Can i slow down the music speed?

how do i slow down the song speed while im listening to it, please help. =D

What I usually do is set a marker for every beat. Then I can go back and edit my clips to the markers, and it syncs up with the music. Course it might be kind of hard to set 15 markers in one second...
On the other hand, Capt. Mench's technique is definitely a good one. A fantastic one, actually. Markers would just be another method of doing it.
(On a side note, that video is awesome, Captain. Especially using the brackets to trim. I never knew about that. Thanks for the tip, and thanks for posting it, David.)
Good luck, B, and hope one of these methods works for you.

Try using the following code after each time you write to the TextArea.  I am assuming you are using a TextArea component and are trying to control the position of where it is scrolled to when it refreshes with the chat data.
"ta" is the instance name of the TextArea
    ta.verticalScrollPosition = ta.maxVerticalScrollPosition;

  • How can I slow down the playback speed of selected parts of a captivate video?

    Hi everybody,
I'm pretty new to Captivate and although it offers some great tools, there is something that I just can't get to work:
I'm creating a video tutorial about how to use a website i'm working with so I've tried using "Automatic" ("Demo" mode chosen) recording option which is recommended for this type of video. However, the video recorded has a different playback speed than the amount of time I recorded. This means that some of the slides have a quicker playback speed than the way I recorded, thereby not leaving enough time to show the given feature.
The recording mode with the most "true" playback was "Full motion". However, I would still like to be able to slow down selected parts of the video, but can only find guides on how to slow down the entire presentation.
Can you please advise me on how to slow down only selected parts of the project? If this is not possible in Captivate, please advise me on which video editing software (where you can slow down the playback speed on selected parts of the video) is compatible with Captivate 5?
    Thanks!

Thank you. Andrew Kramer's Video Copilot video, which I somehow managed to miss, was very helpful.
I had a 79 second clip which I precomposed and enabled time remapping. But I have 12 places where I need to slow down the layer. After a while, I was runing out of room to add more keyframes using the method promoted in many videos and instruction sites (grab the last two keyframes, including the end frame, and drag).
In reality, you can add keyframes wherever you like and you can adjust them however works best within the existing timeline without messing with the duration, etc.
    Much appreciated.

  • I am trying to convert a video clip so that i can slow down the clip speed, but i keep getting an error -34.  any ideas?

I am trying to convert a video clip, already in imovie so that I can slow down the clip speed, but I keep getting an error -34.  Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hi Russ,
Thanks for your response. I am not an experienced user of FC or other video editing software but if its that hit and miss I think I will go to the trouble of finding some better software - I have a busy enough life as is, I don;t want to get into second guessing what a software problem might be!
I have just successfully exported my video to a master file using one of the Apple codec options so it looks like it could be to do with the H.264 codec.  I am wondering if Apples Compressor software would solve this problem - the only way to try this it to buy it, there is not trial for the compressor app.  Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Slowing down the music in Logic Express

Is it possible to slow down music without bringing down the pitch, like amazing slow downer does?
    Thanks, Frans
    Powerbook   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Slowing down the music on the same pitch is easy...when you know it. I found that when you check the box "follow tempo" the tempo of the song can be adjusted in the transport window. And then the music will be slowed down on the same pitch to the preferred speed. Very useful when you have to study on a Charlie Parker solo. Now I can make a start to actually understand what the man was really doing.

  • How can I slow down the "Far far away" title?

I want to slow down the title so I can read the information without extending the picture length.  Is this possible?

    1. Press the Crop button (seen on the top right bar where "reset all" is located)
    2. Change the "crop to fill" or "Ken Burns" to "FIT"
    3. Press the button that looks like a speed gauge on the top bar... press it and on there should be a label named "Speed"
and next to it is a drop down menu... Use that to change the speed
         - Here you will see "Normal", "Slow", "Fast" and "Custom".
         - Choose either option
         - I recommend choosing "Custom" so that you are able to control the speed by a percentage interval
If you have any questions, please reply!

Just add the same photo with no KB effect before the photo that you are adding the KB effect to.
Basically you will be adding the photo twice. one with the KB effect one without. The key is to make sure your KB effect starts at the same spot as the preceding image.... otherwise there could be a little jerk
    yes....
To slow down the rate of a Ken Burns effect simply add more time that makes the movement much slower...

  • Can you use developer tools to slow down the CPU speed?

I'd like to slow down my MBP processor speeds when I'm just browsing the web and reading emails. Can you do this with the developer tools that you get with your MBP?
I know there is an app that does this called "CoolBook." Has anybody used it?
    Mark

Well, you can do anything with the developer tools for OSX, but there is not tool like CoolBook. If you want to find the malloc holes in NeoOffice, install the developer tools. If you want to underclock your machine, use something else.
CoolBooks is probably a great idea (though I haven't used it). Just remember that the CPU is only part of the story and that screen brightness, airport, built-in ethernet, and peripherals play a big role in battery life. The elephant in the closet is also the GPU. I haven't ever seen anything about underclocking the GPU, but that thing takes up some serious juice as well.

  • How do I slow down the music playback speed on iPod Touch 2nd Gen.?

Hi everyone, I have an issue with my 2nd Gen. iPod Touch that I hope someone can help me figure out. I searched the forum here as well as the major search engines and couldn't find the needed information.
My iPod Touch 2nd generation is playing the music back faster than it should. I have never had a problem with this before so this is new to me. I don't know if it makes a difference but I am using iTunes 12.1.1.4 and my iPod is model #MC086LL/A. It was working fine one day and then the next day all the songs seem like they are playing at 1 1/2 or 2 times their normal speed.
I have tried re-syncing with iTunes but still nothing helps. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
    Thanks in advance, Ulterios

Do the songs play OK in iTunes on the computer?
    If so
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Can you "Turning down" the music during Videos?

I am doing a movie of an overview of my daughter's 3rd year of life.  I have a lot of photos with movies spread out here and there I may choose music that has lyrics in it and was wondering if there is a way to turn the volume down on the audio track and boost the volume on the video?
Or is it ideal to have music without lyrics in it?
    Thanks,
    Nik

Now, some of this will be predicated on my personal workflow.
It's really the same in PrE, though the grouping of the Audio & Video Tracks is a bit different there, than in my PrPro. Still, I always leave my AV Audio on the comparable Audio Track. [In PrE, this will be on the corresponding Audio Track, i.e Video Track 1 will have its Audio on Audio Track 1. In PrPro, the Audio Tracks are separated from the Video Tracks, and one can Rename the Tracks to suit. I Rename Audio 1 to "AV Audio."]
All music goes onto a separate Audio Track. In PrE, the SoundTrack is a good place, but one can also use the Narration Track, or even one of the Audio & Video Track, regardless of whether there is accompanying Video, i.e. Audio Track 2, though Video Track 2 is empty.
What this does is allow me to use Window>Audio Mixer to control each Audio Track separately. It also allows for some automation (more in PrPro), that is applied at the Track-level, as opposed to the Clip-level.
At the Clip-level, one can use Keyframes on the fixed Effect>Volume, to raise and lower the Gain/Volume, as is required. I like the Audio Mixer, because it is dynamic, where Keyframes will work dynamically, but are applied statically.
The exact method one uses will probably have more to do with how they like to work. While I am very comfortable with Keyframes, I come from an analog world, before digital, so the "sliders" on the Audio Mixer are more like what I grew up with - mixing panels with sliding potentiometers. I also like the automation of the Track-level Effects in Audio Mixer.
In many of my Projects, I end up with at least one AV Audio track (often more, depending on the sources) and at least one "Music Track" (usually many more).  I'll also have several SFX Tracks, and in most cases, these will need to be adjusted separately, and also, many will overlap on the Timeline. I keep them separate, so I can address them at a Track-level, and not have to go into work on each Clip manually, via Keyframes.
Hope that this gives you some ideas, and good luck,
    Hunt

  • Have the following iMac at home and am contemplating adding a MacBook Air and a 2TB Airport Time Capsule for backup/storage and increased WiFi speeds.  My question is this (1) a compatible setup, and (2) will my older iMac slow down the WiFi speeds?   Man

Have an older iMac and am contemplating adding a new MacBook Air and a 2TB Airport Time Capsule to increase WiFi speeds. My question is (a) is this a compatable setup and (b) will the older iMac slow the WiFi speeds?

Be careful about mixing Time Machine backups and other data on the TC's disk.  That will cause conflicts, sooner or later.  See #Q3 in Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule for an explanation and some possible workarounds.

  • Can you SLOW down the presentation of the Slideshow feature?

Just published my first Web site with iWeb -- great program. However, I find the Slideshow feature for the photo album page a little kwerky -- sometimes it works, other times it stalls, even after I decreased file sizes to under 100K.
When it does work the rate that it presents the photos is too fast for my purpose. Is there any way I can slow it down?

  • Recording with audio playback slowed down 65% what speed do I need to speed the video back up to to get it into real time?

Ive recorded a test video with audio/music playback slowed down 65% what speed do I need to speed the video back up to to get it into "real" time?
If I'd slowed the audio playback down 50% I would make the video 100% faster.
If I'd slowed the audio playback down 100% I would make the video 200% faster.
So its obviously somewhere inbetween speeding up by 100-200%
Sorry but its melting my brain today and I cant remember the calculation.
    thanks

    hey all
Thanks for the advise on this. I will explain a little more what am have/am intending to do.
I have used Audacity to slow the song down (Effect>Change Tempo)
Audacity will allow me slow the original song down by up to 99% (Or anything in-between up to 3 decimal places)
Unfortunately I am working to a time restraint of 12 minutes per clip (as my DSLR will only allow up to a 12 minute clip).
The song at normal speed is 4 minutes long.
Originally I slowed the audio down by 50% (Making the audio 8 minutes long), lip synced to it using a rasta blaster and recorded the video using my DSLR at 720p 50fps.
I then imported the video and audio I had been lip syncing to into FCPX.
I sped up the video by x2 (equivalent to speeding it up 200%)
    Retime>Fast 2X
Layered the PROPER normal speed audio back over the top and all was fine.
    Test video complete.
(You can ignore the 65% slowed down audio I mentioned earlier if you like, that was just an example of a slower than 50% audio test)
Firstly what I really want to do is to be able to slow the AUDIO down as much as possible (But still within the restraints of only being able to adjust FCPX retiming within a whole 1 percentage in the final video edit), but have the AUDIO of the song as near to/under 12 minutes as possible.
I will then re-record the video again to this new slowed down audio.
Secondly I will speed up the video from 12 minutes to 4 minutes.
Thirdly I will layer the correct 100% Normal AUDIO on top.
The FINISHED video should then look like everyone is wizzing around at high speed but the guitar playing/lyrics look like they are being played/sung at the normal speed.
Whatever happens (due to the constraints of FCPX) I need the calculations to work so that FCPX is retimed exactly to a whole 1% for the final video to sync up correctly.
So what I need to know in a nut shell is:-
What calculation do I use to work out the percentage to slow a 4 minute song down to a 12 minute song?
What calculation do I use to work out the percentage of how much I need to then speed the 12 minute video up to turn it back into a 4 minute video?
    My mind is melting
