS2 and CS5.5 upgrade discs. Now i have new PC with win8 and my old registrationd on CS2 doesnt work anymore. I have to download all the files for th CS2 again, installit with the provided serial number and then upgrade to cs5.5 or is there a way i ca upgrade directli without even activating the CS2? I want to avoid downloading CS2 all over again since i have it on discs.
thanks
M:P

Hi Michael,
Have you tried installing the CS5.5 first ? Once you are installing the product, it would ask you for the previous version serial number and then you can enter the CS2 serial number and that should do the job.

  • Can I remove photoshop cs2 after I have upgraded from cs2 to cs5?

Can I remove Photoshop CS2 after I have upgraded from CS2 to CS5?  I upgraded from CS2 to CS5 quite a while ago and I have never removed CS2.  Will it affect CS5 to remove the old CS2 if it was an upgrade?

If I were you I would just delete the installed  Adobe CS2 folder. Adobe CS2 uninstaller my remove settind CS5 made to your system after CS2.   The CS2 uninstaller may try to restore settings to a point in time where there was no Photoshop installed on your system.  If you do a CS un-install you may need to then Install CS5 on top of itself the update cs5 for the install will not have the updates you will be back at CS5 level .

  • Can I still install iCloud if I have Windoes XP?

Can I stii install iCloud if I have Windows XP?

here is a simple hack to get iCloud control panel to work on Windows XP to give you synced access to Contacts, Calenders, Reminders and Bookmarks. It also can be used to set up your me.com mail. Photostream doesn't work.
I found a solution here, have written it up in clearer english and added details re IMAP support for me.com addresses here:
    http://42i.co/s/1ii
    In summary:
    You need:
Unpacking program e.g. 7-Zip or WinRar
    Orca MSI editor
The iCloud setup hack for Windows XP:
Download iCloud Control Panel for Windows- NOTE: old versions that work are still avaliable in my solution: http://42i.co/s/1ii
Open iCloudSetup.exe file with WinRar or 7-Zip and extract.
Navigate to and open the iCloud.msi or iCloud64.msi (for 64bit systems) with Orca.
In the left table select LaunchCondition. Then change in the right table “VersionNT> = 600” to “VersionNT> = 200” and Save.
    Run modified iCloud.msi and install.
Run iCloud Control Panel, located in the Windows Control Panel, and set up as you want.
I've had reports that you need to keep the files extracted from the .exe file in the same directory during installaton of the .msi file.
    Have fun!

  • How can I re-install CS2 upgrade on a new hard drive without serial no. of previous Photoshop 5?

A new hard drive has been installed on my G4 Mac with OS10.4. I am trying to re-install CS2 Premium on the new hard drive but I no longer have the serial number of my previous Photoshop 5. I need to enter this as the CS2 was an upgrade. I have spoken to Adobe technical support but they no longer support CS2 so are not able to help. They recommended that I try the Adbe Forum. All my Adobe products have been bought legitimately. I know people manage to use pirated Adobe software so there must be some way for me to activate a legally bought product.

    Michael
Thank you for your email and suggestion.
I have tried that and the only product listed is my CS5 Design Premium (which was an upgrade), none of my previous Adobe products are listed.
I am now looking to see if I can buy an old version of Photoshop that will work on a Power PC G4 Mac with OS 10.4.
I only need Photoshop on that Mac to paint from, not the rest of the Suite.
It is infuriating that I already have a legitimately bought Adobe product (as all mine have been) but I am unable to use it.
    Regards
    Trevor

  • Can no longer print from Photoshop CS^ have upgraded drivers error message reads There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents."

I have upgraded my iMac to Yosemite but now my two Canon Printers no longer print from Photoshop CS6. I have upgraded the drivers. All other applications including Lightroom are fine. I am receiving an error message as follows:"There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents." How can I get the OS to return a list of printers to Photoshop when Photoshop requests a list.

Have you printed to this printer from 10.10 before?  If so, check your connections.

  • I need to install CS2 that I purchased and there is no way I can find to install it.  I have uninstalled what I had on my computer.

Very frustrating to not be able to work on my InDesign files today.  Spent hours online only to find out even though I had bought the CS2 Suite only a year ago, I had to uninstall and then download the suite.  I uninstalled, tried to install, but no luck.  It stops after asking what language I want.  No way to click on anything to install!
Help.  I'm in the middle of a project with a deadline.

There isn't much I can do.  I am just another user like yourself and have no special abilities to make things work beyond the provisions of the page I linked.
I have to wonder if you are talking about CS2 and not some other newer version.  If you paid over $500 for CS2 a year ago (when it was first being offered free to owners who needed ro reinstall) someone made off like a bandit.  It wouldn't have been Adobe because they do not sell older versions of their software.
What you oughta do if you have an immediate need to get some work done is to download a 30 day trial version of CS3 or newer.  The following site provides links for most trial versions starting with CS3... ‘DDL’ Articles at ProDesignTools

  • How to install CS2 when already have CS PS4, 5, LR2 & Reader 9?

Feb 28, 2010- I had CS2 Premium on my old laptop.  I'd updated to PS 3 and then to PS 4 (standard). Then my LT crashed.  I now have a desktop: Quad processer, 64-bit, 8 GB ram, two hard drives (C: 1 TB and D: 2 TB).
I've installed PS 4 & 5, Reader 9 and Lightroom 2, and now find I need InDesign for a newsletter.
How can I install all of the CS2 Premium files (except PS) without damaging my current Adobe program files?  CS 2 came on four discs, with two "Extras", so I can't tell which ones have which program.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Why do I get message that Flash player is in use and can't be installed even though I have uninstalled it?

Using Windows7, attempting to install Flash Player version 17.0.0.134
I download the installer, specifically from the site for Firefox, and uninstall previous version and yet I get this message.
Have tried several times to update and now to do new install and it is impossible. I am without the previous version, which didn't work on
Firefox anyway, and now can't install new version. Please help.

    Hi Norman,
    lease try the following:
Download the uninstaller from Uninstall Flash Player | Windows
Download the Flash Player installer for Firefox, posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page in the 'Still having problems section.
Run the uninstallerThis will remove all versions of Flash Player installed on the system except for the ActiveX Control for Internet Explorer
    Reboot your system
Install Flash Player using the installer downloaded in step 2
After installation completes, launch Firefox, navigate to Flash Player Help and click the 'Check Now' button.
Results should indicate that you have the latest version, 17.0.0.134, installed.

  • Why can't I install skype? I have a new laptop and put in all my account info but nothing happens to install. Is Firefox blocking it?

I just installed firefox on my new Asus laptop and have been trying to install skype. I tried to create a new account and I tried to log in with my old account but I was unable to access skype or to download it. I am wondering if Firefox is blocking it and what settings I would need to change. I am having no luck finding answers through the skype site. Thanks for any help.

Your GMail email is on Google's server, so you should find the same messages there that you saw before. However, any bookmarks, saved passwords, etc. that you did not sync with Weave or another solution that backs up your settings to some place on the web would need to be rescued from your old computer.

  • Can you skip the photo page and have slideshow instead?

All of us have been looking for ways to cover up the download link on the photo page, or remove the subscribe link. I'm not all that happy with the fact that apple didn't change the layout on the photo page very much. The whole thumbnail thing really looks outdated, even with all the shading and border possibilities.
Has anyone figured out a way to bypass a photo gallery page, and go straight to the full screen slideshow? I would much rather have that as my default photo page.
    Thanks

1 - you can not change the photo frame size if that is what you are asking
2 - you can enlarge the photo within the frame by selecting it and using the slider above the frame
3 - you can use a different page layout -- or even theme -- see Liz Castro's web site for examples of all available layouts for each theme -- http://www.lizcastro.com/iphotobookthemes/

  • Can I skip installing Tiger

I don't know all that much about this topic. I'm still using iTunes 9.0.1 (with my 10.6), but I do know that 9.2.1, if needed for a downgrade, is still available here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1056
You could ask in the iTunes support area about the specific issues you are experiencing, as well as how to unnstall version 10, if it comes to that.

  • I have upgraded to CS5, what to do with CS3 now sitting in my computer?

I hope there is someone out there that can help because, even though Adobe took my money, they refuse to give me support because I live in Europe but committed the cardinal sin to buy Photoshop in the US.
Perhaps this is a dumb question, but I need the hard disk space and I'm unsure if it's OK to remove my old Photoshop CS3 version still sitting on my computer after ugrading to CS5. My other concern is the activation code for my old CS3 that was used to authenticate and register my upgrade - what about that? If it's OK te remove CS3, should that be de-activated before I un-install CS3?

You can use CS3 Help menu to Deactivate CS3 before you un-install it the will allow you to install it in the future should you find a need. Yes you can un-install CS3 to recover a little disk space.  You can also find where Adobe stores you CS3 Preferences and delete these also.  However I would suggest that you should leave CS3 installed.  There are Bugs in CS5 that are not in CS3. Bugs with Device drivers and GPU support as well as a bug in the action palette's player.

  • Illustrator CS2 Still default after upgrade to CS5

When I right click a pdf - on windows 7 - and go to open with, it shows only illustrator CS2. So when I go to open with > choose file location, and select CS5 there, it automatically shows CS2 instead. This is not ok.
I even tried removing the cs2 exe temporarily and putting a shortcut to 5 in the directory, and now nothing shows up at all on the 'open with' list. And when choosing file location, and selecting cs5, nothing happens. It acts like i haven't selected a program.

PS CS4 and PS CS5 can co-exist. You can either use both of them simultaneously or can simply uninstall CS4 if you wish.

  • Can I still use my CS3 premiere after upgrading to CS5.5

As I do the learning curve, will I still have the CS3 premiere pro button on my desktop after I load CS5.5 production premium from the disk set ?
Besides using CS5.5 premiere pro, I would still like to edit my prior projects in CS3 premiere some times.          Thanks.    -   john

Yes, the programs do co-exist and install in sepearte folders. Nothing gets deleted or overwritten.
